SO UNPROFESSIONAL! SO RUDE! VERY STEREOTYPICAL BUSINESS! MADE A 28 Y/O PREGNANT WOMAN CRY! I went in with a picture of what I wanted she said she would try her best I stated I wanted the design in silver she asked like the video I said yes ( in said IG video the tech is using chrome powder). unfortunately on this day before Easter they were in a rush, to start off with she placed my feet in steaming hot water! Fast forward cutting and prepping I asked her to file my nails evenly she begins to cut down all my nails and file sideways so now a few of my toe nails are slanted.. Fast forward again to the design I asked for flames she gave me what looked like grass blades I was hesitant but she said it's the best she could do! So reluctantly I said ok, she proceeds to do all the nails BLACK! I asked if she was going I add the powder she said oh you want silver 15$ extra I said " just to rub powder on my toes?" I would like for you to re-do the design then, because I don't wanna pay extra for something I'm going to pay to change again. She said she can't! I said so I'm not paying for the design. The whole team got up and proceeded to speak in there language and assure me I had to pay because she did her job. I said I'll pay a regular manicure but I'm not paying design and chrome powder she can remove it if she would like. Two ladies proceed to tell me to calm down ( as I'm crying might I add) because now everyone is yelling and no one is understanding what I'm asking. Pregnancy hormones through the roof and she proceeds to shave the design off. In which I asked so how much? She said 62$ I said absolutely not, we go back & forth and be points at a price list, normally I'm verbally told the price because the price list never matches what I'm told. So I explain that's not always accurate she then raises her voice to speak her language to then have someone come over to me and tap my shoulder and told me AGAIN to calm down, as I cannot I'm already crying trying to explain myself AND IM PREGNANT!!!! So the other associate begins to yell & I just shut down too many people talking to me at once, after she's done shaving both my big toes and reapplying clear polish. She goes we are done, clearing up my face I step out for air and to grab my cash because now I don't want to pay card just in case they try to adjust the price as they have done before ! I come back from my car which was in the lot parked infront of the Papa John's the gate was closed. I came back Sunday 4/20/25 and they were closed so I came BACK 4/21/25 so I may apologize to the lady for my hormones and walking out as well as pay for her services and tip. Everyone AGAIN proceeds from the moment I walk through to speak their language and explain the story I waited and asked if I could speak to the lady they was talking about to apologize and pay..... The only MALE manager asks me what happens sat. I begin to explain when he cuts me off before I could finish my FIRST sentence to say; well you don't like design you no pay so go somewhere else we will not service you! I try to explain I DONT WANT ANOTHER SERVICE I WANT TO PAY AND APOLOGIZE TO THE LADY. HE BEINGS TO CUT ME OFF AGAIN STAND UP TO SHOO ME AWAY AND GOES " MAYBE YOU GO SOMEWHERE ELSE"! so again I state I only want to pay he yelled NO, and pointed at the door. I felt humiliated in front of everyone inside and out side of the nail salon!!! Had the customers looking at me like I did something wrong!!!!!! If I could do NO STAR I WOULD! Below I've attached pictures of the work she did and what I asked her for! read more

After having such a great experience with Jenni, decided to book an appointment with her again. I booked a full set and pedicure on the phone, they set me for 10:00 am on a Monday, which is the time they open. Her work was satisfying (but not as detailed as she was for my last manicure). The nail shape and feel was what I wanted and came out similarly to how she did it last time. I loved with how it came out in the video - before the gel polish. The color is asked for is a little off. Came out more pink than the nude I wanted. The pedicure color is different, and is the actual color that I wanted. You can tell the color is different. 4 stars for this instead of 5, would still come back but hopefully the color I pick next time is more accurate. read more

Quality good attitude did my nails very nice no complaints. Took me in for my appointment right away.

All of the nail techs are so friendly and talented! Very relaxing vibe. You can walk in for a pedicure and manicure at any time!

I love this place. The staff is so sweet and always super clean. Their nail products are top quality. They are always efficient and I appreciate Heidi and Gigi for all their hard work. read more

It is a wonderful spa-like experience. Firstly, Henry, the owner, is very polite, accommodating, and professional. All the workers seem pretty skilled and experienced as well. Prices are very fair, especially for the fantastic service you receive. The place is very, very clean and fancy inside. The fixtures and wall decor blew me away. Secondly, I was so impressed with their innovative pedicure techniques- the best pedicure and manicure/ nail service I received thus far. Overall, it is just a cool vibe and a lovely experience. I can't wait to go back for my two-week nail maintenance appointment. My nails are gorgeous! read more

