I have been a long time patron of this bakery. I find myself at the crossroad of my next review. I recently purchased a few pastries, including crème brûlée dessert cups. Macarons always lovely, the crème brûlée, not so much. Not an exaggeration by any means. The first time I purchased the crème brûlée, I thought it was a fluke. It was not creamy- at all! It was a dense, tapioca- like substance! It was unpleasant to the palate. However, I tried again in hopes it was indeed, a fluke. Needless to say, I would not be repeating myself had I not found once again, attempting to eat a rather gelatinous concoction that was quite unpleasant. I will not be buying crème brûlée again. I hope the recipe will be revisited. After all, repeat customers are the base of any successful business. read more

What I love the most about this bakery is Pastry Chef John Bowden does not cook with margarine or soybean oil. He uses REAL BUTTER. He tries to buy ingredients local and organic. This place has been a Godsend during the pandemic with cooking classes and kits to make pizza, pecan pies, maple bacon scones, fruit tarts, chicken pot pies and tiramisu. The FaceBook Live videos are fun. The owner obviously loves his camera operator wife (I mean who doesn't like a true life love story), and sometimes the cat is mentioned or the kids are helping. Sometimes his blender has smoke coming out of it or his oven has a wrench for a handle or his colander doesn't have a handle. It's hilarious. He tells great anecdotal stories, too. This bakery is EVERYTHING!! I found it through billboard advertising when we moved here 3 years ago. When you walk in the place smells like butter and sugar! The bakery items are classics with modern twists. The macaroons are delicate and bursting with flavor and the flavor combinations they have are unmatched. My son loves the sugar cookies...they actually melt in your mouth! I make my way to the bakery just about every Friday for my end of the week treat...and I'm never disappointed. One of my favorite bakeries in El Paso! I've been searching for a bakery and this place has everything from cream puffs, croissants, to macarons, and small tortes/cakes and pies. Although the don't have the best macarons I've ever tasted but they are pretty good! My favorites are the cream puff and the eclair and the strawberry cheese danish I was able to snag before Christmas. I would definitely keep an eye out on their Facebook pages as they seem to update things on specialty items during holidays as well as their hours. I haven't tried their pies yet but I was able to take a look and they look delicious! The bakery is slightly on the pricey side but baked goods take extra love and care! read more

I have to change my stars. Two stars for their Thanksgiving apple pies. I was so excited to buy 4 Apple pies for our family and to gift to other people. I WAS SOOOOO DISAPPOINTED!!! The apple pie filling was mushy, over cooked, and spices were overwhelming. The only tasty part was the crust, sadly. I paid well over $100 for these pies and my family was so disappointed. Their baked goods are so yummy! Macaroon are perfectly put together and we always like to try something new in their window or pastries. Bakery bliss. Belle Sucre Bakery is unlike the other bakeries in town, because this bakery does not have pan dulce, this bakery makes scones and muffins and croissants and french bread, oh my! Apart from the above mentioned items, they make gourmet pastries and macaroons, which are absolutely delicious. Yes, the place is small, two tables, but most people go in and out and don't stay to eat the pastries there. Although I have on occasion purchased coffee to have with my bread, it's still a small cute bakery to sit and enjoy your coffee and pastry. They brew Building 6 coffee, which is so cool because it's local, and they make the croissant donuts (yes cronuts, but the owner got served with papers from Ansel's Bakery in NYC, how cool is that? Lol, admittedly not that cool for the owner, but his croissant donuts are delicious!) My recommendation? I have tried many of the pastries, we ordered them for our Thanksgiving dinner, besides the eye candy, they are mouth candy, quite heavenly. Went this morning, around 10. Bought 1 cream puff ( there was only one ). My Mom turned 93 today and that's all she wanted. I did purchase a few more different pastries for her, that being said I bought some macarons for other family members, cracked , dry. Not very good. I have been here before and everything was great but this morning, not. I tipped anyway. You would think for the price it wasn't day old ( or more). And to charge for it the same as being fresh. REVIEW SOLELY BASED ON THE MACARONS! Ok, so here goes. I had heard a lot of amazing things about this place, from it being the best pastry location in El Paso to it having the best macaroons peeps have ever tried. I finally decided to go try some of these out of this world pastries, i bought one of each of the flavors they were offering at the time and i got to say, i don't get it. The pastry itself is a great combination of a somewhat crunchy outside with a good gooey center but, well i honestly wasn't taken back by it either. The macaron was good, but not something that would make me take the long drive to the far westside for this treat. I'd rather spend half the money buying a variety of Pan Dulces at a nearby bakery(Gussies). It's a good little pastry place and so far I'm judging it based solely on their macaroons so I'll be back to try everything else. Maybe the next visits will make me change my mind and "get" the product they are selling as well as change the rating. read more

