I got the $10 ramen, which is a promo until September 28, 2025. It's a mazemen, no broth but they give a cup of soup on the side. I love the flavor of the noodle. Since I like the strongler flavor, the smokey shio mazemen taste great. I would also recommend getting the creamy mazemen if you're fine with carbonara because it does remind me of that. read more

The restaurant was full the entire time (as there was a line up outside the entire time during lunch time) but it wasn't loud inside or cramped. We dropped by for their Sept 15-28th Promo, $10 Noodles They offer a good variety of Ramen and Mazemen (dry noodles). You get 1oz of roast beef and 150g noodles We waited for 15 minutes for a table (they don't offer high chair or booster). They do have plastic cutlery and bowls for children to use We got the Shoyu Ramen and Creamy Mazemen The Ramen came with a rich Shoyu broth, but some noodles were clumped together and smelled heavy on the sodium bicarbonate. The Creamy Mazemen was rich and cheesy. The beef broth on the side was rich and beefy. We had this several times before. The 1oz beef slices was very minimal so you can't opt for more meat. I am a bronze member (free membership) so I can upgrade to extra 50g extra noodles and soft serve but you must tell them when you order so they get your phone number. I've been wanting to come here for years and finally went for their $10 ramen/mazemen special! We were looking forward to trying their ramen but when we got there, they ran out of ramen broth so we had to get the mazemen instead. We tried the smokey miso and creamy mazemens. Finally tried this much hyped place... Their claim to fame is their marinated beef! So i inquired...marinated with what? Was told...salt and pepper! Well, that made sense cause there was literally nothing special about the beef. Its soft and tender as expected, but no japanese umaminess. I tried the shio beef ramen...yes the noodles were cooked perfectly but the broth came a bit under temp. Weak flavours. It wasnt pipping hot like a true ramen place. The essence of the broth too was weak. Wasn't that impressed. Dnt know what the hype is about. To me, its an average ramen place. I can think of 3 other places which are way better but cheaper. Its nothing but overpriced ramen on robson st lol. The table side garlic chips were a nice touch, but thats about it. Having sesame oil and vinegar so liven up your broth, sure, but those things kill the broth. I want to taste the essen of the ramen...and that is the broth! I will not be repeating. We came on a Thursday at 11:45am. I ordered the shio mazemen. We got the smallest portion and I felt like it was just enough. The beef I felt like could have been more tender and more flavourful. It was a bit too chewy for me. The noodles were just cooked to al dente. I liked that there were garlic chips at the table for you to add and also Chilli oil. The garlic chips could have been crisper. Felt like the whole thing was a bit dry as the beef was dry and so were the noodles. The noodles come with a side bowl of soup for you to drink Overall for the price and location I think it's an okay option but it wouldn't be my number one option for Ramen. I might try on a future visit but today's meal was really delicious so I'd be tempted to order again in future. During our one-week stay in Vancouver, we stumbled upon Beest while exploring downtown and decided to try it on a whim. I had already dined at several well-regarded spots around the city, but Beest ended up being one of the most unique and memorable experiences of the trip. The menu was extensive --I had a bit of option paralysis. Thankfully, the staff were friendly, clearly passionate about the food, and gave great recommendations that really paid off. The dry ramen was a definite standout. Served with tender, flavorful beef and a rich, garlicky beef stock on the side, it was perfectly cooked and incredibly satisfying. It's a must-try for beef and garlic lovers.The beef salad, which was fresh, well-balanced, and surprisingly filling. The deep-fried squid was another highlight--lightly crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft (not chewy) inside. It's rare to find squid this perfectly done. To top it all off, the service was excellent--warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. Beest wasn't even on my radar before I walked by, but I'm so glad I took a chance on it. It's a super beefy ramen restaurant. If people love beef and ramen, they should come and try their beef ramen here. Broth has a very strong beef flavour. Ramen is chewy. The portion of beef is decent. I would recommend adding more noodles as the standard one might not be enough for someone who eats a lot. I gave my phone number to the restaurant; so I could collect points. I got free upgrade of 200g noodles and a free icecream at the end of the meal. Loves them all!! 3.5 stars, because the price point felt on the high side even after accounting for location, ingredients and ambience. Pretty restaurant that was not busy when we arrived as we were trying to stick to our time zone at home as much as possible. This is a clean, spacious feeling restaurant with simple but lovely touches. They specialize in beef ramen, including dry ramen. We both ordered the beef ramen which came with a side of broth to be sipped and not poured over the ramen. The ramen as beautifully presented, rare, and was very delicious. It seems they took my advice and expanded their menu to include ramen with broth!--including a vegan tantanmen ($21.80). So I returned to try it. The ramen came out in barely over 5 minutes. The portion is big, coming with a generous portion of of medium-thickness noodles (for ramen), plenty of Impossible ground "beef", chopped raw onion, and 2 pieces of bok choy. I'd have hoped for more vegetables but this is pretty standard for tantanmen. The broth was reasonably done, not that rich for a tantanmen but with a good balance of flavours -- maybe a bit too much chili oil. I've been wanting to try Beest for some time and finally got to go on a weekday evening. I ended up getting the beef ramen and also signed up for their reward program and also got a free ice cream. The beef ramen was pretty delicious and I thought the broth was quite flavorful. I did think the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. Newly opened @beest_vancouver got Kokoro shaking at their knees with this competition Going to break down the deets in this caption cause I had a hard time finding info on what they offer since they don't have a website and little info on their IG Beest specializes in mazemen aka soupless ramen. They have 5 different mazemen to choose from: 1 Shoyu 2 Smokey Miso 3 Shio 4 Creamy 5 Impossible (vegetarian option) All orders of mazemen come with complimentary beef soup, 3oz of meat, 150g of noodles, priced at $17.80 (the Impossible does NOT come with the complimentary beef soup & also not sure what they use as a protein replacement because it's not stated on their menu) You can upgrade your meat quantity to 6oz (+$7.90) or 12oz (+$19.90). If you're hoping for the meat flower, you'd have to upgrade to 6oz or higher You can also upgrade your noodle quantity to 200g (+$1) or 300g (+$3) I ended up upgrading my Shoyu bowl to 6oz of meat (because I didn't think 3oz was enough protein for myself) and kept the standard 150g of noodles. I also added an egg because eggs with dry noods are a must. With those upgrades alone, my bowl ended up being a hefty $29 bill before tip . All of that being said, their flavors are . Noodles were cooked perfectly. Meat could've been a little more tender. Towards the end of my bowl, it started feeling a tad heavy so I added vinegar, which I highly recommend (same concept as Kokoro). The spiced miso was too salty for me so I added the soup (they give you a cup of soup to sip on) to it. Portion is not big, but it is good quality beef and noodles. I bring up their age because it's remarkable how professional and enthusiastic they are at such a young age, showing genuine enjoyment for their work. When evaluating a dining establishment, it is important to consider all aspects, including the quality of the food. In this case, I found that the ramen had its strengths and weaknesses. Overall, I felt that it was overly salty, which influenced my rating of 3 out of 5 stars. Regarding the specific dish I ordered - Mazemen (smokey miso beest) with Waygu meat and an added poached egg - I noticed that the texture of the Waygu meat was not as expected; it did not melt in my mouth as I anticipated. New Japanese mazemen restaurant located in downtown on bute street but very close to the busy robson street. It's a nice walking distance from burrard station. First time trying out mazemen with roasted beef and I'd have to say I'm a big fan of it now!! I got the shoyu beest, it's a decent portion with noodles and beef. If you sign up for their V.I.BEEST program you get extra noodles and free ice cream at the end of your meal! Quite worth it! The beef is quite rare and tender, it's got a chew to it for sure. I also got extra noodles as you can pick your noodle and meat portion I have 200g noodles and 3oz of meat. I liked being able to customize my noodle bowl with the side of garlic chips, chili oil and vinegar I just drizzled it all over. I forgot to mix it up near the end so it got quite saucy at the end and oily but it was really good and super filling. read more

