I took my husband here last week for his birthday. I am now back to enjoy the 6 COURSE MEAL AND WINE PAIRING EVENT. Our first course was a Caesar salad, paired with a Ca' del Sarto, Trenbiano d'Abruzzo. I thought the salad had too much dressing. The wine was a good Pinot Grigio. ************************* Second course consisted of crab-stuffed mushroom caps, blended with garlic fresh herbs and a touch of cream and citrus, topped with a light breadcrumb crust. I didn't taste any crabmeat..all cheese. Lol Good pairing of the wine BROTTE Viognier Bin De Pays d'Orc ************************* 3rd course Pasta in Vodka sauce..a silky smooth tomato cream sauce, with a touch of sweet cream and a dash of chili flakes and aged parmigiano-reggiano. Ca'del Sarto, Mangroves Terre di Chieti This is an excellent wine..on the line of a Chianti.. ************************** 4th course was a salmon cake over a bed of rice Brotte, Cotes du Rhone Espirit Red Blend I would not think of pairing a red blend with a salmon cake... ************************* 5th course was a tender center-cut filet mignon medallions with a caramelized crust, served with Vesuvio potatoes. Disappointed that the filet is overcooked..medium well! Vesuvio potatoes were excellent! Loved the red blend Bodegas Manzanos Nabarra 111 RED Blend ************************** Our experience ended with a cannoli. Very small.. paired with a Baron De Ley Rioja Semi Dulce Very nice dessert wine It was a great experience! This is my second year and I would do it again..

wow! what a hidden jem! Food was absolutely amazing, super fresh and sooo much flavor. From walking in the door to the table everyone was amazing, I can't rave enough about our waiter this young man new the menu forward and backward and was able to give some amazing recommendations. Live music was a nice touch not to loud so I could still hear my table conversations We left full and very happy with what we got and what we spent. One of the few times I will say money well spent. Can't wait to go back!

We went to Bellamere Friday night with six of our friends whom we meet with once a month in a different restaurant. Everybody loved their food. The place is a beautiful restaurant very well appointed the owner is always on hand to greet you which is a nice touch the restaurant is huge and they just bought the empty space next-door so I look forward to an expansion. My wife and I shared the chicken Vesuvio and it was terrific. We started out with minestrone soup. she had a salad. The minestrone is very good. They give you a big bowl of it not a little cup for 599 which is a deal. The chicken Vesuvio came and Vesuvio sauce with peas and garlic, and came with a large round cut Vesuvio potato which we asked for well done and they did it well done they put bread on the table, which is warm Italian bread, which is great. My friend Mr. Canalini ate about 70 pieces of it and the waitress name was Shea was terrific and somewhat comical cracking jokes every now and then couldn't have been a better dinner. If you look you'll see the picture I posted of our night there.

Though I was in the Illinois area for a short amount of time, the foodie in me needed to explore before I departed last week. I stumbled upon an Italian restaurant called Bella Mia. The menu was very expansive & I wanted to try everything. To start off, I ordered a glass of wine (I think Zinfandel), which was quite delightful & beautiful in its romantic, yet historic ambiance playing Frank Sinatra. My waiter brought bread & butter to the table & to my surprise, had roasted garlic on the side. I have never in my life seen an Italian restaurant offer roasted garlic on the side with bread & butter. This may be a new standard I'd like to see at Italian restaurants I may visit in the future . Dinner: I ordered the Pasta Velencia (I am sure if this is the correct name of the pasta because it's not on the website. It was either the Velencia or Linguine Portofino) with Caesar salad. I was disappointed that they ran out of anchovies. The salad was pretty okay. The pasta dish itself was MASSIVE in a giant bowl. I must say I was overwhelmed. It was pretty delicious, but there was no way I could finish a massive dish like that in one sitting. I had to take it back to my hotel & finish it the next day. This dish would be ideal for two people. The pasta was cooked to perfection al dente, and the seafood in the pasta was very fresh/high quality. Overall, I recommend it. The ambiance is very romantic and intimate (a date night vibe for sure). Outside of the restaurant, it may not appear to be as such, but don't be fooled. Parking is easy & the staff are quite friendly and informative.

