Love this place! Was sad when the location next door closed and am so glad I no longer have to go to the heights for my ruggles fix. Service is casual, you order at the register and then food is brought to your table by number. Food is good as always, salads are large and fresh (I reccomend the goat cheese arugula) and the burgers are fantastic as well. Perfect for heathy-ish American fare with natural ingredients. read more

We have only ever gotten takeout from here but the food has been amazing every time. My favorites are the fish tacos, sweet potato fries and chicken Caesar wrap. Only gave 4 stars because last time my boyfriend went to pick up the order (that I placed online) they claim they never got it and had nothing with my name. After he called me and I forwarded him the confirmation email they shuffled around and admitted they messed up. read more

I used to LOVE Bellagreen, but they've taken all my favorite things off the menu (pasta with turkey meatballs, corn soup, turkey meatball panini), and now everything I try isn't really hitting the spot. The food is ok, just hasn't been great. Also, the last few times I've been the customer service had been lack luster. I'm understanding we're just now a "post covid" world, and getting back to "normal"(new hires/retraining), so that doesn't really bother me so much - I know most restaurants have their sea legs right now, but I do hope it's something they work on! read more

Love the amount of gluten free foods. And everything is so flavorful. I love the hempenadas

One of my go to spots! (It's right next to my apt). I have tried a few things on their menu and have never gone wrong, this visit I tried the veggie burger and my gf got the buffalo burger. We both liked it! Great ambiance mixing casual dining with a bit formality. Always a great experience and the manager was really pleasant. read more

Yum, yum, YUM!!! Gotta be honest that I was a little nervous with food bring spicy but it was perfect! Right amount of spicyness! Crab and shrimp pasta was the BEST!!!! Fish tacos another awesome dish! Worth it!! Update review: took my family on our way back from a road trip. Found ourselves in Houston and had to stop at this place. Name changed from ruggles green to Bellagreen but still awesome! Fish tacos are the best. We asked for the sauce on the side so we could control spiciness. The crab and shrimp pasta still amazing. Kid meals were great! I hate going to some of these types of places and the kid portions are for like toddlers. Didn't have that problem! Kid portions were big! read more

Before this became bellagreen I really enjoyed Ruffles green. Unfortunately their customer service has definitely declined. I recently placed a phone order for pick up. I noticed there was a pizza box sitting there even though I was left waiting. When I inquired they said it was my pizza only to discover they made the wrong pizza so I had to wait another 15 minutes. I was not offered an apology or beverage not even glass of water for my inconvenience. Their pizza use to taste better and considering I received a fresh made to order pizza it was Luke warm at best. They also use to have main root sodas and now only offer Pepsi but still have their flavored ice teas. I didn't think pizza was something you could screw up but I was wrong...too bad as I really liked Ruffles...bellagreen not so much. UPDATE REVIEW: I have been back to bellagreen and had a much more positive experience on 2 occasions both dine in and take out. Fast and friendly customer service, food was hot and fresh. I'm glad to see issues were addressed and bill be going back again. I'm really enjoying their veggie burger...very tasty and filling. So if you're a vegetarian definitely try this burger! read more

Great food! Burgers and sandwiches are really good. If you are into good but cheap wine, this is also a good place. Salads are OK, I really liked the salmon salad but the chicken curry salad was OK. Service is great, everybody there is always really nice. They also have good daily specials. Desserts are also nice, and there are some Paleo options. Overall a good place, I'd recommend it. read more

I'm so happy this place is open again!! Some of my faves: spicy SW chicken pasta, buffalo burger, goat cheese salad...just to name a few. Their desserts are incredible too, particularly the creme brulee cheesecake! Service is speedy, and ambiance is lovely. Would highly recommend, and will be back soon. Great food but the service is lacking and all of the tableware is chipped (not a big deal at home but is a health code violation) The manager is jerk face, he talked over his cashier, rudely jumped in when I asked for limes with my Pellegrino (we don't carry those) and then stated that if we needed more napkins we could get them ourselves. read more

