After we ripped up the entire carpeted space and treated it--I wanted info from a professional to see if there was anything else that we needed to do before getting the affected slab ground down and polished. I spoke with several companies who were unhelpful over the phone or charging ridiculous fees just to come out and provide an estimate. Mathew, the owner of Puget Sound Water Rescue was timely in his responsiveness over the Yelp App (on a Sunday afternoon) and ultimately provided us the perspective and information that we needed to determine whether or not professional remediation services were warranted at this point. Ultimately we determined with his help that they were not. Despite the fact that we did not end up hiring (anyone), his knowledge, honesty, and helpfulness were 5 stars worthy. Highly recommend talking to and/or Mathew for your remediation needs!

So, when my portable AC leaked onto my flooring last night, I knew who I was going to contact. I called when they opened, and found out that he was booked for the next week. I decided to send him a message to see if there was a company he would recommend to me. He actually responded immediately and said that he'd be able to squeeze me in! You have no idea how grateful I was to hear that. He gave me two time options, and called me when he was on the way. I had no idea how much water had made its way into my flooring, so I was preparing myself for the worst. Turns out, it didn't end up being a catastrophe! Matthew used a thermal camera, and a moisture meter to inspect for moisture on the floor/subfloor and flex ducting. Once again, he was thorough at his job, and in his communication. It's difficult finding people that take pride in their work, are trustworthy, and do a great job. I've had quite a few companies do various types of jobs for me, and there are only two who I'd recommend. Mathew with Puget Sound Water Rescue is one of them!

Their team quickly identified the source of the moisture using professional moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras, which gave us confidence that the root cause was being addressed instead of just treating the symptoms. They carefully removed all affected materials while maintaining proper containment. After the demolition, they thoroughly cleaned the area using HEPA vacuums and commercial-grade air scrubbers. What really impressed us was that they went beyond the required scope by sanitizing and wiping down surrounding areas to make sure everything was clean and safe. The project was completed professionally, on schedule, and with excellent communication throughout the process. Best of all, the property passed the mold clearance test on the first attempt, allowing our reconstruction to move forward without any delays. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, honest, and detail-oriented restoration company, I highly recommend Green Planet Restoration. Their expertise, advanced equipment, and commitment to doing the job right truly set them apart.

The night before floor…read morecontractors were scheduled to come to our home, David cold-called us about replacing the flooring. He was able to come out that evening to provide an estimate, which we appreciated and accepted. We later discovered that this visit resulted in an after-hours charge of nearly $500, something we were not aware of at the time. While at our home, David discovered that some areas had not been completely dried by the first company. Because we had an active insurance claim, and with our permission, he immediately arranged for his crew to continue the drying process. At first, we felt he was knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely focused on our needs. Our insurance company requested that a third party inspect and confirm some of the issues David had identified. David insisted on being present during that inspection. The situation was uncomfortable, and we were later surprised to see an additional $119 charge for his involvement. Five days later, we contacted the original company about their failure to completely dry the affected areas. They acknowledged the issue, wanted to make things right, and asked for the opportunity to earn our business back. We therefore notified Green Planet that we were ending their services. Unfortunately, this is when our experience changed considerably. The tone and attitude toward us became harsh and uncomfortable. Although we had understood that the mitigation work would be handled through our insurance claim, we were suddenly told the bill needed to be paid by us immediately. We were also contacted by a collections company and told that if the bill wasn't paid by Friday, a lien would be placed on our home. We were disappointed by the way the situation was handled. Our initial impression was that customer needs were the priority, but once we decided not to continue using the company, we felt the relationship changed dramatically. Our experience is ultimately a reminder to carefully review all charges and understand the payment terms before allowing work to begin--especially when insurance is involved. Updated Review -- Originally 2 Stars We initially left a 2-star review because of our experience with Green Planet during a water-damage situation. We had significant concerns about several charges on our invoice, the handling of our insurance claim, and the way our relationship changed after we decided not to continue with the company. After seeing our reviews, Green Planet reached out to us and asked for the opportunity to make things right. We had a lengthy conversation, they listened to our concerns, and they offered to refund $500, which represents the charges we had disputed. I appreciate that the company was willing to listen and take action. Because they made an effort to address our concerns, I have changed our rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. That said, I do want to be honest that this resolution came only after we had posted our concerns publicly. We had previously tried to resolve the issues directly, including asking the company to work with us while our insurance claim was being processed, but we did not feel heard at that point. I'm glad we were eventually able to have a productive conversation and reach a financial resolution. My hope is that Green Planet will take this experience to heart and improve communication with customers from the beginning--especially when dealing with stressful situations involving water damage and insurance. Our original experience was disappointing, but I do appreciate their willingness to come back to the table and try to make it right.

