Someone from…read moreNeka came out to the house to measure, we confirmed the size and within 10 days our kitchen was transformed. The change is so stunning that I'm speechless!! I can't believe how perfect this color combo is (dark in the back and the lighter quartzite on the island and valet). My hubby is still doing a lot of trim work in the kitchen - but seriously this turned out better than I ever could have imagined! Pics attached (I'll post more when everything is done). The price was far better than the competitors (at least the ones we looked into), Berkan made the process so easy and pleasant, everything moved super quickly and oooo yeah driving around on a golf cart picking our stone for our kitchen was pretty cool too! I couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend this company (and Berkan)!!

7/23/25 We were referred to Neka Granite by family and…read moreinitially excited to work with them. But our experience was a nightmare. We chose a rare Ijen Blue Quartzite slab--half light, half dark--and clearly communicated (in person, by text, and with a visit to their showroom) that we wanted the light portion at the front sink area and dark in the back. They agreed multiple times. Installation day came, and the layout was completely reversed. They had cut the slab incorrectly, and no one warned us. When we paused the install, we were blamed for not buying a $450 rendering. Yet no one told us this was required to ensure our layout was followed. When we voiced concern, the regional manager, BK, called and was shockingly unprofessional, telling me to calm down, saying our job was "just one slab," and implying our project was too small to matter. He refused to take responsibility and repeatedly said they "did nothing wrong." He also said that they would have cut it anyway they determined was right and it didn't matter if we did the rendering. Being gaslit, told my project was small, and changing the orientation of the beautiful quartzite was beyond the pale. The way they cut the stone did change how we had planned our kitchen to look. For a $10,000 job on a $2,800 slab, this was beyond disappointing. We allowed the install just to get them out of our home. I've worked with contractors nationwide, and this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

Daffan Homes LLC receives 5 stars!…read more It was a pleasure to work with Chris, Jeremy and their crew through all aspects of our kitchen remodel. The original estimate was quick, thorough and efficient. Once we decided to move forward with the project the contract was precise listing clear expectations for work to be completed, project start/completion dates and payment schedules. During design, Jeremy was extremely helpful with his expert knowledge. He was always prompt when meeting us at vendor establishments and listened carefully to what we needed and wanted for the space. His recommendations for cabinet, tile and flooring materials made our dream space a reality. The building of our project started on time and was completed exactly as stated in our contract. Communication was excellent regarding crew arrival times and what work was being completed each day. Chris and his crew were respectful, clean and kind to one another and worked quickly with extreme accuracy and close attention to details. Chris created two original wood builds for our space (a custom mantel and a window seat) that turned out absolutely beautiful! Our kitchen remodel with Daffan Homes was a huge success and we look forward to our next home project with Chris and Jeremy!

We received multiple bids to restore a historic house that hadn't been lived in for over 15 years, with peeling lead paint, ancient knob and tube wiring, and scary terra cotta plumbing, among numerous other much-needed improvements. Needless to say, this was an undertaking. We ultimately chose CMI for the job, since Nadim seemed confident he could handle the project and it was clear from the beginning that he had a vision for our house. Knowing we had a pretty tight deadline, Nadim's crew worked daily, occasionally even weekends and holidays. Throughout the process, Nadim became a friend. We spoke on the phone multiple times daily. He truly cared about us AND our project, and it showed. As anyone who has taken on home renovation knows, it is a RARE occasion that you come across a trustworthy general contractor. Nadim breaks that mold. He is a gem and I would use CMI again in a heartbeat.

