I was here for the Schitts Creek Brunch and it was so much fun. The service was great and the food outstanding. We ordered some appetizers and split, we did the bang bang shrimp, ricotta toast, eggplant meatballs and the cacio e Pepe risotto. This review is tailored only to the themed dinner experience as I'm sure a normal dining experience would be normal. We attended a wizard themed dinner experience that had 5 courses with drink pairings. Upon seeing a video on tiktok, we thought it seemed like a fun activity! When we called for a reservation, we were informed there was no availability inside for seating for the themed dinner but that outside would also have decor and/or TV/speaker that was relevant to the theme dinner. We arrive and are seated, and we are just sitting outside like we are going to eat a normal dinner. Nothing about it felt like a themed dinner like we'd been assured on the phone. Not to mention the weather is miserable and they are storing lukewarm tap water outside for water refills. Each course of the meal was pretty decent. Nothing was awful but nothing was spectacular. Most of the drinks were good except for an actual Jack and Coke that did not feel on theme at all and was undrinkable unless you're 21 and in college. For a meal, sure this was decent food and drink and well worth the $65 price per head. For a themed dinner, absolutely not. Nothing here felt like an experience because we sat outside and the speakers played Tiktok music over just sticking to the theme and trying to make the outside diners feel included in the experience. If we'd known that there wasnt decor (or rather, the person on the phone had been truthful) we wouldn't have booked the dinner unless we were seated inside (which was beautiful!) Seems like they just wanna get people in their restaurant and spend the money rather than have them enjoy the experience ‍ PS. My dessert cake course was cold right out of the fridge. read more

I've tried to give this place more than one chance, but every time I go back it's worse than I remembered. Server was rude, not accommodating. Though the food was satisfactory, the service was more than disappointing. Despite clear instructions, our server delivered the wrong cocktails. When one of the four of us respectfully mentioned that the cocktail delivered was the wrong order, the server said nothing and removed the cocktail from the table. Though the food was delicious, we then wrapped up our entrees, the server dropped off the check without discussing desserts (though we were interested in food and dessert cocktails). Just ordered delivery through DoorDash and am actually in the middle of eating, but felt inclined to write a review while doing so. Decided to order from here because of all the great reviews, but $150 later and most of the food untouched, I'm looking at Yelp right now like a lying ex-boyfriend. Tuna tartare, pork bao buns, bonchon wings, beginnings burger, kid's burger, fries and dipsum donuts. We also got the adult capri sun drink and the under the volcano drink. One star because the drinks are strong - thank you, I needed a quarantine buzz. Second star is for the on-time delivery, fluffy donuts, and thoughtful packaging. My tuna tartare was very fresh, but surprisingly bland even though it looked to have some sort of dressing on it. Happy that I had lime in the fridge to spruce it up and some tostada chips to add some crunch. The pork buns had minimal pork, barely any sauce and was very dry (see photo attached). Took one bite and left the rest. The burgers were EXTREMELY dry - both my husband and son complained, and those guys eat anything. The bonchon wings....maaaaaan, I wish I had it in me to drive to the restaurant and return them. I couldn't believe how salty they were. Like, inedibly salty. It came with 9 pieces - there's 8 3/4 left. The fries were more of the same - like they first rinsed them with salt water, fried them in salted oil, and then tossed them into a salted bag for good measure. I admit that I can sometimes be a bit of a food snob, but these quarantine days have knocked my standards down to ground level quite a bit - which is why this meal had me frustrated beyond measure. read more

