The Marte construction plumber team did an amazing job working in an 83-year old building converted 35 years ago, to reconfigure an ancient gas line, replace the shut-off valve, and then to repair the torn-out wall section. The repaired wall section looked better than the original! From my experience with this company, their staff would do a great job on a much more extensive remodeling effort. He and his team tackled this enormous job with the expertise and precision needed to complete an amazing quality of work. If I have time, I'll add a few pics of our first project. The second renovation project fall of 2025, included an entire roof replacement and installing two attic fans, repairing/replacing vents within our downstairs bathroom waterline and renovating our downstairs bathroom were among the areas that were addressed as well as other smaller projects. Similar to our first project renovation, he and his team maintained excellent communication throughout the project. Consistently performed high quality workmanship and their cleanliness as they worked is paramount as they work through each project. Highly recommend Jeremy and his team!

Without wasting any time, the team member LJ quickly went to work and displayed his experience and knowledge in the field. When I asked questions out of curiosity about certain steps in the process of the repair, LJ explained the step by step and made it sound like an easy repair procedure. After completing the repair and delivering impressive results, LJ proceeded to give advice on preventing this mishap from occurring again as well as pointing out other errors in the property and explaining how it can easily be repaired. All in all, the Frazier Painting & General Contracting team has been a joy to work with, taking no shortcuts in their work to display excellent results with honest work ethics, and delivering outstanding communication to their clients

I am posting this review many years later because they got Yelp to remove the review because they changed their company name. Here is my original review: "If dealing with unresponsive, unprofessional people is your cup of tea, then go with this company. If you enjoy having your beautiful hardwood floors torn up and replaced with cheaper wood (as I had to have happen after a leak from an above unit), sloppily laid down without attention to detail, without leveling the floors, without caring about gaps, without worrying about heavy furniture scratching the new cheap floors, then go with this company. If I could give them zero stars I would. This is a horrible company. Please, please do not hire them ever to do any job.

Greg Marks, one of the owners, walked us through what was and wasn't possible with the City of Alexandria's zoning requirements, and explained every step clearly -- a real relief for our first big construction project. His brother Drew Marks, our project manager, visited the site daily, kept everything on schedule, and always kept us in the loop. He responded quickly to every question, and his patience was remarkable. The crew was respectful and left the worksite tidy every day. Now that it's finished, we couldn't be happier. The ADU is beautiful and incredibly functional, and details like the custom cabinetry and thoughtful layout show the care they put into their work. If you're looking for a team that truly cares about their clients and delivers quality, Greg and his crew are the way to go.

In our experience, Marks-Woods Construction LLC are dangerous and dishonest contractors…read more I won't bury the lede: Marks-Woods lit our house on fire and abandoned it to burn, cut a live 240 volt wire and left it exposed in our yard where children play, mis-wired an outlet so that it threw sparks and molten copper onto our attic insulation, and allowed a gas leak to persist in our occupied house for at least a month. They exceeded their three-month contracted timeline by five months and left the project incomplete. If those facts are not enough to convince you of their unsuitability to earn your business, please continue reading. The red flags came early and often: Marks-Woods demanded a HUGE down payment to begin work, which began later than promised and faced delays from the outset. As other reviewers have noted, workers would show up infrequently (initially less than 60% of the time) and do very little work (for example, we caught them napping in our garage, watching videos, and playing with paper airplanes). Marks-Woods' work failed and continues to fail Fairfax County inspections (our deck for example, was built at great expense and not even remotely to code) and of hit-or-miss quality (we could not confirm some of their subcontractors' licenses either). They wasted time and resources via sloppy workmanship (e.g., leaky roof, broken tiles, unlevel floors), failing to follow building plans correctly, and misordering supplies etc. etc. Marks-Woods' communication was erratic and inaccurate regarding scheduling, work to be done, work completed, and invoicing. You can verify in other reviews (note the lack of historical ones on Google: Marks-Woods' business profile suspiciously disappeared for a while) and public court records that they allegedly pull financial shenanigans such as failing to pay their creditors and subcontractors. For our project, they unilaterally (and likely illegally) demanded changes in our payment terms in violation of the contract and created false invoices requesting payment multiple times for the same line items while sprinkling payments among various unrelated line items to help their "cash flow". I could continue our litany of documented complaints ad nauseum and appreciate your reading this far. My only goal is to spare other homeowners from the financial and emotional trauma our family suffered at the hands of Marks-Woods; avoid them: they do not deserve your or anyone else's business.

Man was I wrong. After I was happy with my job, the next day all the original tape started to peel off. I would have to redo the whole garage and I didn't have the time to do it. I was referred to Mike and he came by and explained that since the tape was put on 9 years ago it was peeling off with the new mud. His crew fixed the garage in two days. I also had a detached garage 30x40 that needed drywall. He completed that as well. After the job was complete I noticed a small crack that had developed. Mike came by and fixed it. He said that it could have been cracked while the attic was being insulated. Not only did he fix it he found several others that I could not see. He fixed everything. I referred him to one of my neighbors and the next day he brought me some fresh fish from his fishing business. Mike is a standup guy who did a great job with follow up after he was paid. So I need to be fair and honest with this so others don't get left with a job half done like I did. The quality of work and care was not there. The first day 3 guys showed and one room was presented as done (the primary). By the end of the week on a job that was quoted as around 3 days, not one entire room was completed, but instead two others started and left. Plastic was laid down on the floors and over our belongings that had been cleared to the center of the rooms. The job was to paint the upstairs hallway and 3 bedrooms with Farrow and Ball paints (which I supplied along with rollers and new buckets). Prior to them showing up, Cullin had called The Paint Shop in Warrenton inquiring about Farrow and Ball paint as they had not used it before. He told me how much to purchase. I bought $2500 worth of paint & primer. The first day he showed up he asked for half payment and a signed contract, which was not discussed prior to his arrival, and this was while the other to guys were prepping the upstairs for the job. There was a lack of communication about this job start to finish or unfinish. It turned out that the very next week Cullin and the two other guys showed up and worked at break neck speed to get out of this project. Upon inspection while everything was still very wet and them "cleaning" I found many items they needed to redo. For the back room they had very little natural light and no proper equipment to effectively see to do a good job in this room. It was admitted by Cullin later that this paint was quite different than Sherwin Williams paint, and now know they should have never accepted this job. I am also concerned with the reviews because Cullin has no idea how to calculate paint and how much for a job! I am left with nearly all the paint! The Paint Shop said it was not their place to tell a "professional" painter how much paint to use for a job. Cullen and his crew did not in fact put two coats down in each room, because if they had, more than a half gallon would be gone and they would have needed the three of them to show up that Tuesday instead of prematurely pulling out of the job on Monday. During this job there was staffing issues where only one guy would show in the late morning leaving at 3 or 4. Additionally these paint cans were brutalized as ladders and so I cannot even resale them. My paint key I provided for all these cans also walked. The closet doors were not completed as the hardware never arrived until after they left the job on Monday. Once we started to put the rooms back, we noticed several areas not even painted and certainly evident that no two coats were used since you can still see the cut-ins. There are a slew of minor other untouched imperfections that real professional painters would not have left. So this is the honest review that should have been posted long before mine. This was not a great value for the $4600 paid not including my $2500 in paint. Also, a proper second coat cannot be obtained that quickly on Monday (read Farrow and Balls directions). You know what they were good at? Caulking and talking on their cellphones.