Da Oscar Nails - Oscar nails. I asked for the exact same design - Nail Salons Near Me - Staten Island, New York

I came in, and I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces. Yet, when I got my nails done, the job she did was horrendous. She had to redo my toes twice. The work was sloppy, and removing the gel nail polish was an extra 5 dollars. Since I had gel on my toes it had to be removed with the nail machine, but when she did it she made my toes uneven and bumpy. So now I have to wait until my nails grow out to fix the mistake she made. If I wanted mediocre nails, I would have done them myself. Truthfully, I think I do a better job. I do not recommend coming here! They also give you no refunds. I came to this nail salon because I wanted to be pampered. Instead, I got a headache and aggravation! read more

The place itself is clean enough but sloppy. Also it was a hot day and the AC was not on giving no thought to the comfort of customers. My manicure and pedicure were rushed and haphazard. No attention to detail. Polish on my skin that I had to ask to be cleaned. I also have cuts by my cuticles on three fingers. First and last time. read more

I love this place and really dont have anything negative to say about it. I have been getting my nails done here for quite some time. Most of the nail technicians are professional and do a really good job. They all can do just about anything you ask for when it comes to nail art. I always make my appointments in advance and are able to get right in without a really long wait. They just recently did some remodeling of the salon and it is absolutely beautiful. read more

I went in for a Mani/Pedi while waiting for my iPhone 11 Max to be repaired next door. Nice, clean, professional little place. The two women who had helped me were wonderful and caring. I also had an eyebrow waxing. Reasonably priced. Their message chairs are one of the best. I'll go again. read more

Came here for a basic mani/pedi. Cost $22.. the technician did a decent job. Only complaint is that my pedicure lasted about 10-12mins. Most places I go to do 20 minutes at least. The manicure was ok too. Nothing to brag about but it got the job done. I would return. read more

This is my go to salon & he staff is really nice for the most part. It really depends on who does your nails to base it on the longevity of them. I used to get acrylics and my prom nails stayed on for at least 4 weeks the last time I got them. I get gel maincures now & they stay on for a least 3 weeks which is really good to me. However, sometimes when it's busy and you get a pedicure they barely spend time really scrubbing your feet but the polish lasts. Really good salon overall I just recommend picking someone you really like & sticking with them cause your nails can vary from time to time if you just go to anyone available. read more

I was happy to find this place the first time I had a pedicure here. However, next visits were not the same. In the summer or on a Friday it's really crowded, even in the early afternoon. After a long wait for my pedicure, It was incomplete and rushed. I like the location and the salon is nice, but not managed well. read more

When I first started going to Oscar last year I was so impressed. Always a great gel manicure and nails looked neat and perfect. The last two times now I have gotten horrible manicures. The first time it was so bad I actually went back and the owner fixed them for me. I decided not to leave based on this one negative experience and went back yesterday. Once again a sloppy, horrible job. This time was the last straw for me and I'm sorry to say they lost a loyal customer. A waste of 35 dollars. read more

Came here for a last minute quick manicure and pedicure, they have a public parking lot which is good right in a mini little plaza. The place was not packed at all which was good and its a nice clean nail salon. I like the pedicure area its got curtains to make it private and the chairs are comfy. My nail tech was Elana she was nice and I liked her, and her designs on her toes that she had. I enjoyed my little mini spa day BUT then the big down fall was that when I was removing my gel polish I had my nails soaked in a box with the acetone and when they went to remove it the paint off the box made a huge stain on my sweats and shirt that CANT COME OUT! I was pissed! & they had said it was my fault because I must of spilled the acetone, no its your fault, I am the customer and don't remember spilling anything on me, so that just irked me but they were super nice to me after, typical. CUSTOMER SERVICE MOST IMPORTANT! The nail polish lasted that night, I think they put to much acetone in there polish which eventually makes the polish weak. I wont go back unless I really need it! read more

I used to drive 45 minutes and pay the $13 toll from jersey to Staten Island just to go here. Now I live and Staten Island. Been coming here since 2009. Daisy (owner) is the best. My nails always look beautiful coming out and they are the best with pedicures. My main girl is Chi. I come in with these crazy pictures and she doesn't the. Exact and better. Fantastic. I tell my fiance every time I go in that I'm going into heaven! No joke definitely recommend this place. Prices are good and well worth it! Clean and awesome staff. read more

Been going here for 3 years. I moved to NJ and come back here to get my nails done. Prices are good and they do a great job.