We often get the macaroni, pasta, and kidney bean salads to enjoy for summer barbecues. Staff is always nice and extremely helpful. Other offerings include pasta, pasta sauces, wine, sweet treats, fresh desserts, seasonings, crackers, kitchen items, and more! Not good. Not good. Not good. Regrettably ordered two "made to order" sandwiches from their deli…read morecounter. Both sucked BIG TIME. First sandwich was a custom sub sandwich of turkey, Genoa salami, and rosemary ham with cheese, tomatoes, vinegar/oil, and Italian spices. How a sandwich could taste funny is beyond me, but it did. The meat tasted old and was flavorless. It was pre-cut, not freshly cut meat, so who knows how long it had been sitting out in the counter. The bread was stale, could have broke windows with it. They barely put any meat on it (not that I would have wanted more), the sandwich was all bread. No Italian herbs on sandwich. And the icing on the cake, instead of putting a nice, fresh vinegar and oil/sub oil on the sandwich, I was given a two ounce little package of some generic vinegar and oil that was pre-fabricated by some wholesale company, which also tasted really off. The second regrettable purchase was an Italian sausage sandwich. That too was horrendous. The sausage itself had a funny, off taste, not a nice blend of seasonings. And not that I would have wanted more, but the Italian sausage was old and shriveled, so it was like a child-size portion. I asked for some red sauce on the side, let's just say Ragu would have been better, and that's not saying much. To add further insult to injury, the bun was stale. Also got some Nutella butter cookies that they farm in from D'Amatos that is in the city. I have been in D'Amatos and I love their cookies. With that said, these D'Amato cookies were stale/also tasted off. The tip-off should have been the fact that they must have had fifty or more packaged D'Amatos cookies on their shelf. They are bumping $10.00 for around maybe 12 cookies, so they obviously don't sell all that quickly, turn stale, and there you have it. Also weird vibe in there. The employees (including the Rubino son who is always in the deli area) are not friendly at all. I might be a little bit more forgiving if the employees/owner were nice but they are just really indifferent and very unfriendly (especially the owner). Very unfortunate. Sandwiches from Subway would have been better.

The beef they had was probably my favorite and I am not usually a beef person. I wish I'd gotten a bit more of it! The mashed potatoes are always a favorite of mine too. The place is both a restaurant and, at the front, seems to have some grocery items as well. They have a wine room, though not something I checked out. The private room was comfortable; it didn't feel overly crowded or anything, even though there were at least eight tables for dining and then a few others for food and gifts and whatnot. The one thing that was a little weird was that there were a couple bathrooms in the front of the room, which seemed like an odd and somewhat conspicuous place to put them. There was a bathroom out in the main restaurant, too, and also a family bathroom which I appreciated. That's where the changing table is located. Parking seems minimal--unless I missed some, it didn't actually seem like enough for the size of the restaurant. But they do have a private lot.

They give you plenty and you can tell that the ingredients are top notch but the flavor was severely lacking. The sauce is very bland and there is almost none on the pizza, however I don't think it would have helped if there was more. They need to really evaluate their sauce. I wasn't a fan of the crust either but it was ok. All in all, I probably wouldn't come back for the pizza.

I like that the ordering area is right in front of you when you walk in, and that the boards with menu items are above. Off to the right are pastries and to the left is the gelato. Along the left wall are some two tops and to the right are some four tops. So, you can come here in a group, or on your own. The food: I asked for a tester of the strawberry cheesecake gelato. This was good. A little bit icey, but good flavor. My partner ordered a scoop of the chocolate chip in a cone and enjoyed it. I thought his was a little icey as well, but again had good flavor. There was a picture of a bagel with avocado and tomato on google maps, that I wanted to try. I asked what it was bc I didn't see it on the menu and they said it was the avocado toast. They offered to put it on a bagel, and I asked if cream cheese could be added. This bagel is fantastic. It's so fresh. And you can see how perfect the avocado was; it was perfectly ripe. They also added some olive oil and her , but they left off the feta and tomato. I think those two toppings would have made this epic. Nonetheless, it was yummy. The drinks: I ordered a chai tea latte because they said they made their chai syrup in house. When I tasted it, I realized they made it in water first, rather than in milk, and it wasn't spicy like a traditional chai. I could taste cinnamon, but I didn't taste cloves, cardamom, black pepper, anise, ginger, etc. This was okay. Next time I might try one of their tea bags because they have a large selection. My partner ordered a mocha. He said it was good. Parking: They have a shared lot out front and we were able to find a space without issue. Overall impression: I intend to come back to try more of their food items and other teas. The people who work here are wonderful and the location is great.
