And it was amazing to see the difference between what an honest company like Restorion sends the insurance company vs a dishonest company, which is what I had to deal with a few years prior. Also very helpful to have the water mitigation people also be the restorer, otherwise so many derails can be lost between the two companies. The restorer won't know what the basement looked like beforehand and that can lead to gaps. Also for dishonest companies I think they use the two separate companies to juice their returns and to do less restoring work.

The Rot Doctor did an excellent job from start to finish. They carefully removed the rotten siding, boards, and supports while temporarily supporting the wall, then installed a new pressure-treated sill, water-resistant siding, flashing, and belly band, with everything properly caulked and sealed. The workmanship was very high quality. All the cuts were precise, with clean lines, no gaps, and everything felt sturdy and well-built. They also went above and beyond by replacing and reinforcing some warped supports that weren't originally part of the scope. They were experienced and clearly knew how to approach the job, and they were great to work with throughout. Communication and customer service were excellent--we were able to discuss the work as it progressed and adjust the scope when needed. They were punctual, worked efficiently, and completed the entire job in just three days. The pricing was also competitive. So, when my portable AC leaked onto my flooring last night, I knew who I was going to contact. I called when they opened, and found out that he was booked for the next week. I decided to send him a message to see if there was a company he would recommend to me. He actually responded immediately and said that he'd be able to squeeze me in! You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. It's difficult finding people that take pride in their work, are trustworthy, and do a great job.
