This place was a little bit further down the terminal so it wasn't as busy which was good. Plenty of seating though. Tables and seating at the bar as well. The restaurant had a decent sized footprint. I had an earlier flight so it wasn't too busy. They did serve breakfast all day which is always good for me. The big Belgian breakfast was good. Pick the way you want your eggs and it came with bacon, sausage and a waffle. Pretty filling. Service was great. Food came out fast as well.

Service is a little slow at times, but other than that, this is a great little hangout spot in YEG. Good breakfasts, superb beer selection - we try to show up a little early for flights so we can stop in here. I wish more places had Gulden Draak! Hard to find in pubs & liquor stores alike. A home between homes!

Stop here and read the menu. If the idea of a Belgian beer bar didn't draw you in close enough, it surely will. Traditional Belgian Frites got my mouth watering, but that was before I saw the Moules Frites and Steak Frites. Ultimately a lot of the menu isn't exactly takeout friendly, but I noticed the French Dip on a pretzel bun and had to have it! The beef was juicy, the pretzel bun had a chewy exterior and soft center, and the fries were crispy, salty, and delicious! The cheese was melted to perfection but it wasn't as sharp as I'd hoped and faded to the background instead of adding to the overall sandwich. The au jus was rich in mouthfeel but pretty bland on the palate. All in all, it just felt like it was lacking basic seasoning, otherwise, it would have been a delicious sandwich. I ended up putting ketchup on it. Mustard would have been a better call, but I didn't have any. For the price though ($12 CAD), it was a solid portion, a good value, and far better than most airport food I've encountered. I will add that the selection of Belgian taps (Delirium Tremens for example) will make any beer fan smile, and they also offer a full bar too. Worth a stop if you're hungry and nearby.

Charcuterie with blue cheese, goat cheese and so much more. One of the bests I've ever had.

This has become a tradition when I travel to come to this place and have a pint and their charcuterie board. Service here is amazing, the ambiance is great. And what's not to love amazing drinks and food and then you leave to warmer climates. This spot is located near gate 62. Which this one happens to be the gate we are leaving from.

Spot the cheese in this Herb & Aged Cheddar Omelette

It was morning early the cafe was relatively full. I was greeted by friendly staff and I ordered the "Herb and Aged Cheddar omelet. 3 egg omelet, home fries, toast. It's a $16 plate and did not qualify to be a cheese anything. My disappointment and wanting to send it back was put off as I was to board the plane in a short time and after security I wasn't about to have that complaint dealt with. But it says Herb and Aged Cheddar not Herb and 11 micro grates of cheese. Next time, I will make sure to hit McDonald's or Tim Hortons for breakfast. Less $$ and more cheese.

Edmonton International upgraded their eating options. Newer part of the airport passed the pedestrian in the left by a huge leafy green wall. Spurts of busy. Full menu breakfast all day - waffles are obviously a must. Had the Wanderlust poached egg salad - fresh and husband had chicken and waffles. Serving sizes huge and tasty. French press coffee fresh. Service was good and waitress was pleasant. Full bar with restaurant seating. Tv screens in certain locations. If u have time at the airport preflight woe between... definitely a place I recommend and will go again.

Breakfast of champions.

Very good breakfast here and they serve beer in the morning so if you can afford the cost of overpriced airport food and drink give this place a try. You could do worse and you could do better but let's face it, airport anything is hit or miss.

For the airport...this is pretty pleasant. First of all, nice atmosphere....for an airport really great place to start or end the trip. Nice woodwork right besides the plant living wall at the airport gives a sense of tranquility. And really decent menu....amazing beer selection. We decided on the Brussel Mussels which are mussels cooked in Leffe blonde, ground chorizo sausage, tomato, sambal sauce. They came with a generous portion of fries. Were the mussels super amazing....no not really. But they were decent and the liquid they were cooked in was very tasty. I think that people that are giving bad reviews are perhaps having too high of expectations. It is at the airport. Generally, at the airport food is overpriced and not high quality. Would I frequent here if this was a stand alone restaurant? Probably not often. But to relax with a beer and to have a bite to eat before you pay for an overpriced sandwich on the airplane. Sure. Service was prompt and friendly too makes for a pleasant flight.

Really cool beer place! I love how this place has the glass for each beer! I felt like I was traveling in Europe:) I didn't understand the low rating since the food was bad either. Keep it up, EIA!

They changed thier menu to fall coziness so we tried a few different things. We had the Chou Farcie which is France's version of a cabbage roll- Savoy cabbage stuffed w/ braised pork & beef, sautéed vegetables & served with tomato sauce. We also had the Coq au Vin -two braised drumsticks, red wine, smoked bacon, shallots, and mushrooms. We had the savoury cake sale and the flavour was vegetable. Finally to round off the meal we had pommes duchesse w/horseradish, chive aïoli, and truffle oil. We also tried some seasonal cocktails. Service was friendly and professional. Food came out in timely manner. The ambiance was cozy and a great place to chat. Food was amazing as usual. Favourite was the devilled eggs but I really appreciated the chou farcie. The flavour was delicous and my hubby appreciated that it was mostly meat. You really can't go wrong here! Just order whatever you are feeling like and you won't be disappointed.

