I came in on a Sunday around 5pm it was pretty busy. This was my first experience and I have to say that there's really not much seating to sit down and enjouy your shaved ice, my friend and I ate in my car. The girl taking my order was not organized at all. She would take someone's order and start making it and then come back to the next order ect ect ect.... This place is a great place to go when you are craving shaved ice especially either on a hot day or cold. Customer service is great, they are super nice and very helpful. The place is located in upland , not too far at all. Tuesday's and Thursday's, it's double punches towards your punch card. And when it isn't hot anymore , 1.50 for a scoop of ice cream on a cone. Very friendly service! My Husband and I came 20 min before closing and they never rushed us to leave. We got the chamango and the big stick. Both were really good. My husband liked the chamango. Discovered this cute shaved ice store in a somewhat new strip mall in Upland last week. I was pleasantly surprised at how bright and cheery this place was inside. It was well lit and clean. Menu board was well thought out with great descriptions. I found the shaved ice + condensed milk option most refreshing! I liked the tropical flavors - mango, banana, coconut but will say th, etc. I will say that when I tried the Pina Colada combo with ice cream I had to throw half of the cup away. Coconut ice cream was so artificial tasting! Be prepared to wait a bit when there's a crowd. The shaved ice machine is not very fast and it's a manual process packing down the ice in the cup. read more

This WAS my favorite place. I always bought a small or large shaved ice with 2 to 3 flavors. I hadn't been there in several months and when I went there yesterday, the man who was always there, was not there. There were two women. They were nice and got me my order as usual. I couldn't wait to eat it!. I sat at one of the aluminum looking tables and ate my treat. I was so surprised that there was a weird after taste. It didn't taste great as before. There is something wrong with the taste. I think the water used for the ice has changed. The syrup seems the same, so it must be the ice. I threw my treat away. If customer service matters to you I would not recommend Below Zero. We brought in our own sugar-free syrup and asked if we could buy a shave ice at the regular price and have them pour our syrup over the ice. Our request was refused on the grounds that it would be bad for their business. When we asked how it would be bad for business to sell us a cup of ice with us supplying the syrup for the same price they usually sold a cup of ice with their syrup on it, they said that it just would???? First visit and it was better than I thought it would be. Customer service was great and it was easy to order. You can either choose from the combos they already have posted or create your own. Either way, it doesn't change the price of the size you order, so you can be as creative as you want. Since it was my first time, I ordered the Big Stick and my daughter ordered the Candyland. They were both great. The place is relatively small and not very updated, but for the area, it was fine. There's a lot of potential if they ever decided to upgrade. The really nice thing is they play movies on the two flat screens they have, so that was nice to pass the time while waiting for our orders. We will definitely go again. read more

Can't believe this place has so many good reviews. It wouldn't if everyone had the same experience I did. one word: rudeness. I don't know if it was the manager or the owner, but she was a woman. My friends and I decided to get some shaved ice after our friend's daughters bball game at the Ymca. When we get there, my friends are already walking inside and I'm walking across the parking lot. The woman was at the door literally commanding me to hurry up and walk faster so she can close the door. I told my friends, I think they're closing guys, and the woman answers my comment by saying rudely yes they close at 8. I look at my phone, 7:55 Pm. A small, hole in the wall spot like that would usually love for more business, even if it was 5 minutes before closing. So as we're ordering, another family comes to the door(it's closed), and asks thru the door if they can order something real fast because it was the mom's birthday. The owner is thinking it over then scolds them for coming late but let's them in. Before she let's them in she tells them to make sure they know what they want before she gets to them bc it would take 25 minutes to make the family of 4 shaved ices. After taking our order, the other employee starts making our shaved ices and the woman then starts taking the family's order. The mom orders a mini size and the woman gets upset! She starts to criticize, saying I thought it was your birthday and you're ordering a mini? I couldn't believe how rude she was. There's Nothing extravagant about the shaved ice that is different from any other place. Will never go here again and will share my review with my friends. read more

First off let me say I love going too the store !! But I am giving one star off my last interaction with this place. that was on 7/15/17 I hired them too serve at my daughters 4th Birthday party. they charged 430 some dollars for two hours. I was told they would bring toppings and Hawaiian theme decorations. There was no toppings that I could see. After about an hour of serving I ask where the toppings were to that the young guy says oh it's only sweet condensed milk and chomy how can you these be considered toppings is my first thought. Then the Hawaiian theme decorations there was none of that either. The boys seemed too bothered every time someone went to get a serving of ice as well. I am so sad I expected a better experience from this place lesson learned I will find someone else for my next party. Save your money hire someone else ! read more

Reason for giving it two stars: One, the older woman that works there is extremely rude. When I went with my sisters, we ordered together, and after they received their shaved ice, they still hadn't made mine. When I walked to the counter to see what was going on, I saw that my empty cup was misplaced in between the machines (they should have kept track of the order better) and I asked them about my shaved ice that was ordered a while ago. The older woman rudely responded with "you should have told me about yours earlier!" Wait what? I was being blamed for not keeping track of something that was their responsibility in the first place? I was so taken aback that it forever ruined my first impression of them. Two, I gave them two stars instead of one because their shaved ice is actually one of the best that I've ever tasted. With that being said, they should improve their attitude because it could really cost them costumers in the future. read more

For shave ice outside Hawaii, this place is fantastic. Great flavors, and tasty ice cream included too. They're not open too late, so make sure you check the hours before driving, but I recommend it. Most of the workers don't wear gloves when making your shave ice, and also reuse the ice that falls. I've been to numerous shave ice places and let me tell you, this one is not sanitary. You would think because if covid, but nope. It's very annoying because people just need to be more sanitary, not even because it covid, just period. They should wear gloves when making your ice, also wiping down counters after a spill and not just washing it with some water and then wiping it off with your hands. I've also seen the cashier (older lady) collect money and then scoop the ice cream and cover the shave ice without washing her hands. I dont know if she's the owner but that's nasty, money is very unsanitary and so are her hands! Wear gloves! They need someone to come out and check this place out because the people working there are not sanitary. The shave ice was nasty and taste like dirty tap water! I've had waaaayyyyyy better, it's expensive for just ice and fructose. The sanitary part turned me off completely. And how can you wrong with ice? For the price they ask, they should use alkaline water or something! read more