Went for NYE dinner. The place was decorated nicely but we only saw our waitress once. Understand it was busy and normally would just chalk it up to that if 2/4 of our dishes weren't terrible. Let me start with the fact that the food was very good Unfortunately, their customer service is beyond pitiful, specifically the manager. This was my first time here. I ordered a $36 pork chop, which came with mashed sweet potatoes and cooked red cabbage. The pork chop was very good, but not worth $36. It was half the thickness of my wife's pork chop. I didn't care for the red cabbage, so I asked the waitress if I could exchange it. She said she would have to ask the manager. The manager came over and said that it could have been changed before the meal was made. However, since the meal was made, she would have to charge me for the new side. How ridiculous is that! My meal costs over $100 and she couldn't replace about $1 worth of cabbage without charging me for a side that would have been free if i ordered it initially. That is what quality restaurants do. They treat the customer properly. When you spend over $100, your expectation is to receive proper customer service. There is great competition for dining dollars and customer service is a key differentiator The manager clearly is in the wrong job and I hope the owner takes this review seriously and reprimands her A man, not sure what his role is, came over later and asked if we wanted another side. Came here for friends trivia and had a blast! The decor is super cute too but this is place is really far for me so unfortunately it can't be my go to place. My friends and I split a bunch of apps-the whipped ricotta, Brussels sprouts, Mac and cheese, eggplant meatballs, boom boom shrimp and a couple orders of the truffle fries and everything was pretty great! The addition of the apples in the Brussels sprouts was probably my favorite part! The shrimp was a highlight as well, it had a punch of spice but not overwhelming. We also got the warm donut holes for dessert and it came with 3 dipping sauces. Had brunch here this morning. The Brisket Hash was all fatty meat laid over wet onions and whole chunks of soft potatoes. The menu says diced but it's not. I understand that it's their version but hash is hash, not layers of food and the meat should not be 75% fat. Yuck! When I exited I gave the valet my ticket. He asked what type of car I had and when I told him he replied "you came with another car". Then The valet handed me my keys, pointed at my car which was parked on the street wedged between two other cars and said there it is. I asked how am I supposed to pull my car out when it's bumper to bumper and his response was "why are you giving me attitude?" This was my second time going to Beginnings and I must say this is truly a GEM of a restaurant. It's literacy theme books perfectly decor the restaurant. It has such an amazing ambiance. The service has always been amazing and the food just simply delicious!! I enjoyed everything we ordered. We went during Trivia Night and boy did we have the best time ever!! The have specialty cocktails that match the theme of the Trivia. I tried them all and I would recommend all of the cocktails. I can't wait to go back! We hosted a bridal shower at Beginnings and I can't say enough about how perfect it was. From the time we arrived the staff was as helpful as could be. The waitstaff helped to unload our cars & hang our decorations while serving us drinks! The food was amazing and special dietary restrictions were accommodated. I am still getting compliments & being told it was the best event attended in recent times. The leftovers were packed and labeled. I highly recommend Beginnings for an event. The dinner theme for the night was "American Psycho." For $75, you get a five course meal with paired cocktails. Some staff were in themed outfits & the music matched the theme as well. There is a TON of outdoor seating-- I was impressed with the amount of outdoor tables & accompanying heaters. The food was exquisite, nicely plated & delicious! The absolute worst dining experience I ever had. This restaurant has a policy of charging an additional 3.5% on your bill if you use a credit card. The wait time to be served was extraordinarily long and the waitress was inappropriate in her behavior and the busboy spilled soup on one of the diners. No apologies were extended. The food was fair but way overpriced. A similar meacould be obtained for half the price. My advice is to save your money and go elsewhere! read more

Ended up ordering the cast iron skillet ribeye. Meat was a little gristly but it was decently cooked. I have dined at Beginnings pre and post COVID. My husband and I have had dinner and brunch several times and each time did not disappoint in taste, portions, and service. Just had my husband's 40th here last night and everything was perfect. Ben was the manager who helped me coordinate the reservation and seating for our larger party and he was there to answer all my questions and my concerns. The night of we were in the capable hands of Michelle who tended to our needs and was patient with the "chaos" of our larger group. Food was really good. It was a celebration for my daughters birthday and beginnings didn't disappoint. We got more food than we could possibly consume because so many dishes sounded appealing. And everything we tried was yummy. Favorites included eggplant meatballs, burrata but I think our favorite appetizer was the lobster risotto...truly inspired. Be aware however if you are eating inside, it is really loud. We were there on a Friday night in the summer. Don't expect to be able to hear anyone at your table. This review is not based on the food, it's absolutely delicious. This is based on an embarrassing situation, not on our part but on the part of the establishment. To make this short, we were six adults and we spent over $600 (cocktails, apps, entrées, coffee, dessert). Now I don't want to hear violins playing regarding Covid,restaurant difficulties and costs, because times are just as difficult for your customers. We called the number for the restaurant & were told they were closed, the staff member who answered was not at the restaurant & that our food was likely thrown out. I have a few questions following this experience including why is your staff rushing people out, why does your contact number link to someone not in the restaurant, why is there no solution based responses to an issue & why is there no concern about retaining a customer? After paying $150 + 20% tip for 2 people you would hope to be treated better. My sister had her engagement party here on January 6, 2020. Honestly I can't think of any way the party could have been more perfect. I'll start with the service. The staff was remarkable. From the bartender to the waitresses and waiters to the guy who parked our car. Everyone was so pleasant and worked so hard so we could enjoy celebrating my sister. I just want to say thank you to all of you. I know how hard you all worked but you made it seamless! The food was excellent! They passed around hors d'oeuvres, put out some delicious Greek appetizers and main entrée that we sat down to eat was so delicious. You would think that the quality would maybe be compromised a bit because of the amount of people but it wasn't. The food was excellent. The drinks... All the cocktails are handcrafted and absolutely delicious. Example if you get a margarita don't expect any of that crappy sour mix! Fresh lime juice and they had Mezcal which is one of my favorite alcohols. Delicious drinks. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's beautiful and homey and cozy.