When Ray came out to view my crawlspace and do the estimate, he indicated that he would be on top of things, but that was not the case. I never saw him again. Ray did not supervise his workers at all and they did something quite stupid! My crawlspace is almost 6 feet high and, therefore, stand-able and the dirt was very level. There are also shelves along two walls where I have Christmas decorations and other items stored. However, instead of running the necessary trench under the shelving, they ran it in front of the shelves and then did not put enough dirt back to even the ground. So the crawlspace is now a major fall hazard and Ray has refused to come back and fix the problem. At 72 years old, I don't want to wind up down in the crawlspace screaming, "I have fallen and I can't get up!", because I live alone and no one will hear me!

The water proceeded to run down into our basement damaging insulation and adding a layer of water to the basement floor. Once we were able to stop the water from continuing to flow onto the floors, we immediately called Washington Water Damage. Jeff came out that evening to perform a high level assessment of the damage. The very next morning he had an entire crew at the house and they began the process of recording the damage for our insurance, performing the demo work needed to remove the damaged flooring and preparing the damaged areas for the drying process. I could not be happier with the performance of Jeff's team. They were efficient, clean and extremely professional. They constantly kept my wife and I informed of each step so that we always had a solid understanding of the process and what to expect next. Once Jeff's team had completed the demo and drying process, Mike came directly out to the house to assess the restoration stage of the process. He handled everything from ordering new flooring materials to providing the proper paint for the drywall areas that had to be replaced. Once the materials for the flooring arrived from the manufacturer, Mike's team promptly began their work on the restoration. I was blown away by how quickly the team was able to bring everything back to the way it was. The quality of their work was excellent. The new hardwood floors that were installed looked so much better than they did prior to the damage. The drywall and exposed insulation looks great. They took care to make sure that all of the molding was reinstalled and repainted. Their workmanship really speaks for itself. They even handled most of the paperwork with our homeowner's insurance. The only part they didn't handle was what the insurance required me to complete. I'm very appreciative to the entire Washington Water Damage team for all of their help through this stressful time. I strongly suggest you consider them if you ever find yourself in need of a damage mitigation and restoration service.

They took great care to protect our home and furniture and make sure there is minimal disruption during the process. Jose also personally examined the work at every single stage to ensure the quality, which gave us great peace of mind. Restorion does high-quality work, but more importantly, they are kind, honest people who genuinely care about their customers. We are incredibly grateful for their help.

Our loss took over 4 months to resolve, and the process was a nightmare from start to finish. We were bounced between multiple project managers throughout the job, with zero continuity or accountability. The final project manager we dealt with was the worst of all -- more concerned with the company's bottom line than with actually fixing our home. He was upfront about needing to protect their profit margin, which told us everything about where their priorities were. They billed our insurance for the full scope of work approved, but did not complete that scope. Their pricing wasn't based on what the job actually cost to do right -- it was based on what they could extract from the insurance payout. That's not restoration work, that's a business model built around maximizing what they can bill, not what they deliver. Reading through the other reviews here, ours stood out as far more negative than most. As a Black family, that made us wonder whether our experience would have gone differently with another company, or whether we were treated with less care and respect than other customers seem to have received. If you're dealing with an insurance claim and considering this company, save yourself the headache. Get a second opinion, get everything in writing, and document every interaction. We wish we had gone with literally anyone else.