This Ruggles Green is beautiful with large windows that allow natural light to just pour in. It's much larger than the previous Ruggles Green that was in this area. I like it better. It's located at the bottom of a large apartment complex (as is the trend these days) and you have to park in the bottom level of the parking garage, which felt kind of odd, but wasn't bad and kept my car cool on a hot summer day. The food, as it is at all locations, is wonderful! SO many healthy AND tasty options. Perfection. I love the homemade pickles that are located at the drink station. They're sweet and fresh tasting with whole peppercorns that are so fun to bite into. The staff here are consistently attentive, quick, and kind. For the quality of the food and the classy ambiance of the restaurant, I feel like the prices are very appropriate. Eating at Ruggles Green is a choice that makes your taste buds happy and you don't have to feel guilty. Win-win! read more

Best hummus in Houston in my humble but correct opinion. The goat cheese salad is a must. Sweet potato fries are divine. Spicy fish tacos are iconic. And don't sleep on the side Caesar salad. It is a hidden gem. read more

If you are searching for a place that offers delicious, healthy food, look no further. I was a big fan of the original Ruggles in Rice Village and I knew I am going to love the new Ruggles green as well. I had the spicy shrimp pasta. The hemp protein brownie looks great too. read more

Sweet potato fries were tasty, but I wish they came out hot, instead of room temperature. ($3.99 for a relatively small portion.) The Margherita pizza was ordinary-- I liked that there was a lot of mozzarella but it wasn't evenly distributed as some slices had cheese and some didn't. The white chocolate bread pudding tastes like flan/ creme brûlée with some bread pudding texture. It's delicious and definitely different. ($6.99 for a good portion... considering cake slices are about $7.95 now a days) Overall, it was pretty good food. The prices are just pretty high, especially for counter service and the food offered. read more

Ruggles Green is by far my most favorite restaurant in Houston. The numerous items on the menu are exceptional. The choices to select from range from (pizzas, pastas, huge, filling salads, tacos, hamburgers, various sandwiches, soups, delicious deserts, and gourmet dishes). Ruggles Green is also known for their catering to the needs of Customers who are gluten intolerant; almost all of the menu items can be made gluten-free. Some of my top favorite items are their: 1) Fish Tacos 2) Goat Cheese Salad (I add grilled Salmon) 3) Carrot Cake (gluten-free) Another bonus to Ruggles Green is the friendliness and professional demeanor of the staff. read more

Another HRW dinner that's looks delicious. The difference between this HRW and the others is that the cost $25 for a three course meal. All this food for such a good deal. But, the problem is I ordered some kind of chicken with some Indian spices that closely reminds me of curry. Uhhhh, that smell made me not like my food. I told the cashier she like sorry. Discovered this place a few months as go when hunger struck while in the heights, I'm glad I went in to check it out, the staff was incredibly friendly and fast! I had the honey-fried goat cheese arugula salad and when it came out it was huge, stunning and tasted delicious! I've since been to the location closer to my home off of W. Alabama and my experience was just as good. The roasted poblano and corn bisque was on point! Needless to say I'm a customer now! read more

