Let me preface this by saying I have been in construction for 20 years so when you read this review please know I know what I am talking about. My niece hired them to remove the acoustic ceiling (pop corn) and retexture with a skip trowel finish. This is absolutely the worst skip trowel that I have ever seen and they would not sand it in preparation for painting. It is not the painting contractors job to sand the dry walkers work. Left a lot of ridges and gouges. Left rounded corners unclean. The prep work to clean up this mess to make it paintable is immense. They charged a premium price and delivered low quality work. Do yourself a favor and don't use this company, hire a contractor who knows what they are doing. read more

Unprofessional! Apparently Beehive Ceilings doesn't want my business and I won't be recommending them to anyone else. I scheduled an appointment for a Beehive representative to come to my house and provide me a quote. Then, 10 minutes after they were to arrive I get a call from their office staff saying there was a scheduling conflict and I'll need to reschedule my appointment to the following week. I took time out of my work day to be available at my initially scheduled appointment. It's common courtesy to give your "potential" customers notice as you would expect in return. read more

Not good . I called for a quote for popcorn ceiling removal and I was told I must pay $ 65 for an asbestos test first . Then based on that they would give me a quote ! What ! one can't get a quote without paying them $ 65 first !!! Very poor business model ! read more

Say goodbye to cottage cheese! Beehive ceilings removes those gross cottage cheese ceilings, in case you were wondering what they actually do. I have used these guys twice in the past year. I have owned 2 condos that were both built in the early 80's here in the Phoenix metro area. I guess in the 80's the condo developers is Phoenix said let's save $100 and spray this ugly, disgusting crap on ceilings that collects dust. Of course you can't clean it either, because if you try to, it crumbles all over the place. I have allergies, and they were really bad in my last condo, so after getting rid of most of the carpet, I decided to exorcise the the cottage cheese demon from my ceilings. Beehive Ceilings are really professional. First they send out a guy who does this estimate for the job. In this case, business was slow and they actually discount the job further if you are flexible about scheduling. Since my job basically filled in an empty spot they had in their schedule I got a little bit better price. I had a large living room area and 2 bedrooms to do. They showed up on time 7:15 AM and got right down to business. I got out of there, and they called me at 1:00 PM that same day to let me know that they were just finishing up! The ceilings were scraped, sanded, & re-textured beautifully! I did not have them paint, because I thought they were a little high for the actual painting but they did a beautiful job on the ceilings. Then I sold my beautifully re-done condo this Spring, and bought my current fixer upper. Again I did the estimate (fair price) and scheduled the job. This time the crew showed up over an hour late, and were super rude to me when they got there. They made rude comments about their company's estimator and the crew that did my job at my previous condo. Well since I had such a good experience with Beehive the first time, I called the office while these guys were setting up and told them about the unprofessional behavior. The lady totally apologized and she seemed genuinely shocked. I told her I was not comfortable leaving them in my house. I told her I was sending them home, and she said no problem and that she would get another crew out the next morning. The next morning a very professional crew came out, got down to business, and did a fantastic job again. The manager also called to hear my story, and apologized as well. So the nut jobs who I booted lose them one star, but over all I've had great results with this company. So I can definitely say if you want to quickly and cleanly get rid of your nasty ceilings they do a great job. read more

Do your research!!! I was promised the world and did not receive it. Charged extra for every little thing, paid about $4,000 for 3 bedrooms, living room and to retexture my kitchen ceiling. My sons ceiling fan is falling out of the ceiling after they put it back up, I was charged for a crack under the popcorn in the living room and the crack is so obvious my painter wants to retexture the entire area as it's the only way to remove the crack. Promised a dimmer for a light change, had fans installed all out of balance and some very odd patterns in the ceiling, it its obvious no one really inspected the work. I emailed the company about all of this as well as a fan light cover was broken in one bedroom forcing me to replace all 4 light covers as the original is no longer available. No one told me I would need to paint when they finished as their tape ripped large areas of paint off in my living room which I find embarrassing!!!!! The owner is there for your quote and to take your payment but no where when they are done to make sure you are happy. Payment received goodbye customer, sad!!!! read more

I had six rooms with popcorn ceilings, one of which had a two-story ceiling. They got all of the ceilings scraped and retextured in one day and then sanded, caulked and painted in a second day. They covered the walls and floors with plastic and cleaned up all the plastic and swept before they left each day. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. read more

I was very pleased with the ceiling retexturing done by Beehive. I had a great room with 10 foot ceilings, plus four bedrooms, living room, and closets done by Beehive. They were professional to deal with. The work crew was polite and clean. After the retexturing, they also painted the ceiling (including the beams) and hung new ceiling fans for me and moved a light fixture. Additionally, they did some drywall repair from old water damage along my fireplace ceiling area, as well as did some drywall repair to several large "house settling" cracks. The whole process took three days. One day to repair and coat, one day to cure, one day to paint and hang fans. Very satisfied. read more

I then called them a couple of days ago and spoke with Kent about coming back out to do our last room and he said that wasn't a problem!! Was quoted a reasonable (not the lowest by any means) price and decided to move forward with Beehive because they were recommended by a handyman I had used in the past. Work was done on time and as promised, and the crew cleaned up well after themselves. The walls in our house are painted white, so unfortunately the ceiling paint that was put on by the crew was suppose to be a flat white ceiling paint, but ended up looking more cream than anything. Additionally, the textured ceiling ripped off whenever we tried to tape it to repaint our walls, even after using 3m "delicate surfaces" tape. We have now had to hire a painter to come back and re-paint and caulk the ceiling in all three rooms that were worked on, which when added to Beehives original cost, made this a rather expensive project that I would probably recommend going in a different direction for if we had to do it all over again. read more

I used them and never again. Too big of hurry to get to the next job. Read there complete contract before you use them. They put the ceiling fans back up and there all out of balance. Broke part of one and instead of fixing it they told me to get some super glue and crawl up there and fix it. I have bad arthritis that why I hire this stuff done. I'm not wasting anymore of my time listing the stuff...I have nothing positive to say about the owner or his company. read more

Great job. Everything was done exactly as stated, maybe even a bit better. Everything was cleaned each day, we had no mess. They installed 4 ceiling fans and wired them perfectly. They even repaired a ceiling hole which had been left by the A/C repair company. Would highly recommend Beehive. read more