After spending an hour at the post office across the street, I was feeling pretty hangry. The bakery was right across the street and I remember reading all about their delicious goodies. So around 11am I made my way into their little shop. Walked into the bakery that smelled like fresh baked bread and was greeted by the friendly staff. What exactly is a macaroon? I asked stupidly. I've never had one. The staff smiled patiently and said they are like a fresh baked cookie with a filling. They had a wonderful variety, and I was offered a free sample. I tried the pistachio macaroon and was instantly smitten. It was soft and yummy. I ordered the chocolate, orange, and rose. The rose was my favorite. I grew up eating Indian food, a lot of which is flavored with rose water, so I really enjoyed a rose flavored dessert. Think I'll have to gift a fancy box of macaroons to some of my peeps. There was a wide variety of fresh baked bread. I purchased a loaf of wheat. It's thick and soft and I don't think I'll ever get store bought wheat bread again. Mmm should be good as french toast. Or cut out the middle and cook an egg in it? Next time I'm going to try the croissants and the red velvet macaroons. read more

Belle Sucre, if you don't speak the language, is French for 'Amazeballs!' and that's exactly what you can expect to get here, amazing balls of dough expertly crafted into pure deliciousness. Not just the best French bakery, but the best bakery and the best desserts in El Paso, hands down. It's a bit of a bait-and-switch operation: they lure you with their great selection of yummy Macarons, then you start trying other things until you realize you are completely hooked! Macarons are a trendy dessert at the moment, and Belle Sucre's are top notch, but frankly, it's not even their 2nd best item. The elusive No Names, aka Croissant-Donuts are out of this world, and you will be angry the first time you realize their ability is limited. But even beyond that, the Caramel Apple Cheesecake is easily one of the best I've ever had, one bite and you will be in cheesecake heaven. Really, there's not much that you can go wrong with here, about the only issue I have with them is that they are pretty far from home and close at 6pm, and odds are there will be a line. Don't come here hungry, because you WILL buy too much, and it's not super cheap. Belle Sucre is amazing, it's not just 'El Paso good,' I've brought visitors from Austin, LA and San Francisco here without any caveats, it truly holds its own against the great dessert places across the country. read more

Bella Cora has always been my go-to bakery for years now. Everything I have ever ordered has been fresh and delicious. The only reason I left off a star is for the service I have repeatedly received at their west side location. The employees seem annoyed or bothered when I'm trying to decide what to order. They are not welcoming or friendly and if it were not for the amazing pastries, I wouldn't return. the east side location has the most welcoming employees! They are helpful and friendly and I now prefer that location to the other one. read more