I consistently come to eat here when I'm in town, though I hadn't been back in a few months before this recent trip. The beef ramen and sides are still quite good, though they did change a couple rules with their rewards program, scaling it back so you only qualify for perks if you get mazemen (their brothless ramen). I'm fine with this, as the ice cream and extra noodles were just nice but not necessary for me, but be advised the rewards program doesn't really apply if you get the full beef ramen. The beef ramen is a bit pricier than other ramen out there, but for good beef ramen (which you don't find much of in general) I've found it worth the extra price. Also, if you like an egg with your ramen, I would get the extra poached egg on the side, as it blends rather well with the ramen. They do have a limit on how much beef broth they make each day, so if you come in late they may run out before you arrive. I'd go earlier rather than later in the evening. Service is reasonably attentive and cordial, though servers consistently seem rather cautious and tentative these days. Still, dining there's a consistently decent experience and they do serve you pretty quickly. I still enjoy eating here and they do get a reasonably good crowd, though the limited options aside from the mazemen and the priciness of the beef ramen (as other reviews indicate) may put some people off. It's a bit off the beaten path south of Robson and tucked into the side of a complex on Bute, so you have to look a bit carefully for it if you haven't been before. read more

One of the best ramen places I've been to! The beef broth is very flavourful, it's a nice touch where you have this soupless noodle bowl with a side of beef broth. The service was super quick, we were able to order and receive our meal in under 5 minutes of being seated. They explained how the process worked as it was our first time in the restaurant. No wait time when we had dinner from 5-6pm on a weekday too but then started to fill up as we were leaving. The restaurant itself was bustling, lots of staff to serve and attend to all the guests; very friendly atmosphere. All the dishes seemed very appealing! I can't wait to try every other dish. 10 or so years ago, this retail space was Sanpachi Ramen, a nice little place unfortunately due to decline in food quality was forced to close down and made way for a second branch for Damso, a Korean joint with ayce pork belly and beef among other hearty Korean dishes. So when it close down and Beest was teased on social media pages, I had decided to make an attempt to visit the place as a throwback to my old days of post work ramen. Beest is best described as a mazesoba joint with a clear fusion twist. Taking the beef ramen style from the Tottorin region, mexican spices in their miso tare and using roast beef as the defacto cha siu so it competes with Kokoro Mazesoba. The ramen itself managed to pull off the concept quite well, as the tare is strong and retains the flavor when the broth mixes with the noodles. I tried their soy flavor twice, once as a soupless noodle and one as a soup noodle and the flavor is present in both versions. True to downtown form, it can be uplifted by upgrading to Wagyu but I am satisfied with their roast beef cha siu that I may save it for special occasions The restaurant itself it a dimly lit Steakhouse style setup with modern furniture, black marble and the ramen prep setup. Using mechanical cookers for the ramen, a good portion of the human error is eliminated as in the back we see the oven that produces the beef cha siu for thir ramen. Service itself was standard but attentive with a loyalty program as well. It is still new, but I recommend the joint to those who love ramen read more