Partake is a gem on Sundays with their Sunday Sips & Snacks - $8 cocktails and snacks under $10. Such a beautiful cozy space (or enjoy their lovely patio), you'll want to linger and take your time here. Service is fabulous and so friendly, and the drinks are strong and well made. We love the food - dare I say, the best french onion soup in the city? (And just $6 on the Sunday snack menu!!) The charcuterie options change constantly, as does the flavour for the complimentary popcorn to nibble on (brown butter & dill the night we were there). From the regular menu, absolutely get the tartare. The flavours, the texture - every bite was perfect.

We started w a pierogi sampler plate. Every current flavour - some new ones, chicken curry and pulled pork. All delicious w great sauces. The bread was super tasty- multigrain w garlic butter. Who knew gluten free bread could be so good Pickle soup and French onion soups were great. Pickle soup is not that sour so definitely try if you want lighter fare. Most had chicken or pork schnitzel specials were great. My husband is half Austrian and raised on schnitzel - he loves CTs schnitzel. I had the tomato and avocado salad. Great dressing - not sweet or cloying just a great accompaniment to the rich avocado - w grilled chicken that must be marinated- it was so good. Too full for dessert again! But have their Apple strudel which is lovely. CT is a YEG institution for good reason. Try their pierogi's at Strathcona Farmers or Bountiful.

One of Edmonton's (and especially Old Strathcona's) iconic restaurants, Continental Treat has been…read moreoperating at its current location on Whyte Ave since 1982. That's 42 years! (I know the year 1982 well... It's when I was born. Ha ha.) Any restaurant with that kind of longevity is a mainstay. A reliable "forever" type of place that has stood the test of time - and believe me, it has been a test. Owned and operated by three generations of the Borówka family, their roots from Poland and Ukraine are reflected in the menu. They have even opened a second location downtown in recent years, expanding their comfort food empire twofold. So what is "continental" cuisine? By definition it's any food from Europe. And Continental Treat is prepared to feed you just like your European grandmother did. Voted Best/Favourite Continental Restaurant in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 by the Edmonton Journal, this restaurant's legacy lives on in the hearts of Edmontonians. The ambiance is palpable. Just walking by Continental Treat on any given evening, you will be delighted by a visual tableau of the most cozy and romantic restaurant that you have ever laid your eyes upon. Dim lighting, candle-lit tables, lovers holding hands and gazing into each other's eyes... That's what goes on here. I visited on a Saturday evening and was in the mood for a little bit of the CT magic. Their corner location allows for windows on both sides and the inside of the restaurant is packed with old-world charm. You'll find a lot of dark wood, perfectly set tables adorned with tablecloths, European art, and the aforementioned candle light. (We're talking wine bottles being used as candle holders with tons of wax dripping down the sides type of vibe.) It's exceedingly cozy with light jazzy piano music being played in the background. The space is certainly not modern in any sense but it feels right. Situated at a comfortable table in the middle of the dining room, I got myself acquainted with the martini list. There are some interesting options to choose from and I was curious about the Pink Squirrel (Amaretto, Creme de Cacao, cream, splash of grenadine - $14.95 for 2oz). It would be nice to see a "signature cocktail" or martini that reflects the restaurant and its cuisine a bit better (maybe it's the C-Tini, actually) but I am always happy to try something pink. I loved this pretty, pink, girly drink and enjoyed it thoroughly! Did it look a bit like Pepto-Bismol? Yes (and we made jokes about it). But it tasted delicious (not too strongly boozy) and I loved the cherry-sweet flavour! It was almost like a dessert! This martini looked cute and I would definitely order it again. Our server was personable and friendly, staying on top of our every need for the duration of our visit. I'm glad that I made a reservation because it wasn't long before every single table was occupied. We were immediately served a warm basket of two types of bread (gluten-free!) and I helped myself to a slice of rye slathered in ample amounts of melty butter. If I had to pick the most famous item on the Continental Treat menu it would have to be the Creamy Dill Pickle Soup (Helena's famous dill pickle soup - $6.50 for a cup). I have ordered it every single time that I have dined here and I'm sure that many other people do the same. This soup is a hit for a reason. If you had an Eastern European grandma (like I did) this will remind you of her soups. It's lighter than you think it will be and filled with nice big pieces of potatoes, pickles (of course!) and other vegetables. The pickle flavour is at the forefront but it isn't too much. (Let's be honest, it could never be too much for me). It's cozy comfort in soup form. In a city that boasts many amazing soups, this is certainly one of the top picks. You can even order a "Euro Bowl" which I think is a really big bowl of soup! No one would judge you - it would be the right call. There are also several other soups on the menu that sound amazing and if I could ever tear myself away from the pickle soup I would love to try the Red Barszcz or the Sauerkraut & Potato. Can we talk about the gluten-free aspect for a sec? Continental Treat wasn't always a "gluten-free restaurant." This change was brought to the menu in 2007 when the decision was made to embrace gluten-free cooking both to promote healthier eating as well as to provide wonderful European dishes to diners who have intolerances. The goal was to make food that is indistinguishable or superior to traditional gluten-containing products. And I have to say, eating that rye bread, I would never have known the difference. This makes me think of my Polish grandfather, who did indeed have celiac. He would have loved this place. I don't think of Continental Treat as a "gluten-free restaurant," I think of it as a European restaurant that happens to serve gluten-free food. You KNOW that Continental Treat is going to have Signature Gourmet Pierogies & Dumplings on their menu - it's a must a