We finished our kitchen renovation a few months ago. In our whole experience with this, there was…read moreonly one contractor we were completely happy with, and it was Richstone. After having some issues with the countertop company our GC wanted to use, we decided to try finding our own and went to Richstone, just based on reviews. The first thing that I liked was that the rep in the store - ours was Tina - was actually helpful - helpful in suggesting colors, helpful in providing all kinds of information that no one had provided us with before. It took us months to decide on the stone for the countertop, and she was ever patient and responsive. When we finally chose one, it turned out to be really hard to get - and yet, Richstone managed to get it relatively quickly and way faster than the contractor we'd originally been with had told us it would take. Before the install, we got a proof showing exactly how it would look on the counter (and it did end up looking exactly like the proof). The measurement process was painless, quick, and accurate. Installation was way better than we had even hoped for - they were fast, neat, and the finished product was absolutely perfect. It is the one installation in the whole kitchen that actually went according to plan. So they came when they were supposed to, they did the job they were supposed to do, they did it right, and we love the countertops. Moreover, I felt like Richstone guided us through the process and Tina did a lot of hand-holding that I needed, because honestly all of this is pretty confusing and intimidating for a first-timer. Wish we'd found this company first - could have saved myself a lot of time and stress.

I'm not sure what to say about my experience working with Denise. She's a very nice person, but I…read morecan't say I was 100 percent happy with the overall experience. My fiancee and I found Denise online and liked the look of her work. The prices were a bit weird, but we really needed help with our place, so we hired her. The GOOD: She came out a few times and measured our place to create a "space plan" that basically allows you to see what size furniture will fit in the space. This was very very helpful and she did it very quickly. She also found furniture on web sites we said we liked that she thought would work in the room. We didn't have ANY furniture to start with, so we needed a lot of suggestions and she came up with several options. She also found a couch at a VA store that we ended up liking enough to buy. It was a great help and a good deal. The painter she uses is great. He did a great job, even though he charged us $1,300 to paint three small rooms. The BAD: She charged us $2,500 flat fee to do the following: - Create the space plan - Surf the web and go to her favorite store (the one in VA) to look for furniture that would fit in the plan - Pick the paint colors for three rooms and order the paint - Measure the windows for window treatments This was WAY TOO MUCH in my opinion, considering the amount of work this ended up being. She basically met with us twice and we did the rest of the communication through email or through her assistant, Sarah. Denise acted a lot like talking to us through email was a bit of a pain for her, because we had a lot of questions. She always wrote back, though, I've got to give her that. The real problem was she wanted us to use her vendors for the window treatments, but I found out that they were charging us DOUBLE what I could get from J.C. Penneys. So I ordered the treatments myself and had them installed independently of Denise. It would have been a real ripoff to use her people. Also, the paint color she talked me into choosing for the bathroom I ended up hating. We had to pay to have the painter come back and repaint the room back to white, but Denise didn't really apologize for this at all. She made it seem like she was doing us a huge favor by getting the guy to come back and repaint. Plus, we had to pay him another $350. In the end, I'm glad we hired her because it helped give me piece of mind that everything we ended up buying would fit in the places we wanted them to fit. I also have been happy with the two wall colors I did like that she helped us pick out. But since we hired her and the job was done, we never heard from her again, except in a brief email about the repainting, her assistant said it was "great to work with us." If you want to be recommended to my friends, you'd better send me a nice note or call to make sure I'm happy with everything before you sever our relationship.

I simply believe in people sticking to their word. If you say you're going to do something within a certain time period such as coming to my house to take pictures next week and THEN providing me with a proposal, then that's what I expect. Not an email from your assistant with a short email about cost and no follow-up from her or you (which by the way I contact her before her email to me about the price). In fact I've only seen you once and this is the second time you're communicating with me. I've been dealing with your assistants. My complaint is simply this.... there was a lack of professionalism. I'm a reasonable person and very understanding. Had you told me what your office is going through I would have waited until a later time to do business with you, but I was pushed to the site and no one would follow up with me...I had to constantly contact you and your assistant to find out what the delay is. Again, I DID NOT HAVE A DEADLINE. I just wanted to know where I stand...and since I was being ignored, I became more demanding of details. I don't agree with your comment that I didn't have a grasp of how the process works, I simply went by what you and your assistants told me. Please don't try to make me out to be the bad person. Like you said, you shouldn't have taken on extra clients knowing what your office has to deal with during the busy schedule and moving process. I seem to be the unlucky one that fell through the cracks. Good luck with all your future endeavors.
