Six days after…read moremy car was towed there (including the weekend, to be fair) I stopped in to take a picture of the codes necessary for the correct part. Kraig was good to tell me them over the phone the day before, but it sounded like he said it was a PCM, when in fact, it was a BCM. Wish he would've been more clear, but not a big deal. When we were walking out there, we noticed the right rear tire was flat, even though my car was towed there & was a-ok at that point. Kraig stated it must be a slow leak; wasn't like that a couple of days ago. This was a Tuesday, yet they're closed on weekends (??). In checking out the tire, he then said it was getting low in 3 hrs. Be that as it may, When I picked up the car after it was done, immediately I saw big white scratches on my rear bumper that was not there before. Went in to inform Kraig & while we were looking at it, I then noticed a smaller mark on the front bumper, which was completely repainted just a few months beforehand & was also fine when it was towed there! He tried to downplay it & said he'd get ahold of the owner. In the meantime, I received photos from the tow truck company proving it was fine upon arrival there, yet Kraig said the owner was only willing to pay for the back bumper! Thankfully I disputed the charges with the AMEX (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), so then he caved in & paid for both bumpers. I later found out they will actually use a quad runner ATV to push in and out cars if necessary!! The tire was suspicious since it happened well into their possession, but I let it go since I wanted nothing else than to move on & put this behind us. If all this wasn't enough, they didn't even have the courtesy to use a paper floor mat, so my car was rather filthy especially on the driver side. Unless you want your car treated like this folks, there are places very close by (Ewerts Automotive, Art's automotive) that treat their customer's cars with more respect & are much more reasonable. Low integrity automotive charges approx $185/hr, which is comparable to dealers!!

My truck is my baby and like my dog, I don't trust her well-being to just anybody. Besides, we all know, most mechanics will shyster a female more often than not. I went to Yelp and found Freedom Automotive. The reviews were very favorable and the word "honest" was used A LOT! Brought my truck in and they looked at it. The power steering was leaking fluid, so they cleaned it up and really couldn't tell where the leak was coming from. Jose ordered the parts and I brought her back the next morning for repair. Do you know, these guys cleaned it up again, took it apart, found the leak was a loose hose, tightened it and then called to let me know just what exactly it was!! Didn't pull a fast one and tell me I had to have a new gear case or new hoses or both. Just called me, said it was a loose hose that they tightened and only charged me for labor. WHO IS THAT HONEST ANY MORE?!!? I am beyond grateful for Freedom Automotive. If God has a special place in Heaven for honest mechanics, Jose and everyone at Freedom Automotive have a golden seat. I originally got my car checked out on June 26th. They told me it would take a day to get the work…read moredone. I made the appointment for July 13th when I had some time off. We agreed on bringing it first thing in the morning. The work was for a rack and pinion , axles, and an alignment. On the day of my appointment, they told me it'll take 3 days because other people brought their cars over the weekend. I let them know I planned for it to be done within the day like originally discussed when I made the appointment. They said they will try to get it done the same day but that the work might be rushed and mistakes might be made since they can't have more time with it. They finally call me to pick up my car, but when I arrive, they let me know that the traction control light came on after they finished working on my car but that if I brought it back, they'd fix it free of charge since it was their mistake. The next day, my air bag light came on, and my horn stopped working, so I called back to see when I could bring it back. Jose let me know he'd be on vacation, but they'll order the part my car needs to fix the mistake. So I call them again once he's back from vacation. He lets me know they are extremely backed up, so it might be a while before they can fix it. A few days pass, and I call for an update on the part he originally said they ordered. He tells me they never ordered it, and I need to bring the car back in to see if they can fix the alignment, and THEN they'll see if I really need the part. I said, OK and we plan for me to bring it back on a Saturday. This is now August 29th. He tells me they know what needs to be replaced, but the part costs too much, and his boss won't approve buying it, so they'll keep an eye out for the part at the junkyard. I called again on 9/3 for an update on the part. They let me know unless I can find the part for them sooner/cheaper, there's nothing they can do. I call back today, 9/18, to let him know I got the part, and he tells me, "They did their part" and can no longer fix their mistake free of charge. I'd like to add, I brought my own parts, which they did mention I won't have warranty on the parts I brought if something were to happen, which I agreed to. BUT the issues that came after were due to the alignment done on my car, which they know that. So it had nothing to do with the parts I provided, that came from AutoZone, the same place they buy their parts from. I'm extremely frustrated because I've tried to be patient but in the end they left me disappointed and with added problems.

And not the tire couldn't be repaired, it now had to be completely replaced. This business, Best Hybrid Batteries, had an excellent website that allowed me to input my VIN number so I was sure to get the correct battery (although the battery had a vent hose, despite there not being a vent hose on my car's year). They shipped faster than the other companies I looked at, they did NOT charge a core charge, but instead required the return of the core for the activation of the warranty, AND they included a prepaid shipping label for the return of the core. This, for $1700 and taxes, with no tacked-on fees at checkout. Very transparent. I did NOT find a installation guide included, and the installation vs. reality was pretty different - I went with two online videos and a daughter-in-law who loves puzzles, assisted by a grandson. It took us four hours start to finish (probably would have been shorter if I'd stayed out of it and left the installation to the daughter-in-law and grandson). The battery has been working just fine, and there was no 'programming' (as the dealership said there would be) required. Plug and play., We shipped the battery back and today I got an email from Best Hybrid Batteries saying that my warranty is activated. Given that the warranty beats the heck out of the dealer's warranty on the battery they tried to sell me for $3300, I'm very pleased. Should I have to replace a hybrid battery again, I will look here first while I comparison shop.
