This is super cool mall! With the decline in the mall culture, The Streets at Soutpoint continues to keep itself updated with the latest merchandise and restaurant trends. It's staying in business by trying new ideas and making sure that it continues to bring in customers. The size of the mall seems a lot easier to manage due to the perfect number of stores without it being too overwhelming. It's not forcing stores to go out of business because they are competing with similar stores. Seems like they have that under control. The mall is also clean, which is a plus! It seems shiny and new all the time. It can get busy here on Saturdays, especially the nighttime when the young folks like to come out and hang out. I try to avoid it during those times because it can get a little ghetto and obnoxious (can't stand teenagers). I prefer the weekdays when it's a lot quieter, where I can shop and walk in peace. Third mall I've been to in the N.C. area and by far the better one. Review based on my experience compared to S.Cal malls. Stores - You have an ok selection of stores to choose from, didn't really see much high end stores. Mall - The property is a decent size but not as big and the limits the number of stores, but they do have nice outside areas with sculptures and places to chill. Food - Food court is a good size, but they do have some good restaurants to choose from outside of the mall. Grounds - Well kept up and clean inside and out. This mall is very large. There are both an indoor and outdoor portion to the mall. There are loads of anchor stores, shops and kiosks. Inside the mall there is a food court and outside there are several stand along restaurants. The mall is clean and well kept. I was able to pop into a lot of the stores inside the mall and all of the shops in the outside portion. The mall has some high end shops but most stores are reasonably priced. Easily my favorite shopping mall in the Triangle. Conveniently located off the 40 and right in the center of it all. The selection and modern design of this shopping center makes it a great choice for all your shopping needs. There isn't a store they do not have here ! They have stores I have never been to. Today I discovered a new Hot Topic partner "Box Lunch". They sell a wide selection of accessories from Disney, Marvel and a gamer's paradise. Love this store ! I bought an adorable Princess Tiana Kitchen towel and oven mitt set. I also love the Southern lifestyle store Palmetto Moon on the first level. Adorable. This mall is home to all my favorites Sephora, Nordstrom, Victoria's Secret, Gap, Cheesecake Factory, White Barn and Bath & Body. There are so many specialty stores here for gifts that you would like to give. The layout and design of this mall is very alluring. It's spacious and elegant. Designed with beautiful brick to be reminiscent of street shopping. Beautiful statues and the leveling is done in taste. It really reminds me of the shoppes in Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace. A great shopping experience. Parking is plentiful, the streets are clean and you feel safe walking around the streets and also the enclosed traditional mall portion as well. The wide array of stores is impressive. It ranges from Nordstrom to Belk and for at least the time being JC Penney, but they are closing stores so who knows. There are many restaurants and also a food court in the mall portion. They have an actual book store. Think about that an actual bookstore, so few exist anymore it is nice to have a place to wander around and look at literature and magazines. read more

This is one of the nicer malls in the Raleigh-Durham area. The mall is always busy, and for good reason. Let's start with the design, the design was well thought out, and well executed. It has stores both inside and outside. There is the inside life for those that want the traditional indoor mall experience. But then the outdoor shops open up shopping to a whole new level with the ability to get fresh air, experience street performers, see the fountain, or just skip along. With food, inside you have your traditional fast food mall food court. Outside, you have your higher-class restaurants to choose from with a variety of choices. Absolutely my favorite mall in the area. There are plenty of stores, food options and parking! I love how clean the mall is. It's not run down and the movie theatre is on the premises. Probably the best mall in the Triangle Area, with a good selection of stores and restaurants. Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh has been around for a lot longer but lately seems to have more turnover than this mall. Part of the mall with department stores in indoors, and then there is an outdoor portion that resembles a plaza. I know some people drive from Wake County just to visit Nordstrom's. There is also a movie theater, Barnes & Noble, Apple store and more. It can get crowded during holiday shopping season but people in the know can park at an office park off of Hwy. 54 and take the pedestrian bridge over I-40. There's my little pro tip to offer. read more

