While they work on hourly consult rates which is a refreshing option for many of us, on a recent project, my business was clearly not valued. Calls and emails were not returned for days or weeks, plans not sent as promised, all eventually resolved through my repeated follow-ups. The justified reason is that a bigger client was requiring all their time. Customer Service 101. I pay my invoices on time and without question. I will set aside the sales tax issue which required multiple emails to be resolved. The last straw was the requirement to pay for a 4th consult by a sharp deadline or my consult would be canceled. What choice did I have? I will find an interior design firm that will appreciate my business.

I then met with a few designers at Arizona Tile and everyone kept showing me stone backsplash or a white ceramic tile backsplash. I knew that wasn't the look I wanted for my kitchen but I had no idea what it was I was looking for. I wanted something light, bright, classic but with a sandy look as we live near the beach. I contacted Carole and she immediately had a suggestion to look at large glass tiles. She had a few at home for me to look at and then met me at Arizona Tile to pick the perfect color. She suggested I go with the 4x12 Matte Islandia Lanai tile and it was exactly what I was wanting. She then helped me find the perfect grout and suggested I do the traditional subway style to give me a more classic look. After weeks of debating, Carole helped me pick out and design my backsplash in under an hour. Two weeks later our fabricator went to pick up our two slabs and found out that our perfect countertop had been double sold and was on its way to Las Vegas. We were in a panic. This was going to delay our kitchen project weeks. I called Carole and she dropped everything and met me at Arizona Tile to go through numerous lots of similar slabs. Nothing was right. Some were too brown, others too green. Carole insisted that they bring out more slabs for us and we managed to find two slabs that were possibly even prettier than my original ones. Project was back underway and only delayed by one day. I can't thank Carole enough for helping me with the design of my kitchen remodel. She made what was stressful into a fun, easy project. We are getting ready to remodel our master bathroom and I'm definitely having Carole help me with the tile and backsplash design.

Additionally, the language barrier with contractors was difficult to navigate when questions regarding materials came up. We had to use a translation app multiple times and communicate with the designer and project manager to clear things up, which could have been avoided by designating materials in advance so workers knew what was needed/where to find them. Knowing what kind of work was going to be done each day would've also been helpful. Izabela our designer was very friendly, respectful, and attentive to my design preferences. She also always communicated in a timely manner. Derek our project manager replaced Ben through the construction process so we didn't communicate as often but he was always friendly and considerate to our needs, and available if we had questions. Ultimately, we're very pleased with the result and excited to have a beautiful, functional bathroom!
