We had a fantastic experience with Bela and would absolutely recommend them/use them for future projects. Our project was anything but straightforward. We completed a full kitchen remodel, a complete back bathroom renovation, a middle bath makeover, added a new exterior front door, installed a new interior bathroom door, and somehow fit a full-size laundry into an incredibly tight space...all in an older Venice building with plenty of surprises. Jennifer and Limor of Bela Development have been a life saver for me. I bought my condo in 2018, and it was in desperate need of fixing. I contacted Jennifer and Limor last year, 2022, to first consult with me about a total renovation. They were immediate in their response and more thorough than I could've hoped for. This is also my first property that I've owned, so I needed a lot of guidance. They came to my home in a matter of a few days to review what I wanted done. We were able to solidify the design and materials I wanted in the span of a week, and we quickly got started with demo and construction. I contacted Bela Development after a disappointing experience with a previous contractor hired to re-model a powder room and entry hallway from a water intrusion. The moment I contacted them, I was treated professionally and respectfully. Ben, Shay and Julie assisted me with every aspect of the project from billing and communicating with HOA management company to assisting me with choosing a bathroom vanity. Shay, the project manager, was always available to talk and assist me throughout the job. The daily workers installing the wood flooring and re-modeling the powder room did an excellent job with wonderful attention to detail while maintaining the highest standard of workmanship. We remodelled our kitchen, primary bathroom, upgraded electrical, replaced old windows, replaced roof, etc, etc, etc. The kitchen remodel included structural changes such as adding a vaulted ceiling, removing a wall and pushing into our garage. Our house was built in the 60s and they discovered multiple issues in the subfloor...but they handled it! Bela Dev team handled everything from plans to permits. They were on schedule and offered budget friendly options where it made sense (do you really need designer windows?) My husband and I often had to take on different moments of the project due to work demands. As a woman I often get the old patronising tone from contractors, but Ben was so kind and patient. From the very beginning Ben was great in constantly staying in touch and keeping me updated being that i'm in NY so it was a bit difficult for me to know everything that was going on. We are very happy with the outcome of our project. Bela Development painted the exterior of our house and some interior walls in the living room, painted a large retaining wall around the entire perimeter, built a wood pergola in the backyard, put a roof on the existing wood pergola, built a fence on the front and side of the house, removed the old trees and planted new ones and installed a new irrigation system and landscape lights. We met Ben and Bela Development in the beginning of our adventure with no clue of how we are going to manage this project, after interviewing 3 companies seemed like bela had it all for our needs, architect in house designer in house permitting in house all the way to the beautiful build, we knew this is going to be 10-12 months project which was more than what other companies promised but Ben insisted that with the level of finishes that should be a bit longer, we feel very lucky to find such a young honest builder which will really tell you the truth also when things aren't going as planned.