I've been going to this place for almost a year, along with my 2 daughters. Today they went and had their nails done. Made appointments that no one wrote down (for the 2nd time) so they didn't have one.. and was unable to get the girls they usually see. Heidi and Jessica. My daughter had her nails done by a man. Who when he left 2 of her nails shaped differently from the rest and she asked him to shape the rest the same way. He told her that would cost $5. More. Are you kidding me??? Since when does it cost more to shape your nails? BUYER BEWARE. I guess he thought she was young and didn't know better. WRONG. He probably figured that she new better after she left without tipping him, With a nail salon on every corner we will be finding a new one. Shame on him. read more

Horrible horrible horrible service...I went in for a silk wrap and the guy did a horrible job. He rushed everything and it looked sloppy. Then he sent me to another lady to do a flower design and she did a horrible job. After my nails dried up, I looked under it to find a gunk of mess, when I asked them to fix it, they gave me an attitude before they cleaned it. I will never ever ever step foot in there again!!!! read more

This place is horrible! They treat you like crap when you don't come back for service every 2 weeks or if you want something other than a basic manicure/pedicure. And the girl who sits in the 2nd last booth on the left side completely screwed up my eyebrows when she waxed them. And when I confronted her about it, she pretended not to see anything wrong with them and charged me for the waxing anyway. read more

I am changing my review because of how horrible I was just treated moments ago! I would give 0 stars if I could! I had been coming to da oscars for over 5 years. The workers know myself, my mother and my aunt quite well as we all go every two weeks like clockwork. I show up to get my nails done for vacation and am told a half hour. Fine, I ask if it's ok if I run to the store and come back. Absolutely I was told. I came back within 20 minutes and see the last girl before me was just taken. Ok, I tell the girl I am back and even sit next to her so I am not forgotten. After 4 people who came after me were taken and I now have waited an hour and ten minutes I finally said something. I was told 10 minutes everyone is busy. Fine. Accept I watch them take two more people who came after me ( one of them came less then 5 minutes before she was even taken). How rude could you be to your customers!!! I can promise that me and my family will never return to this location again now! I don't expect special treatment but I expect to be treated fair! read more

Honestly I am very pleased with my experience. Went in for a color change, a gel pedicure and fix a broken nail. Was sat immediately and was attended as well.... took her time making sure all the toe nails were the same shape and size. Clean and massaged my feet and legs. Overall very pampered so far ! Went in with a little idea of how I wanted my nails painted...she was very patient and very cooperative. She replaced and thicken the acrylic that I had. She mentioned that was the reason why my nail broken, she filled in and also matched the sequence as my toe nails. Overall very satisfied! Do recommend. read more

If I can give zero stars I would. This is the absolute worse nail salon I ever been too. Every time I step foot in there they have this nasty attitude even when I come with all my family and bring them business. We come every two weeks and there is always a problem. I recently got a new full set and three of my nails broke before a week was up, and their pedicures are GARBAGE !!!! If I wanted to pay someone to wash my feet I would just ask my mom... Never going here again read more

I normally don't write reviews but when I read some of the reviews for Da Oscar Nails I was compelled to write my own review and challenge others' statements. I find the staff and owner to be very friendly and professional. The nail technician I go to, Nora, does a wonderful job with my gel manicures and pedicures. I look forward to my twice a month visits to get pampered! One reviewer commented that they nickel and dime for their services. I guess I have been to various nail salons and do not see where Da Oscar's practices are any different than the others. If you want something done that is not within the standard service (e.g., nail design, there is a product they will use if you have a lot of callouses on your feet), you pay for it - you get a service, you pay for the service. Making a statement that "Some things they use seem dirty." is NASTY. They either ARE or they ARE NOT dirty. How can some thing SEEM dirty. (Sorry, this statement really got me because the princess wanted to be derogatory and put it in the readers head that there is a problem without there actually having to BE a problem....only that there SEEMS to be a problem - - ridiculous!) Finally, as I said the staff is friendly and professional. I have been going there for a very long time and have never seen anyone be nasty, mean, or unprofessional to any customer while I have been there. Is it possible that those who find them nasty got back what they gave to the staff? I know customer service should come first but the customer is NOT always right and no one deserves to be treated like crap by a customer and not expect to be treated in kind. read more

I'm so upset with the way my nails came out, you could see the lines on the acrylic tips through the nail color. This was the WORST manicure of my life. The whole process was painful and the lady doing my nails complained every five seconds that I was moving because I couldn't bare the pain. Anyways yeah definitely don't recommend this place now I have to spend an extra $50 to fix this horrendous job. read more

I made an appointment for 11 , I sat there until 11:40 and asked the owner numerious time what was going on and he said"we are late " and continued to take other people without an appointment before me.
