Good - the pedicures. Love them. I love a good massage and I'm pretty sure this is what they're known for. You get your legs/feet rubbed for a good 30 minutes. It's the only reason I come here. Bad - they recently got new owners and they're not the best with timing. With the previous owners, I never had to sit and wait. I would walk in, pick a color and be seated immediately for my pedicure. This was the case for 5 years with them, which is another reason why I kept coming back. The massages and scheduling. With the new owners, I'm coming in and waiting 5, 10 minutes. I get it, it happens but this is every single time since they become owners. Which has been a few months. My word of advice to the new owners, schedule accordingly. People don't like waiting, especially when your waiting area is 2 seats. read more

For all the negative reviews, the ownership has changed. I was concerned that the staff would change but I don't see that. They also seem very happy but that's only an observation. I did have the same experience of gel manicures chipping but that stopped. Maybe newer polish? Anyway, I make appointments and ask for Joey for my pedicures and Yomi for my gel manicure. Came here for a pedicure which costs $28. Good pricing and you get what you pay for. 5 stars for Coco - the lady who massaged my feet and legs for a pedicure. She massaged them for about 40 minutes or so which was wonderful. However, another woman named Yumi ended up painting my toes and she rushed through the entire process in less than a few minutes. Upon reviewing them closer when I got home, some nails aren't fully painted on the edges and you can see the sloppyness of the second coat. The pedicure is still worth it to me for the massage but they should definitely work on their polishing skills. I wouldn't come here for my manicure. As I was letting my toes dry, they saw me struggling to remove the tissue in between my toes for awhile because they wrapped it tightly but didn't offer to help me. Tip: make reservation!! $28 for a "pedicure" but it's more like a foot & lower leg massage than a pedicure because they don't polish good, shape the nails proportionately/even or remove calluses more than 30%.........I had to come home and file my nails my self to make them all even ‍ They are really only known for their massage, not for quality or nice looking nails. I'll be back if and when they learn to do nails better/remove calluses or I if just need a leg massage. TERRIBLE & EMBARRASSING!!!!! My friends, family and myself have been coming to this salon for over 10 years. Today I had an appointment and I walked into the salon, very excited to get my nails done for vacation. The man at the front started, huffing and puffing, rolling his eyes, and just kept saying my name over and over again under his breath. I was very confused as well as everyone else around me didn't know exactly what was going on. He then proceeded to tell me that nobody in the salon wants to do my nails or toes because I am too picky! In response I was shocked to hear this because I never complain and I always am sure to thank everybody before I leave anywhere! The last time I was, there was about a month ago I had gotten a gel manicure and gel pedicure. By the time I left one of my nails had already began to chip. Considering I just spent $100, I went back in very nicely and ask if they can fix this for me. They fixed it, but we're very upset/annoyed to do so. I even tipped the lady again! As I previously mentioned, I rarely complain, but in this situation getting your nails done is expensive, and it is their job to provide service to you kindly and respectively, especially when you are treating them with kindness as well! I was very upset by my experience there today I considered it to be extremely unprofessional. And after embarrassing me in front of the entire salon, he looked at me and said go pick a color we're not gonna be wasting hours on you. I was disgusted and emotional. I simply left the salon, got a wonderful manicure and pedicure somewhere else and I will never return to Bella Nails. It's such a shame, because I have been telling everyone for many years now to go to the salon, mainly because of the masseuse. But after this situation as well as another situation, I will be telling everyone the exact opposite. Also, the other situation, I am referring to is that my aunt who has dementia has been to the salon with me a few times in the last few months and she's always sure to tip everyone. Due to her memory being impaired they tell her over and over that she did not tip them resulting in her giving triple the amount of tips that she should be giving. A tip is not mandatory. It is a gesture to give to someone letting them know that you appreciate what they have done so the fact that they are hounding people to get extra money after already spending over $100 is quite frankly terrible business. There are many places on Staten Island, that have much better service so I would take the time to find a different salon and read reviews before going back to this place!!!! read more

I called half an hour before they were open to see if they would take me for a pedicure the day of and they said yes, Im new to the area and haven't been able to find a good place, so I wasn't expecting much. Bella nail blew my expectations, the best pedicure ive ever had, they start with cleaning the nails, then do a intense scrub, followed by a moisturizing massage, then hot stones and a hot towel. This place used to be good. I have no idea what happened. $80 later this is the worst gel manicure I've ever gotten, by far. This was redone 3 times, once even by the owner. Spent 2 hours here and I still left having to go home, remove the gels myself, and redo it. That's the most frustrating part. Absolutely ridiculous that I still left with nails like this. Uneven French line, polish all over, not even filed evenly. This is so bad it's embarrassing. The last 3 times I came here it was bad and I tell them why I'm not satisfied but that I will give them one more chance. This place was horrible first time coming for pedi. The tools used were not sterilized. During my pedi lady didn't clean under my toes, i had to remind her. I got gel polish so scraping the old polish with a nail file, they scraped all my toes at once. And to top it off i got a toe infection the next day. My toe was red and throbbing. Quite possibly the worst nail salon I've ever been to. Practices are not hygienic- same basin plastic used for myself and the woman that came right after me- I watched and they did not change it and all they focus on is the massage in the pedicure- not the actual part of doing your nails. Tech literally ran a file over my nails once to the point where one of my nails was broken and I had to actually point out to her to fix it since it was hanging off. Paint was a bitch job. I called and made a reservation with my sister for us to get a manicure and pedicure together on 12/27. When I called, I asked if we could be seated together and they said absolutely. When I walked in I asked if we would be able to be seated together. They said absolutely also. They ended up taking her first making me wait, seating us completely away from each other (that was fine as long as we were going to be put back together for the majority of the time)... about 10-15 minutes later they started my manicure (my sister was nearly finished) and did not sit us even close to each other, then they switched our girls mid service, made me get up and sit in about four different chairs (6 months pregnant) in the wait between my manicure and pedicure, wasn't even offered to sit in a comfortable massaging pedicure chair while I waited, and our manicures and pedicures were not timed at all together to the point where they we're nearly done with my sisters pedicure when they said oh you can go sit in a pedicure seat. I declined the pedicure and asked for my money back, which they did just got the pedicure (so I paid for the mani I got and the very nice tip). Obviously not going again since it took about an hour for me just to get a regular manicure with a reservation. read more

