If you are a JCPenney shopper, this store may meet your needs. For me, I'm sad to say that I can never find anything in JCPenney. In true transparency, that may be due to my personal preferences in certain name brands, style, and quality. ***** for the actual sales associates and cashiers, who were friendly and skilled at their jobs. _ for the depressing and stifling atmosphere, broken escalator, and single checkout location at the far end of the store which added at least 30 minutes to our visit, many of which were spent packed in line with everyone else. _ for the clientele you'll be shopping with: poorly mannered children punching and kicking each other and their mom and rudely demanding their toys, foul-mouthed parents yelling obscenities at them, adults queuing up right over your shoulder and in your personal space as you try to pay... You will need ear plugs, deep breathing exercises, and a great deal of tolerance to withstand the shopping experience here. That said, they are the only store at Southpoint to have what we were looking for, in Thanksgiving mens holiday wear. Regardless, we may shop Penney's online, but never put ourselves through an in-person visit to this location again. read more

Would not recommend the photo studio at all. Bought a Groupon - value over $210 for family photo shoot. Arrived on time for our booking, had to wait 30 minutes as there was only one staff member- Antionette, and she was busy with another family. We were told we only have 15 minutes for this photo shoot, which is crazy! If we needed more time it would be $25 extra for every 15 min. Everything was so rushed. My husband had to leave shortly after to get back to work...Then we were told that we had to pay another almost $200 which included 40% off, for digital prints. There were only 20 digital prints at most, some photos had big gap on one side, some photos we would not be able to use as my blouse was open at the buttons and I was not told. We were told to pay and wait an hour for digital prints.. we are still waiting. Called the store after twice and emailed- no response. This whole experience was a disaster and waste of time and 'daylight robbery' - Do not waste your money at this photo studio. read more

Photo studio was double booked. Our 6 PM appointment didn't start until 6:50. We didn't leave until after 8. It was so miserably hot in the studio and waiting area. We felt lightheaded from how hot it was. We missed our dinner plans because of how long it took. Our photographer was great, everything else was kind of a mess. read more

I scheduled an appointment about a month out for 2:00 p.m. They waited until the day of, 30 minutes before our appointment, to text us and let us know that they were canceling the appointment due to their photographer having the flu. I understand things happen, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time before getting my 3 kids ready and paying for my makeup to be done hours before. Especially since there was ample amount of time to let us know. We lived about an hour out the way so we wasted time, money, and gas. I would not recommend this location to take portraits. read more

The photo department cancelled our engagement/Christmas photos 4.5 hours before our session today. It wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't call us 3 times within the last 2 days to confirm our appointment and ask details about props, etc. This is unacceptable and they have no openings for photos for the next 2 weeks! You can get some great deals , they mail you coupons, get them out of the paper and DL them on the Internet. They will let you combine them for a $avings the will make your toes curl. For instance, a leather coat retail $360.00 . On sale in store for $230.00. 25 % coupon = $172.50 , 15% coupon for spending $150.00 plus = $146.63, store wide coupon 15% = $124.64, $25.00 coupon = $99.64. I went to this location during Black Friday. It was actually Thursday evening when I went, and I was there when the doors opened. Despite all the hustle and bustle of Black Friday, all of the employees were very friendly, and I was helped several times. I went in wanting to buy a new purse and a coat, and I was not disappointed. I first went up to the second floor to check out the coats, and I had two different people offer to help me. My only complaint would be one of the sales representatives was pretty pushy. Her English wasn't great, so maybe I was just experiencing a conflicting cultural norm. She asked us immediately if we were going to open a credit card with them, and I understand sales quotas, and that's fine that she asked, but we didn't really have time to stand around and discuss if we were going to do that, with the way merchandise was flying off the shelves. We sort of blew her off to get back to browsing coats. I selected a coat, and we handed it off to the same lady, to go check out the purses. She was very adamant that we return to her, for checkout. We went to check out purses, and I decided on a vanilla Michael Kors bag, that was on a great sale. I needed help having the bag removed from its security clip, and a lady in a different department quickly came to help. She even trusted me to walk the unsecure bag from the purse department to the coat department. A bit risky though. We went back to the original lady for checkout, and she demanded that we NOT use the lane that was empty, because she needed credit for our credit card, that we never even said we were going to open. My boyfriend kind of gave in to opening one, because we wanted the discount. After we opened it, she just kind of assumed we were going to be using it to pay for our items and that wasn't the case. When I explained to her that we didn't want to use the credit card to pay for it, she made a big deal about how she, "already asked me about that." As a said.. a pretty strong language barrier here. All in all, we ended up getting crazy deals. I got a two hundred dollar coat and a two hundred dollar bag for like... 140 bucks. I'll take that, even if I have to deal with a few minor inconveniences. Not to mention the atmosphere at South Point can't be beat. read more

This is a review for the Sephora in JCPenney. I don't particularly like the stand alone shop in the mall. I never get good service there. If you go a little further you will find a wonderfully supplied Sephora in JCP with great customer service. If you need help I would go here first. As you can see from my picture, I probably wear too much makeup. I know. But although I have but one face I am always fascinated to try new colors, pots and pans of the latest color iterations. But I am picky about where I shop. I won't go in an Ulta, some makeup departments and definitely pass up and go to JCP. The girls that work there are so sweet and generally have more time to help you play around. No high pressure sales just conversation and girl talk. They have some different palettes that the other Sephora doesn't carry that is just for JCP so you might find something you like better there or fits the bill. I kind of like having the store to myself but thought I would share this with you if you wanted to not be crowded out or left unassisted. read more

I've shopped here a few times and have always had decent service. The clothing they have now is very different from how the store used to be so I appreciate the company revitalizing itself. Came in here to return an item and there was no manned register on the main floor! Once i tracked down an associate, she said she was unauthorized to complete the return and would get a manager. One hour later I finally was able to talk to a manager and was told to come back next week as the general manager wasn't there. It is disappointing that the store doesn't have proper management on staff or authorized representatives to assist customers. I do acknowledge that the few associates tried to help, but that doesn't outshine the overall negative experience. I would highly suggest not shopping here unless you have a lot of time to spare! read more
