I just love Bella Nails, I have been a loyal customer for years! I started off with San Mateo but found I love Belmont even more. It is always so welcoming and everyone who works there is so nice. They are always clean and it has a very calming presence. I always bring my friends and family so they can have the best experience with me! My favorite techs are Anne & Lisa

    Bumps and bad shape.

Nope! Too much rush to do my nails. Hurt my nails quite a FEW TIMES throughout the process. The edges of my nails were literally bleeding . No clean environment or place. I was fear of getting infected or something. Left my nails pretty unclean, bumps and uneven.

They are really nice here but the quality of the nails is so bad! I shaved the nails down because the shape was so ugly and lumpy. It's my third time back and don't think I'll go again. I liked it because they never had a wait and were quick but now I know why they never have a wait.

If I got the actual manicure I made an appointment for this would be 5 stars. They got me in when the other location couldn't. I requested a Milk & Honey manicure with acrylics. My acrylics were done quickly and beautifully, minus one nail I think is a little crooked and had too much of the side taken off. Otherwise, the shape is amazing. I've never had coffin shape before and this will be my go to shape! I was given a paraffin dip and that was it. No massage, no lotion, no removal of the paraffin dip oils. My cuticles were barely cut back and it was done while they were dry. This is the second time I've gone to this location and asked for a specific manicure and it wasn't done. The facility is pretty clean and they have a wide variety of colors too.

Gel manicure with flower design on ring finger

I recently moved to Belmont and was excited to try this place. I made an appointment for a manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow wax. The front desk person is friendly and quick with booking. However, they didn't ask me about any specifics like what kind of mani/pedi I wanted. Their website has a lot of different services and packages but I didn't see any of that info in-store. I enjoyed my pedicure. My nail tech was a little rough with my cuticles but it was okay. I picked out a gel color for my finger nails and wanted to do regular polish on my toes. I thought about trying to match them but decided I wanted white toes and pink fingers. I told her I wanted white but she kept kept prompting me about matching colors, so I said sure. Later, I realized she picked a totally different shade of pink than my fingers. Toward the end of my pedicure, someone came to start on my nails. I was happy with the shape she gave me. Before she started painting the color, I asked if she'd do some kind of white flower design on my ring fingers and she said yes. She walked away and came back with a bright neon pink and told me that she thought it was the best color to help it stand out. I was skeptical about it but said okay because I assume she had something specific in mind. I was really hoping to get something more elegant than what she produced. I asked her "is that it?", and she said said yes. I didn't know what to say so I didn't say anything. I totally regret asking her for the design. She didn't file my nails after they dried and I wish she had because there was these little sharp pieces on the edges of some of my nails. Finally, I'm invited to go to the waxing room for my brows. The wax tech did the waxing very quickly and didn't do ANY plucking. She also didn't offer a mirror for me the look. When I got back to my car to look closer at my brows, I see that there was a lot that should've been plucked post wax. She also did not clean up all the wax off my face. My nails were reasonably priced ($40 for gel mani and $40 for pedi) but my brow wax was $20!!!! Twenty dollars for a 60-second wax and no care to plucking or doing a thorough job. The salon itself is very big and clean and pretty. The massage chairs were nice. I will probably give this salon another chance, but I will be more upfront/assertive about what I want.

Not a great experience ! The place is clean but the girls didn't do a good job at all and she was very quick ! Not at all happy and will not be going back to them again

    No shape, splotchy paint job.

I went to Bella Nails for gel manicure after moving out of the city where I had an amazing nail tech so I have fair expectations of having my nails neatly shaped, paint color with clean lines and no paint on my fingers and cuticles and consistently color that is not splotchy. I unfortunately got super uneven, splotchy color job. I had to have her put a 4th coat of nail polish - imagine with three it looks like a white and nude tie dye job. There were plenty of areas missing polish. The nail shape I wanted was round. I got some square. Some round. Overall just a very sloppy job; I'm not sure the nail tech knew what a "good" job looked like which is worrisome. I won't be back... but if I did I heard Trina is the only one to go to.

The place is very nice and everything was clean. The nail tech I had (can't remember her name) was mean and had an attitude when I asked her to straighten some of the nails that were extremely crooked. I don't know if I would go back there because of the service, but for an acrylic gel fill it was $45 which isn't bad. They also didn't charge for my broken nail tip. The tops of 2 nails were also indented because she rushed me out of the dryer/light

I felt very rushed here. I usually go to 7 Sisters or Bella nails in San Mateo.. and will continue to do so.

I'm glad I findout Bella Nails since last year. Quality of their products is high value and I don't stuck in broken nail any more. I driving up 45 minutes every month to reach out to Trina. I have special thanks to Trina, she is number one and the best.

    My finished manicure

Welp. Left the baby at home for some "me" time, left with more work to do to fix up my manicure. I told the woman working the front desk and she said it was the nail techs fault. Bummer since they're walking distance to my house. Should have checked the reviews first.. 2 stars because I showed up early and they were able to seat me + I got some quiet time

Great nails, but unprofessional and predatory payment practices…read more I have been coming to this salon on and off for the last few years living in San Carlos. While the mani-pedis are consistently wonderful, the staff's attitude is hit-or-miss, and after today, I will not be returning. As a stay-at-home mom, I was looking forward to using a $100 gift card a friend gave me for some much-needed "me time." My $70 service was lovely, but the experience turned sour the moment I tried to pay. I asked to use the full gift card to cover the service and the tip (which my friend had specifically allotted for). The staff flat-out refused, insisting that tips must be paid separately via Venmo, Zelle, or cash. When I asked them to show me where this policy was posted--or if they disclose to people buying gift cards that they can't be used for the full service--they couldn't give me an answer. Instead of honoring the store credit, they brought the manager over to pressure me into paying through an app or walking to the bank and getting cash. They made such a public scene that another customer actually offered me cash because she thought I couldn't afford the service. It was humiliating, unnecessary, and felt like a blatant attempt to avoid credit card fees or taxes at my expense. When someone bought that gift card, the salon received $100 in cash immediately. By refusing to let me use that money for a tip, they are essentially saying: "We're keeping the $30 left on this card for ourselves until you come back and spend more money, but we still want you to pay our employee extra today." It's a "double-dip" strategy to ensure I remain a repeat customer or leave money on the table. One common excuse salons give is that they don't want to pay credit card fees on a tip. But with a store-issued gift card, there is no processing fee for them to "run" it at the register. The fee was already paid (or not) when the card was originally purchased. Using the balance at the desk costs the owner $0.00. California law is very strict. If a business allows tips on credit cards, they cannot deduct fees from the worker's tip. By forcing me to use Venmo or Zelle, the owner is likely trying to: Avoid reporting the tip as income (tax evasion). Avoid the paperwork of paying the tip out to the technician through their payroll system. It is incredibly disappointing that a relaxing afternoon ended with me being ganged up on over a payment method. If you plan to use a gift card here, be prepared for a confrontation.
