I love this place! The chicken Marsala is incredible! We also had eggplant roll acting as an appetizer, linguine with clams,gnocchi and manicotti! All great and we all have dinner for tomorrow! Service is great and always like talking to the owner, who makes you feel like you are his personal guests! Only suggestion for improvement is to assign the waitstaff to one area! Stumbled upon this place while out with my boyfriend. Doesn't look like much from the store front, so we were pleasantly surprised by our entire experience! Food was amazing and we had enough for leftovers. Not only are the portions big, but everything looked so good on the menu, so we ordered two apps (the baked clams and stuffed mushrooms), he ordered a steak entree and I had the pasta Valencia (seafood pasta). We were so stuffed that we didn't leave room for dessert. We plan to be back and hope to check out their back patio with live music! This place is really cool. The ambiance is wonderful and the Piano player is a nice touch. The staff is professional and friendly. We met the owner and some locals who are great people too. Since my favorite Italian restaurant has closed down, I had to fine a new place for my pasta needs. Some friends recommended Bella Mia and they were correct! The size of the restaurant is deceiving, it is fairly narrow building, but is very deep inside. We had reservations, so we were seated right away and served the basics (water, bread, oil, etc) They also had someone playing a guitar and singing at the front of the dining room, the music was at the proper volume. You could here the music and yet hold a conversation at the table. Every on ordered some thing different. The serving size was plentiful and piping hot. No one walked away hungry. The dishes were prepared as ordered and tasted great. The wait staff made sure that things were refilled as needed and plates were removed from the table when done. I opted for the chicken parm, it came with two nice chicken breast and nice portion of pasta. And just enough sauce to cover the plate, but so much to drown it. Not a good experience at all. Went out to celebrate my birthday and went to bella mias for dinner. Ordered the grilled octopus and the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Some of the octopus was very chewy. The mushrooms said they had bacon but didn't taste/see any bacon at all.... Mushrooms were also served on a dish with wilty spinach. I ordered veal parmesan with pasta. The veal was very thin, overcooked and chewy. The pasta was undercooked and still a little hard. My girlfriend ordered the scallops with a lemon butter sauce. The lemon butter sauce was very over powering and the scallops themselves were gritty and a little bit of a fishy taste. The server never once asked how the food was so i had to bring it up to her. She immediately snatched the plate but did offer me a replacement and at that point i didn't want to wait for a new dish to be made. The worker that was cleaning off tables asked if we wanted the scallops wrapped to go which at that point we said no and he took the dish and threw it into the bin. The waitress came back and i brought up the scallop dish telling her it was gritty and just not good at that point the waitress got an immediate attitude with us. She said she couldn't do anything with the scallop dish and brought us the bill... There was a coupon on the website that if printed out you could save $5. I printed it out and brought it in and tried redeeming it for the $5 off when trying to pay the bill. The waitress again with attitude said that's an old coupon and tried to tell me that it was not on the website and the coupon is not being honored. I asked for the owner who was walking around all night and the waitress then told me he was not available but could get me a manager. I said okay and the manager came over to the table and she said the coupon cannot be taken off cause they do not accept the coupon. I asked why it was on the website and the manager gave me an attitude as well. I brought up my meal and then the quality of the food for both dishes we had and that two dishes both not good. I explained that the busser cleaning up tables took the scallop dish that only had 1 and 1/2 scallops eaten and the dish was removed from the table. The manager ended up talking to the owner and ended up honoring the coupon because the owner had it put back up on the website last week so the attitude that was given shouldn't have been given and they should of just taken the coupon . the attitude about the food complaint was unnecessary. She was mad that i complained about the food and said they don't get complaints. The server ended up coming back to the table and was rude and threw the checkbook on the table and just said thanks and have a good night and stormed off. I have never seen staff get so mad and become rude over a complaint because the food was noy good. Bad food happens but rude service should never happen. read more

I heard about this place from my aunt, it's also right next to my grocery store, let me just say wow. The ambiance was amazing. We went on a Tuesday, no wait and it was nice and quiet. The appetizers were awesome. Then the food! Oh my goodness it was sooooooooo delicious. It is pricier but my opinion so worth it. They also have a full bar and comprehensive wine list. Came to this place after someone had suggested it, not impressed with all the clutter and mismatch furniture, chandeliers hanging from an industrial type ceiling, thats a big no. Stop hyping yourself up so much this restaurant does not compare one bit to fine dining downtown lets say on oak Street or rush. Please stop calling yourself the walnut room of the burbs your staffs uniform is not even clean or ironed I always check how clean the staff is in the beginning of the night it says a lot. Just because you cleaned out some grannys basement and took all her furniture does not make you fine dining. Plastic plants as Deco? Exceptional and an amazing discovery in a plain strip mall in Midlothian. The exterior is not impressive but once you enter the doors you are transported into a fine upscale dinning experience. The decor is elegant and classy yet comfortable and cozy. The service has been very good and the food exceeds my expectations. The owner takes great care and demonstrates a commitment to excellence. Tonight my siblings and spouses went to dinner at Bella Mia. It was excellent! From the delicious lemon drop martini to the entree to the tiramisu, one course was better than the last. I love the ambiance there. It almost feels an old fashion supper club, with the tastefully quiet music (the musicians are very talented), the decor is beautiful, and our server, Shay (hope it's spelled right) was absolutely amazing. I recently had dinner here with a friend. Immediately upon entering we were blown away by the friendly staff and the baby grand player piano. we have been to Bella Mia Italian restaurant several time , Midlothian Wednesday 12-13-23 very disappointed. We had 7PM reservations, waitress was very good , But we were informed they were out of Bread .... What??? no compensation ,also the four of us were surprised how small the portions were . We had a group date at this location. We were definitely underdressed. Our waitress was nice with recommendations and accommodating meatless options. The wine was phenomenal but pricey. $34 for our bottle, found at a wine store for $14. The artichoke hearts were good, but not amazing. The calamari was delicious. My boyfriend loved his mastacholi and added italian sausage. My fettuccini was delicious and rich! The veal picante was super flavorful and the lasagna was not bland at all! My friends salad came out with olives, when asked for without. It was a quick fix. They boxed our items up for us which was nice. The gratuity is already factored in for 6+ not 8+. I'd go again, but avoid some things next time. :) read more