I am not one to leave reviews often, but after today i thought i might share. Let me preface with the employees were super nice and the restaurant was clean as always. I have been going to various bella greens for the last four years or so. I used to eat at the one in cypress quite often, probs once a week. My most favorite meal is the Goat Cheese Salad with grilled chicken. About 3 months ago was the last time i had that meal, delivered on DoorDash. Perfect! Satisfied my craving. Fast forward to today. We were there around lunchtime. My boyfriend and i decided to come here because i was raving about how good the food was, a little pricey but worth it when i get the salad i crave nearly every month. He decided to get the Bison burger and fries, me the salad with grilled chicken, order of sweet potato fries & 2 drinks. Total was about 45 bucks. We're both really big foodies so i was excited to share my love for this place. Anyyyyway, our food comes, super hungry and ready to dive in. His burger was definitely not buffalo. We both try it and it just tasted like hamburger meat. He asked for it medium and it was well. The fries were cold and soggy, think like frozen fries. I understand this restaurant is meant to be healthy, but salt is ok to used. Actually, the human body needs salt to survive. They were probably the worst fries i have had in years. Oh, my poor salad. The goat cheese didn't have that goat cheesy flavor, it was almost wet. Reminded me of cheese curds or cottage cheese. The chicken was extremely dry but at least the salad was over dressed to compensate. Typically i can destroy this salad, but i left today not even eating half. Not to mention, it wasn't even a full plump chicken breast, it was like a breast cut in half and pounded out thin. It was seasoned well but unfortunately too sad to eat. We left extremely upset and nearly talked about it for our 20 minute ride home. We live in such a great city with amazing food options and today we were extremely disappointed. As college students, we both budget a little more for eating out, but i feel like i wasted 3 hours of my life to work to pay for this. We agreed that the highlight was our fountain drinks. About 30 min after we get home, both of our stomachs are unsettled. An hour passes and i throw up all of the contents of my stomach. Like, everything. We both aggressively agreed that this chain is forever off of our rotation list. Its sad because I've been a loyal fan for so long, but after today its time to say farewell. We are both avid cooks and its so disappointing to know you can do your meal better than eating out. If you made it this far, i would probably reconsider your choice to eat here. Take your money and go down the street to Local Foods. At least you'll get something not completely terrible for 15 bucks cheaper. read more

Came here for dinner on a Saturday evening and sat on the outdoor patio since it was such a beautiful day! You order at the counter when you first get there and then seat yourself. Then they hand you a number and bring your food to wherever you're sitting. The service was great, especially for outdoor seating. I got the grilled salmon pasta. This tasted very light for a creamy pasta and the grilled salmon paired very well with the pesto pasta sauce. I was able to eat the whole entrée by myself, but I left feeling very full. I also tend to overeat so take that as you will. I will definitely be coming back! read more

So I ordered the chicken salad sandwich here and felt compelled to tell the manager it was the best sandwich I had ever eaten. Crazy, right? I mean I have probably had a million sandwiches in my lifetime. Believe me, it was fantastic. Later I went again and my friend (actually my sister) ordered it too. As we were leaving she turned around to look for a manager. She told her it was the best sandwich she had ever had in her life too. No, I didn't coach her. Truly, this is a fantastic sandwich! Perfect bread, perfectly toasted, lettuce and tomato. Fantastic chicken salad. Try it! I will bet you look for the manager too. read more

I came here for dinner on labor day 2016. My companion and I split the spinach salad and the pork panini (sp). The spinach salad has mushrooms, onions, cheese and a BACON salad dressing that is mouth watering. The salads are huge and could easily fill 2 people. Our pork panini was tasty and juicy. It's shaved pork with cheese, peppers, mushrooms, and sauce. The place was packed and it did take some time to order and get our food. Make sure you park in the gables visitor parking and not the barley place next door because they do tow! read more

We came here on a whim to try what fresh, organic ingredients taste like. Needless to say, we were definitely not disappointed! Our food came out pretty quickly, the service was fantastic, and everything onythe menu was great! I would definitely go back when in the area. Tastes amazing for half the calories!! read more

I looooove this place! Delicious food and reasonably priced! Quick order service and a quaint setting.

Enjoyed a nice brunch on a Saturday morning here with a couple friends! Tried their green egg omelette and their watermelon mimosa, which was so refreshing and tasty! They use fresh squeezed (pressed?) watermelon juice so it wasn't too sugary sweet. The omelette was good too and my friends enjoyed their meals as well (breakfast plate and the BLT). Nice cute restaurant with many seating options. I would recommend this place for a nice get-together/reunion with a close friend. I didn't get to try but the desserts in the glass display looked delicious too! read more

update a year later consistently unhappy with everything i get here ... currently the oh kale yeah = oh kale no the sweet potato fries are soggy (i feel like everything here is soggy. but my salad. which i would prefer for kale instead of dry). there's also a moldy strawberry in here. never again This review is for the vermicelli noodle bowl First, I hope no one eats lean cuisine anymore. But if you've had that asian noodle one, that's what this dish tasted like Watery, sweet sauce and soggy noods. The veggies were fresh of course because it's Ruggles. And the tofu was tasty for tofu. (I would have baked it first to make it firm) Ok I'm done tearing the dish apart I ate it because I was hungry and maybe had the munchies/was too lazy to ask for something else. And the chick taking orders said it was really good and I didn't want to have to tell her that she was lying Nothing is worse than leaving somewhere full but super unsatisfied so don't make the same mistake I did. Luckily I don't think it's always available (this is for the best) read more

