We went on a Saturday afternoon, and while there were people, it was much less busy than my last visit, which was around lunchtime on a weekday (aka rush hour!). There were beautiful displays of cakes, pastries, and other goodies, and the dining area is set up to accommodate both small and larger groups. You can also sit outside. I especially like the two benches by the entrance: they're a convenient spot to wait for your party or for your ride. There's also a water cooler inside where you can help yourself to water. Staff: Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! Two young ladies were behind the counter when we arrived, and one of them helped us. She was very friendly and helpful. Since this was my first time dining in, she handed me the menu and made some recommendations. During our meal, a gentleman came out from behind the counter and checked in with us about the food. Later, before leaving, he gave a friendly goodbye to everyone in the room. I'm guessing he was the owner, and if so, it was nice to see that personal touch. Food: Everything was really good! We had the chicken bowl and the salmon bowl. (You'll have to check the menu for their actual names!) I got to taste a piece of my friend's salmon, and that's what I'm getting next time. It tasted fresh and delicious, flavorful and perfectly cooked. My chicken was very good as well, and all the vegetables in my bowl were fresh and tasty. And good pastries are my weakness. They had an amazing selection! We got a chocolate pastry and a fruit tart for dessert, and both were just perfect. Now I have to go back and try something different each time. For science. Overall, this is a very nice place to come for breakfast, lunch, or simply coffee and a pastry. I really liked the ambiance. The space felt calm, spacious, and airy, and we were able to enjoy a nice, long conversation with friends without feeling rushed. I'll definitely be back!

Gotta love their motto: "Every plate is made with love, and every customer is treated like family." I've had the pleasure of meeting Teresa on a few occasions and chatting a bit. She is just so genuine and earnest. I always look forward to seeing her and chatting if she has the time. Each time we are in the area (usually to visit Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks) we make sure to stop in. This visit we managed to come in twice! Yay! Just love the working model train set perched overhead in both eating areas. If it's not running, just ask your server and they will turn it on. First visit I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas (comes with refried beans, rice, chips and salsa) along with a nice refreshing beer. Second visit I ordered the Trainwreck breakfast (eggs, hash browns, bell peppers, onions, tortilla chips, jack and cheddar cheese. Plus choice of two meats and two additional vegetables.) with biscuit and gravy. I choose two types of sausage, zucchini and avocado. Oh and an ice cold beer of course. Both meals were fresh and delicious. No matter what I order here I always know it will be tasty and well balanced. Service is always friendly, helpful and courteous! If I lived closer I would definitely stop by more often!

We've been to Red Caboose a couple of times, once for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch was okay,…read morebut dinner was disappointing. The fajitas were overcooked, and the enchilada was topped with what tasted more like gravy than enchilada sauce, which was really strange. The kids' mac and cheese looked and tasted like something straight from a box. Service was okay, although a little slow. We haven't tried breakfast, so maybe that's where they shine, but based on our lunch and dinner experiences, I don't think we'd go back.