This mall is always enjoyable to roam about. Don't have to be shopping necessarily to enjoy this place. They have great food options, with nice restaurants, and also a Cheesecake Factory close by. #winning Great parking close by, without having to walk very far. They have entertainment usually outside in the walk way, with lights that come on by dark. The ambiance is so nice here, really do like coming to this particular mall. Good store options, even a Nordstrom. They have a food court inside, as well restaurants outdoors with outdoor seating. Toilets are clean. For Covid19 they could be maintaining more social distancing, which is my only qualm. Why have a line outside the store waiting to get in, when that line itself is not monitored for social distancing? Defeats the purpose in my opinion. Also in the toilets, the queue for the women's should also be implementing social distancing. Those were the aspects of my trip which made me slightly wary and on edge during these times! This is one of our favorite malls - bright, clean, loaded with first rate retail and food court locations (inside the covered area and stand alone spots) - it is the polar opposite of the disaster at Four Seasons in Greensboro, but at least we're building up all sorts of nifty bars downtown with fewer shootings, and are rapidly putting lipstick on the notorious pig, previously known as High Point Road (end of rant). Retail spots include Abercrombie & Fitch, Belks, Ann Taylor, Crate & Barrel, Crocs, J Crew, The Limited, Macy's, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Talbot's, and 152 more. The food court is no less clean and bright than the rest of the mall, and the food choices are very nice, and the seating area is huge. Porchetta is a local favorite, offering a form of Italian style slow roasted pork & more - and it now occupies the space formerly housing the fading 5 Guys Burgers. The Chinese space, MaxOrient has 8 or 10 steaming entrees to select from, and they all looked fresh & attractive, better than any stand alone Chinese buffet I've seen lately. And there is much more. There's a nice pizza spot, one that offers a variety of Asian noodles, a Japanese hibachi place, and much more. read more

I mean, it's a mall. You go there bc you need something (unless you're a kid who goes to hang out, I guess). As far as malls go this one has a good variety of stores. I like the indoor spaces and outdoor spaces. The food court is great- I love how they have local eateries like American Meltdown. It's nice having an Apple Store in Durham, when I know many cities don't have these at all. The plants inside and the fountains outside are really attractive and elevate the mall. Southpoint has a Nordstrom as one of the anchors, which is probably the most special thing. I don't think we have another Nordstrom in the whole Triangle. The movie theater is also pretty awesome. Parking can be tough- don't even think about going here in Black Friday unless you have a greater desire for adventure than I do. :) read more

South Point happens to be the hottest mall in the area in my opinion. Here you will find all of the most elite stores as well as a few mediocre stores that aren't so high end. This mall features the only Nordstrom around and its super clean inside. This mall has a great concept with the outdoor section and the inside portion. The security is always on high alert at this mall. There is always a lot of foot traffic and the mall is always packed. Parking is great for it to be such a busy spot. I do hate the fact that they have only one set of public restrooms and they sit in the middle of the mall. That's not enough to make me take a star away :) read more

It's everything you'd expect from a mall with a couple perks. The Streets are lovely, an open, outdoor mall feel with fountains, live music in the summer, seating but hardly any shade. The Streets have "fancier" i.e. more expensive restaurants if you want something other then the food court. AMC is your typical mall movie theater and your stores range from a candy shop [It's Sugar], clothing [Free People, Urban Outfitters, Lululemon, Brooks Brothers, Anthropology], kitchen ware [Sur la Table], furniture [West Elm, Crate & Barrel, all the Pottery Barns] electronics [Apple], books [Barnes & Noble] and a handful of things I'm sure I left out. Inside the mall you've got some fancy perks: rocking chairs that face out with a lovely view of the streets (on the second floor) and "charging stations" for electronics with chairs and a little table [FREE!] You'll find your typical mall stores: Tevana, Loft, Gap, Black & White Market, AE, Francesca's, William Sonoma, Bath & Body, Vicky's Secret, J Crew, Bare Minerals, JC Penny, Macy's, Belk, etc. etc. etc. (I got go on and go, hopefully you've been in a mall before and get the picture). Also, check out the cafe in Nordstrom's, hidden gem for sammy's and coffee. Southpoint Mall meets my shopping needs when necessary (I'm not a huge shopper) and it's well air conditioned with plenty of parking all around the mall. Although it gets crowded, it's a good place to kill a couple hours during a hot summer day when you're changing up your wardrobe. read more

I frequent this mall often for several reasons. This is probably the location of the closest Chipotle to where I live (our family LOVES Chipotle). It's a really pretty mall, with cute 'street storefronts' and cool (if not mildly creepy) bronze children statues throughout the mall (the one on the top of the escalator by the food court always freaks me out) and at the fountains outside. The mall does have an upscale feel, especially considering all their more specialized or higher end stores. Shops I frequent: Sephora, Crate & Barrel, Stride Rite, Rack Room Shoes, Belk. I have a 14-month old daughter, and when it's cold, darker, or ugly outside, I'll take her to the kids area by Belk/JC Penny to play and run around. Great way for her to get out her energy. Cons about this mall... where should I begin? First off, the PARKING LOT LAYOUT and entrances from the main roads. WHO designed this?! It's horrendous to force drivers in one direction vs having a right/left turn intersection. The main exit out onto Fayetteville? WHY does the right side have a stop sign, left side does not, and considering all the Freeway ramps are after a left turn, not assume that people on that right side would be stuck waiting an eternity to try and get in a left-turn lane? That might be a personal pet peeve of mine, but surely I'm not alone. The mall gets insanely busy on the weekends. I don't know why I keep forgetting this and show up anyway. I also agree with Emily's review, that it's a bit annoying that Starbucks is within Barnes and Noble and not freestanding within the mall. I freely admit to being a Starbucks fan, so there you go. Great overall variety, with literally something for everyone. Someone in civil engineering (or more specifically, the parking lot designer and the guy that approved the layout) needs to get the sense knocked back into them. read more