I'd been to a different bellagreen before, but I liked this atmosphere even more. I had: - veggie nut burger (good, but the bun was a little lame; a better bun would have made this great! A condiment is definitely necessary--I added mustard, which was delish) - side of quinoa salad (okay, but too dry. A choice of fries, sweet potato fries, and quinoa salad came with the burger) read more

I've been a loyal customer here for years - even before when Bellagreen was Ruggles Green. I've always loved their food (white chocolate bread pudding! Atlantic salmon salad! Turkey lettuce wraps!) but today's service left me a very bad impression. We were in line to order food here as usual. There were many customers and the line was pretty backed up. One lady was super nice and helpful; we, however, got put in a line with a man named Drayton who was on the phone for about 5 minutes before he got to us. When I started my order with my husband, he (Drayton) cut me off and didn't let me continue with my order. He just shut me down. I ordered the Hot Houston burger, and he didn't even ask how I wanted it to be cooked. I remained civil and waited some time longer till he was ready for my next item. Then, instead of handing me a number card for my order, he just threw down the number card on my menu in a very disdainful manner. He continued to be extremely terse and basically dismissed us over. Normally , I tip 18-20%. Needless to say, this time I did not tip. Perhaps Drayton was frustrated by his phone call; I do not know. Regardless, he should not have treated a customer-a loyal customer who was respectful and patient- in this manner. I am extremely disappointed by Bellagreen's customer service here. I am giving 2 stars for the restaurant's great food. Watch out for customer service. read more

I was really disappointed on the grilled ck sandwich i ordered. The chicken was over cooked and the sandwich was suppose to have mango ranch on it but there was no form of condiment on there so it was very dry. I love this place. No matter what u get on the menu u won't be disappointed. Aziza is the best. Ask for her she is the best!!!

This was our first time at their river oaks location and it was an overall good experience. Service good, food good and a decent selection of beers and wine for not being a full service/bar restaurant. Food: I had the seasonal burger. It's was the 44 farmhouse burger. It was an overall good burger but I have to say they were a bit stingy with the Caramelized onions and the blue cheese. I actually got it for those reasons as I love both of those things on my burger. I got the regular house cut fries which was not a big amount either. For $14 I personally feel that they should provide a bit more. I also ordered the spinach dip which was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend this. My husband ordered the spicy chicken pasta which I did try, and it too was pretty tasty. Service: the line went pretty quickly when you consider the amount of people who were there waiting to order! I waited for a while but I know it could have been much longer so I'm very pleased with the cashier. I ordered and paid very quickly. He was nice but to the point which is honestly how I like to when it's not full service with waiters. Once the food came out I asked for a side of ketchup which came out right away. I'm picky when it comes to condiments, so when I ask something It's because I need it for my food. There have been times at different restaurants when they NEVER bring it out. They definitely get 4 stars this time around and I think you'll enjoy your overall experience if you dine here read more

I love Bellagreen (the restaurant formerly known as Ruggles Green). I've tried many items from this fresh food restaurant and they've all ranged from pretty good to wow! Some of my wow items are the white chocolate bread pudding and the honey-fried goat cheese and arugula salad. I've also had the tres leche which is of course delicious if not a bit on the sweet side, depending on your tastes. I've also had the turkey burger which was just okay. It's very hard to make a juicy turkey burger and unfortunately this one was on the dry side. The sweet potato fries are always a great side and don't forget to grab some homemade pickles from the condiment bar. read more