Preordered some cannolis and other items for my sons birthday because he was craving them and I know they can run out so wanted to make sure I was able to get enough. I went to pick them up Monday as their web site that I ordered on stated I could. Well they are CLOSED on Monday so I'm not sure why their website ordering would allow you to even select a Monday if they're not even open. So they called me on Tuesday to ask if I still wanted my order which I explained I did want it however they were for a birthday and they weren't even open Monday when their website said I could get them and they needed to update their website and I didn't get any apologies, just a "well we can refund you". I said no I'd pick them up that day, a Tuesday, since my son really wanted a cannoli. When I went in I did get my order although the staff is not very friendly and I was going to get some Macarons but they didn't have any and I was told they only sell them on Friday and there wasn't much else in the display case so you really have to pre-order if you want something specific so hopefully they will fix their website to match when they are open as most of their stuff is good. We loved the macarons here...birthday cake was delight and milky...wonderful. But if you like Mexican hot chocolate, get the Abuelita because it tastes like it and enjoy it with a nice coffee. Listen to the lady at the counter she described everything perfectly. But the $5 Almond Croissant with almond paste and powdered sugar was good but overpriced. I guess the only thing that could be better would be if they had a Northeast or Central location so that you don't have to drive so far to the east or west side to taste their delicious treats. I was lucky enough to find this great little bakery in the El Paso Farmers Market. Just walking up to it made me gain weight. Everything looked so delicious, We took cookies and a roll looking thing with almonds on top and caramel inside. It was one of the best pastries I've ever had and I've eaten lots of them. I saw all the reviews for here so I tried it. I think I've liked all the stuff that I've got here. My favorites the nutter butter. It's two huge cookies with a peanut butter kind of middle. If you get the coffee they serve you bldg 6 coffee in a french press that's pretty cool especially for el Paso. The coffees so good I only ended up putting creamer in it. I like getting the nutter butter with the coffee. It's kind of cool to just hang out in the morning to because alot of people stop in but when its empty the staff says some funny stuff. read more

Amazing macroons with a great assortment of flavors!!! Their tarts and pastries all looked deliciously gorgeous too but my wallet was only macroon friendly for the time being. It was 5 for $10 but they are huge compared to a few other macroons I've had that were even pricier. Plus im a fiend for a good baguette bread and their freshly baked ones are so good! My husband and i love making pizzas using baguettes and theirs made us a good and hearty one. Im definitely coming back for more and trying out a tart next time. As a huge fan of Ripe & Tom's when word got out that the baker of the marvelous breads they use at these fines establishment was opening up his own bakery, I was extremely excited. Although it took me a few months to get out to Belle Sucre, I'm happy I decided to try it when I did. I went early the morning before Thanksgiving to try my luck at picking up some of their handmade seasonal pies. I was able to get the Salted Caramel Pecan Pie and the Spiced Pumpkin Pie. As I was waiting for them to sort of their preorders, I saw them heaping ladels of caramel onto the pies and my mouth was watering. The pies were delicious and a HUGE hit with my family (and myself). The whipped cream on the pumpkin pie was piped fresh and tasted amazing. I also purchased one of the breakfast scones with ham and cheese baked inside. I was expecting it to be room temperature, but it was nice and warm and seriously so good. I almost went back to buy another (my mouth is watering while I type this). Having a bakery like Belle Sucre in the neighborhood is why I love how much El Paso is growing. El Paso is growing out of the francesitos and sweet bread into hand crafted bread and pastries. Don't get me wrong, I love my sweet bread but Belle Sucre has been the breath of fresh air this bread lover needed! read more

I've heard a lot about this place! I was really excited to finally jump on the El Paso bandwagon and try it out. I walked in and ... The display was empty. It looked...dead. Crickets...crickets.... They had a few desserts next to the register but just a couple in the display case. Poor them. I figured they were going out of business. That kind of scared me off. I was wrong though. Turns out the display case was broken and they had to take out the pastries. The woman told us that the dessert options change every month or so, and that there was always something new to try. I ordered a pistachio macaroon, and my fiends ordered a vanilla and a rose macaroon. I didn't care to much for the macaroon because I thought it was going to be sweet. It was more chewy than anything. The rose one legitimately tastes like a rose. They were not bad at all but I probably would try something new next time I went. The only caffeine option they have is a regular coffee. I kind of wish they had a variety. We ordered two more desserts to keep trying new things...a lemon bar (good if you like really sour things) and another pastry, but I do not remember what it's called. That last one was pretty good! The service was nice, and many people continually kept coming in and out. We stuck around for about two hours at a table (they only have two tables btw) and we never once felt rushed by the employees. It was pretty chill. The best croissants I've ever had. A good variety of delicious scones. Cranberry-orange are the best but there's no complaining either the blueberry and maple-bacon. I could spend the day in here and die happy. Loaf breads are only available on Friday and Saturday and you can order specialty cakes. This a great little family owned and operated bakery. Tonight I'm having raspberry pistachio tort for dessert. So good. It's a bit pricier than some but this ain't Dunkin' or Krispy. You won't regret paying a little more. read more