I love the variety of shops here. High-end to low-end, there seems to be something for everyone. The storefronts are likened to actual "street" shops, which I think was a great branding idea. I'm conflicted about this mall. I went twice with co-workers while on a business trip in the area. It is a very nice, clean, large mall, with plenty of stores. I didn't find a thing to look at that I was interested in, nor did I purchase anything. I guess I'm not a good candidate to write about the mall. I generally don't go to eat, or hang out, or shop for clothes, and I'm not so sure what else there is to do at a mall. I even found myself bored at the MoA- the 'country's largest mall' in Minnesota. On our 2nd trip, the people from work wanted to go out and eat (I tried to talk them out of going to the mall for dinner but it was 5 against 1) so we tried the outdoor area and stopped at Chammps and ate dinner at Maggiano's. Chammps was a sportsbar and seemed OK; we only got drinks there. They have some outdoor seating which is nice. Maggiano's was expensive, buttery/garlicy food that seems like a very upscale Olive Garden (I am not sure if i am trying to compliment or insult them). read more

Excellent mall! Has tons of stores and contains all the ones you see in your usual malls, plus some boutiques. What I like most though is that it is one of the few places in NC that has Urban Outfitters. I also like that it has Teavana as well, where I like to drop in to sample teas and take advantage of their ridiculous after holidays sales. It would be great if Southpoint could add an H&M too...that's the only store I can see missing from this otherwise comprehensive collection of stores. There is also a nice outdoors component integrated around the mall that makes for good accessibility for the outdoors stores. The outdoor component + amount/variety of stores probably makes it my favorite mall to shop at in RTP. read more

This can be a fun mall to walk around in, though parking can be an absolute nightmare. There are a wide range of shops and restaurants, most of them your average big chain tourist traps. Zinburger. is the standout for a halfway interesting concept - it's a modern burger and wine bar with a few locations in other states, and they have decent culinary sensibilities. Don't venture here on the weekend or you risk wandering around the parking lot for twenty minutes trying desperately to find a space while wondering if it's a) worth it to pay for their valet parking or b) go somewhere else to shop. The outdoor area is full of character and lights and all things cute! With a Barnes and nobles, Rocky Mountain chocolate factory, the expected mall restaurants (e.g. Cheesecake Factory), and a movie theater, it's perfect for a date spot (a lot of prom dinners back in high school haha). The mall itself has most of the stores I like to drop by too - j.crew, Francesca's, 21, Sephora, Starbucks, etc. and it's not overwhelming. read more

I use to enjoy seeing the statues of children especially at the fountain. I like the outdoor part of the mall but its most enjoyable on a pretty day that's not cold or too hot. The Cheesecake Factory is small compared to most but you got the cheesecakes there! That's all that matters. The Italian restaurant (Maggiano's) nearby wasn't good. There are security guards everywhere and it makes for a very uncomfy environment and half of them are wearing masks improperly. Plus, if you are in your late teens or early 20s, the guards will approach you repeatedly to inform you of their policy forbidding people under 17 from being in the mall without a guardian. They will make you wear a bright yellow wristband if you are young but over 17 which is very demeaning. I removed mine and simply kept it in my pocket because it was uncomfortable and unsightly when trying on clothes, and a guard told me that I was required to wear it instead. When informing you of the policy and putting the band on your wrist, the security guards blatantly disregard social distancing (and quite frankly personal space) which is not appropriate during covid if you ask me. read more

I'm a big fan of the Streets at Southpoint! I usually stick to the outside shops, because they generally have what I am looking for, but I head inside from time to time. As others have mentioned if you want to head into a Nordstrom this is the place to be! I am in the process of decorating my home so I love all the home shops they have here from West Elm, Restoration Hardware, Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, you name it and they probably have it! Parking can be right, but never so much that you can't find a reasonable spot even as we get closer to the holidays. Some of my other favorite stores include the Paper Source and Lush. I will this was in Raleigh, but it is such an easy drive from Raleigh since it is pretty much right off of the highway. I also like all the tasty food options, Vin Burger is my jam. read more
