I think they have good stuff. They are getting ready for Christmas in early September. Well, okay. It's okay.

Belk is still one of my go to stores when looking for something specific. Their Sales Staff is thin but helpful if you really need them.

I highly recommend you seek them out to shop with them specifically when you visit the Durham, NC Nordstrom location. They are highly knowledgeable about cosmetics and men's grooming products. They can even help you continue shopping with them throughout the rest of the store so you're not wasting time looking for an associate or ringing up at the register. Every employee I interacted with was extremely helpful and nice. I think we were asked if we needed help in every single section. I will say there's definitely a lot smaller of a selection compared to the Charlotte location. Specifically in jewelry and purses. The jewelry section was extremely lacking which was disappointing because that's what I went for. But I ended up getting a cute coach purse anyway! Even though it's smaller, it's still nice to shop & everyone was so nice. The surrounding area is also really cute with lots of stores and restaurants.

Meadowmont Village is the place my wife and I have visited the most during our time in Chapel Hill…read more(2020-2024), mainly because of the Harris Teeter here, but also because of the property's restaurants and other businesses. This is a nice mixed-use development on the east side of Chapel Hill, close to the Durham border. It's just a short drive down highway 54 from I-40 exit 273 and it's not far from 15-501 either. Meadowmont Village sets itself apart from competition in the area by simply being nicer with a cleaner and more elevated atmosphere. The architectural design, layout, and landscaping make it a quaint, relaxing place to walk around. The tenant mix is a good combination of chain and local. This isn't a bigger, destination-type development like Fenton in Cary. Instead, it's smaller and quieter, and that's part of the appeal. It's never felt crowded or uncomfortable all the times I've been here. It's easy to get in and out and there always seems to be just the right amount of people, even when it's busy (e.g., active patios at Brixx, Bluebird, and Kahlovera). There's a pond and trails nearby and overall, the entire neighborhood is well-kept. When we first moved to the area, my wife and I frequented the Harris Teeter up 54 at Hope Valley Commons in Durham. We then switched to the Harris Teeter at Meadowmont Village because it's more secluded and has a calmer, more peaceful environment (inside and out). While I think the Harris Teeter at Hope Valley Commons is a little bigger with a slightly wider variety of inventory, that difference hasn't been big enough for us to switch back to the Hope Valley Commons Harris Teeter as our primary Harris Teeter. Below is a list of businesses at Meadowmont Village that we've been to so far. I've left Yelp reviews for most of them. It contains a conference center and hotel and is home to the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School's Executive Development programs and the historic DuBose Home: https://www.yelp.com/biz/rizzo-center-chapel-hill

But if that doesn't apply to you then this fancy shopping area will work out fine. They're trying to be European and stuff, and it's cute. Reminds me of some of the fancier parts of Northern Virginia or Maryland, but it's not cheap here. It's a cute brand-new shiny shopping center with some boba tea and some desserts and some food and a lot of high-end shops. They tried to make it like a little shopping Village and while it does seem fake it and contrived, it also is a really nice place to hang out and get some stuff - and it's peaceful and safe and quiet and reminds me of Virginia in some ways.

Despite all the hustle and bustle of Black Friday, all of the employees were very friendly, and I was helped several times. I went in wanting to buy a new purse and a coat, and I was not disappointed. I first went up to the second floor to check out the coats, and I had two different people offer to help me. My only complaint would be one of the sales representatives was pretty pushy. Her English wasn't great, so maybe I was just experiencing a conflicting cultural norm. She asked us immediately if we were going to open a credit card with them, and I understand sales quotas, and that's fine that she asked, but we didn't really have time to stand around and discuss if we were going to do that, with the way merchandise was flying off the shelves. We sort of blew her off to get back to browsing coats. I selected a coat, and we handed it off to the same lady, to go check out the purses. She was very adamant that we return to her, for checkout. We went to check out purses, and I decided on a vanilla Michael Kors bag, that was on a great sale. I needed help having the bag removed from its security clip, and a lady in a different department quickly came to help. She even trusted me to walk the unsecure bag from the purse department to the coat department. A bit risky though. We went back to the original lady for checkout, and she demanded that we NOT use the lane that was empty, because she needed credit for our credit card, that we never even said we were going to open. My boyfriend kind of gave in to opening one, because we wanted the discount. After we opened it, she just kind of assumed we were going to be using it to pay for our items and that wasn't the case. When I explained to her that we didn't want to use the credit card to pay for it, she made a big deal about how she, "already asked me about that." As a said.. a pretty strong language barrier here. All in all, we ended up getting crazy deals. I got a two hundred dollar coat and a two hundred dollar bag for like... 140 bucks. I'll take that, even if I have to deal with a few minor inconveniences. Not to mention the atmosphere at South Point can't be beat.

***** for the actual sales associates and cashiers, who were friendly and skilled at their jobs…read more _ for the depressing and stifling atmosphere, broken escalator, and single checkout location at the far end of the store which added at least 30 minutes to our visit, many of which were spent packed in line with everyone else. _ for the clientele you'll be shopping with: poorly mannered children punching and kicking each other and their mom and rudely demanding their toys, foul-mouthed parents yelling obscenities at them, adults queuing up right over your shoulder and in your personal space as you try to pay... You will need ear plugs, deep breathing exercises, and a great deal of tolerance to withstand the shopping experience here. That said, they are the only store at Southpoint to have what we were looking for, in Thanksgiving mens holiday wear. Regardless, we may shop Penney's online, but never put ourselves through an in-person visit to this location again.