This is the place to go to for a pedicure! They have lots of chairs and usually it's easy to get an appointment. The leg and foot massage is roughly a half hour. Unlike other nail salons, where they try to upsell you, I've never been told I needed something else. Best pedicure I've ever had! They massage your legs and feet for a half an hour to 45 minutes! They use hot stones on your legs and paraffin wax on your heels. So I came here off the yelp reviews and all the Staten Island Ladies of Facebook recommendation. I was pleased! The place had like 8 people in pedicure chair at 9:30am during he week! I strongly suggest an appointment or you may not get the services you would like, or wait time would be long. The girls are all pleasant. The pedicure in total took about 1 hour 10 minutes. They use different exfoliating scrubs, oils and paraffin on the heels. I noticed others getting the knife but I did not inquire. This was a great experience and I will return. Now known as GS Sarah Nail (under new ownership). I WAS a loyal customer for years. If you are going for a pedicure please make sure your legs are smooth and date ready. Do not go to the nail salon ready to relax. They will comment if you have any stubble. Completely unprofessional, they embarrassed me and made me so uncomfortable. After obviously talking about me, I was asked if I was wearing a coat on my legs and laughed at by four of their employees. I felt bullied and was mortified. I paid for my service only as I didn't feel they deserved a tip due to their unprofessional behavior. I was called out in-front of the whole salon for not tipping as I was walking out the door. They are very clean, all there tools they use on you are new out of the package. They have new bags in the pedi sink for every customer. Wear face shield and face mask. Very clean environment and beautiful. The pedicure is an hour long massage and they are very nice and welcoming. I have been going to Bella since they opened and have stayed through multiple owners. Every time I go, a customer is complaining about how they mess up appointments. They make appointments for the incorrect day and then try to make it like you made the mistake. They made my sister come in on a day when Lilly wasn't in for Lilly and then booked me for the wrong Friday. Other times they make you wait for long periods of time after their error. I have been coming here for 15 years and I will not be going back again. Enough is enough. It is really a shame because the women who work there are lovely. Love this place. They give the BEST pedicures ever!! Gel manicures are done really well too. Service is great. They even have someone who goes around and gives free back massages while getting your nails done. Excellent add-on. My only complaint is the color gel selection. Especially with summer approaching, I love light summer colors. They carry A LOT of dull Fall colors. If they added more of a gel color selection, I would definitely rate 5 stars. I did not have a good experience here. I walked in..it was very busy. I asked for a gel mani and pedi and they sat me down for a mani first. The girl was rude..her name was Yumi. She barley cut my cuticles. I wanted to get a pink color and I told her only if they can match the color on the feet. She kept getting colors and trying to match them..finally I was like..ok..let's just do stark white..she did a sloppy job and was rude when I was looking at my nails..she said what!!..I told her I could look at my nails if I want to. After receiving my awesome pedicure via Sunny, she went on to someone else leaving only the polish for another technician to complete. I don't know why some of the ladies do that but; they do ! In any event, I tipped Sunny $6.00 I believe and then as I was about to leave...the OTHER lady that completed Sunny's job came running to me asking and actually EXPECTING a tip !!! I have been going to Bella for pedicures for many years. Today was my last time ever. I am not one to complain, and have never left a bad review for a business. I had 2 appointments for 2:00. My daughter's pedicure didn't begin until 2:20 and mine didn't begin until 2:25. I have never had a pedicure at Bella that did not last 1 hour. My daughter's was 25 minutes, and mine was 40 minutes. The massages, which are usually dreamy, were terrible. I felt like my legs & feet were barely touched. My nails are all shaped differently, are different lengths, and the polish does not cover any of my nails neatly or completely. There is also lots of polish on my skin. Here's the reason for my bad review and why I will never return there: I tipped the employees and handed my credit card over. As I paid, I explained to the manager why I was unhappy. Did he offer to fix my toes? No. Did he offer to do them over? No. Did he take off some money? Not even a penny. Did he, at the VERY least, offer an apology? NOPE. This review would not be here, and I still would have been a patron at the business, if I would at least received an apology. read more

The pedi utilities are pretty clean, and they would take the time to give your feet and legs a very good massage before applying nail color. And I love their hot stone massage! I don't like their mani tho because they would not soak your hands in hot water for some weird reason, unless you request explicitly. In short, go for pedi not mani. read more

Loved this place for the pedicures after going a few times with a friend. I'm going on vacation so I wanted to get a nice relaxing one. I took a $25 uber since I live far away, and show up at 5:45. Owner tells me they stop taking walk-ins at 5:30 because they close at 7 and to come back tomorrow. I get it's later in the day, but you should be taking people until you close, or clearly state somewhere that this is your policy. I thought hey I get gel manicures for less money and they don't last that long so this should stay nice and last a while. Nope, 5 days after I got it done... 2 nails completely ripped off and a few other nails were chipping. I went back and complained and they re did them for me & touched up the other ones. 2 days later, even more nails chipped. It's been one week since I get this gel manicure and I'm taking it off.
