Lots of different pieces for entertaining as well. The space is large and unassuming which I like. There's premium items so you know you're going to get a lot of wear for the quality.

I saw an announcement for the grand opening of this furniture store in Mission Valley. I called and expressed my interest in buying a vintage looking couch in a bright raspberry-ish color. I know; that seemed like a stretch for the furniture stores here in SD. Paul assured me that his coworker Sandi had experience in both retro design and color, and that he'd be happy to send her over to my home for a consult. He told me that there was a fee for the service, but it would be then applied to anything that I purchased. When I told him that would be fine if I could be guaranteed of said design and color options, he said he'd be happy to send her over without a fee. That was a nice first impression! Soon thereafter, bright and cheery and ever so knowledgeable Sandi arrived with a big smile that matched her positive attitude. She measured, looked at the current state of my living room for color, texture and style, as well as asked me for color/style ideas. After providing her with those things, we made an appointment for me to go to the showroom. In the next couple of days-- even before my appointment, she had sent me a couple of sofa shape options as well as a spot on fabric color. Oh my goodness-- a miracle worker! At my meeting with her in the store, she had me test out the sofas for cushion level comfort and depth. Then, it was easier to narrow down my choices. I was there for a couple of hours. I was thrilled that we were pretty much on the same page about what would work-- as well as our collective philosophy of "thinking outside the box". Accordingly, we came up with a fabulous design-- incorporating design elements from 3 different sofas. As if that wasn't enough, the next day she came over-- again, to fine tune both the shape and dimensions, to assure that it would work wonderfully in my home. My new raspberry colored retri couch will arrive any day now, and I am dying to see it! I can't say enough about Sandi and her level of customized customer service---such an anomaly here in San Diego. Please go visit them at their Mission Valley locale-- and tell them that I sent you. You will thank me later, for sure! Enjoy!

I struggled giving this location the five stars it would deserve if they had good staff who provided exceptional customer service and were knowledgeable about the products. Unfortunately they fall short in that area. This has been an issue every time I shop here. Today. The cashier didn't even greet me and there were no words between us throughout the entire transaction. I know if I owned this business I wouldn't be disappointed with the employees and I'd ensure they received extensive customer service training. I hope the management can make some improvements as far as service so this store will continue to thrive in this location.

I asked a simple question at checkout whether the store would ever start accepting Apple Pay. Instead of just saying she didn't know or giving a straightforward answer, the assistant manager (her name was something like Bridget/Bethany/Bertha started with a B) gave me a whole lecture in front of a long line of customers. She went on about how she would have to contact corporate, how there are thousands of stores, and basically made me feel like I was bothering her for asking a normal customer question. Her tone was extremely passive-aggressive and dismissive very hostile. On top of that, the store was very busy, customers were waiting, and she seemed more focused on closing lines than actually helping anyone. Her overall behavior felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. I've never had an employee make me feel embarrassed for simply asking about a payment option. I hope corporate takes this seriously, because customer service should never make people feel talked down to or humiliated I'd rather take my business to Walmart from now on.

I didn't run out of space to display my new hobby, I simply did not have anything. Display Geek is a great solution. My shipment arrived about 3 days after ordering, and it came in a flat white "Ebay" taped box. Upon opening the box, there was a flat of unassembled cardboard plus 2 other flats which were the shelves. I'm not the savviest person in building stuff but after about 15-20 minutes tinkering with the first of 3 displays, I got the kit built. The 2nd and 3rd one took a fraction of the time. Overall first impression? Not bad. Sure its cardboard, but its a display, not permanent furniture. 3 stacks of the displays comes to about 5-feet tall (I'm 4'9" btw) and fits perfects in a little nook in my bedroom. The FAQ on the website recommended using a certain screw to mount the display, but someone said they used the Command Hooks and it worked just fine. I realized even though I am a "newbie" I quickly ran out of shelf space displaying my Funko Pop toys inside the box. So I mixed it up and took some out, and turned the box sideways, while the ones that are more "rare" or I didn't want out of the box displayed perfectly facing outwards. I could squeeze 35 Funko Pop! boxes per shelf when I mixed the orientation. 3 pack cost about $75 and free shipping. I lucked out and they had a post comic-con discount code, saving me $11. Great solution if you want to display your Pop addiction.

Bitter that I would give them a 4, and sweet because I do love the random finds at a good value there! Overcrowded aisles, product everywhere, associates busy, random finds in each department. It's enough to make a sane person go mad! But, it's a place you go in knowing you're to be overwhelmed. Whether you're looking for containers for your restroom, some new kicks and jeans to wear them with, or a new pan to cook at home with, pretty sure you'll find it here. I wholeheartedly recommend Marshalls if you need something in particular or if you just want to browse the Overcrowded, overwhelming aisles and see what you find. Limited Edition Star Wars Admiral Ackbar FunkoPop head looks great on my dresser.

Still doesn't have as nice of a clothing selection as TJ Maxx, but I was overall very impressed. Yesterday on my trip to TJ Maxx, I forgot to get salt shaker and a vegetable peeler. So after having dinner nearby, I decided maybe Marshalls might carry those things. Not only did they have them, but their cookware section was very nicely organized, and well stocked. In and out and got everything I needed quickly.
