Everyone minds there own business. You dont feel judged. When I say they have about almost everything you need im not joking. Their gym equipment is very modern to help build your gains. Additionally they have a physical therapist and about 30 trainers in total perhaps about 6 daily. They have a refrigerator to store your lunches in, a water cooler, private lockers and showers, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash etc. The only downside is you may feel crowded when you workout bc of all the variety of gym equipment but this gym is meant to keep a threshold and did i mention this gym is 24/7??? Take advantage if you're early bird. I struggled a bit with their equipment ngl, bc im still a newb to weight lifting and im not familiar with seeing equipments having an on/off switch to load/unload weights however, i thought it was cool. I really enjoyed their dumbells and im glad for the most part, everyone reracks them. Sadlly im a starving student so it doesnt fit my budget yet. hopefully it will in the near future. If you are looking for a master trainer please read: I have…read morebeen working with Scott since October 2025 (almost 5 months) and he has literally changed my life. In July 2024 a MRI showed 3 bulging discs in my lumbar spine and a partially torn hip labrum. At the time I was training for a pole competition and extremely passionate about progressing. So the injury was devastating--I was told I would not dance again and would probably be in chronic pain for the rest of my life. I spent a year "rehabbing" at a place that overtrained me and worsened my pain. During that year, I went into an injury cycle that created PTSD and depression from not moving my body like I once did. It was one of the darkest times of my life. In September 2025, something told me to jump ship and to look at other options. I went on Yelp and found SY Performance. When I say I manifested "thee best trainer", I mean it. Scott brings to the table nearly 30 years of experience. When we had our first phone consult I made it very clear how important it was to me that I had an absolutely different experience with whomever was going to be rehabilitating/training me. I set the intention that I deserved the best trainer for me and that is exactly what happened. When I met Scott and he evaluated me, he told me within minutes things about my body no one had ever so clearly pinpointed. Analyzing my gait, I found out I had a slight knee vagus. He saw that my shoulders were pulling forward from the overtraining. He instantly picked up the fact that I am hypermobile. He saw that while parts of my body were overtrained, other parts--my core for example--had barely been worked at all. This lead to more imbalances and more pain. All of this information from Scott was key for me. However, even more than that, I knew I was going to be able to trust him--a huge piece of the puzzle as I had so much fear of getting hurt at yet another PT Place or by another trainer. Meeting Scott was the first time I had hope that I might get my life back. I could literally cry as I write this: My goal by end of year was to go back to a pole class. On December 30, not even three months into working together, I attended a pole class. It was one of the happiest moments of my life and it would never have happened without Scott training me. He is so dialed in and knows how much the body can handle. I have gained strength, mobility, and every week is giving me more and more freedom, more of my life back. I know I will get to that Pole Compeition! Here's the thing: even if you are not injured, don't you want to work with a trainer who not only has knowledge and expertise, but actually believes in and cares about you, who is going to get you to your fitness goals? Yeah, period. ;--) Also, I need to add this... Scott is one of the most tapped in people I've met and as such he brings an element that is beyond unique--it's magical. It may sound corny or weird, but it's true. I believe it's part of why he is so good at working with people, he's not solely a trainer, he's a healer. I could kick myself and say I wish I would've found Scott sooner. It would've saved me pain, time, depression, money, etc., but at least I'm working with him now. I am developing strength and gaining muscle for the first time in a couple of years, my pain level is so much less, my whole nervous system has calmed, and I am smiling again. Thank you Scott for being a master healer/teacher/trainer- and great soul! You are such a gift! Mahalo Nui!

He gave me a ton of confidence in getting into a proper gym routine after years doing various CrossFit/endurance sport programs. He's equally challenging and encouraging, with some good humor to boot! You'll be in great hands on the gym floor. His program is so worth the value. He clearly takes great care in designing the workout program and food program, which felt new and fresh each week. I chose to go with the vegan food option in his hybrid personal training program, and the recipes were not only easy to follow, they were DELICIOUS. The gym itself is awesome. I love the front desk family and how well maintained all of the equipment is. They keep everything really clean and tidy. It's also just the right amount of busy, so on the days I wasn't training directly with Scott, I still felt like I had the space to move around from each machine without any issues. I plan on returning in the new year for another round of fitness, and in the meantime, I'm really enjoying working out on my own thanks to Scott's direction!

I explained that I didn't know much about CrossFit, but did know my way around free weights and equipment. I was thoroughly prepped on what to expect, and that I was encouraged to start slow and at my own pace. When I first arrived for class, all the clients were friendly and encouraging. Hard working, but not an overly athletic vibe. As a beginner I did not feel intimidated nor overwhelmed. The workouts are geared for RX/Expert level, but are easily scaled for each individual's skill and ability level. Ownership sets a standard of hygiene and requiring all members to wipe down and disinfect all used equipment as the classes take place live. There was minimal equipment, that is of the highest quality. I thought a gym would need all kinds of equipment? But we achieve all the Physical results with the equipment provided and the plethora of routines prescribed each day. Simple workouts, with instruction, supervision and concern for each client. Open Gym 1 also has personal training and open gym times 6 days weekly. Pricing was competitive with all gyms in the surrounding area. Gym 1 has changed my life. In the past year I've changed my body shape, gained substantial muscle mass, and I'm in the best shape I've been in the last 25 years. I'm in my mid 50's and owe a debt of gratitude to the staff and clients of Open Gym 1. Orale

I would like to preface this review by saying that every member is entitled to their opinion. And…read morethat one of the hardest parts of running any business is keeping all of its clients happy But I had noticed something different recently in the vibe of classes but couldn't put my finger on it until I read a recent review pointing out some "negative" issues with the trainers. I'd like to offer a different perspective because I do feel like changes made in policy in reaction to one persons review have now created a downgrade in my experience when coming to this F45 First of all, bringing energy and motivation to group fitness classes is one of the hardest things to do on a daily basis. So when coaches are actively training along side members during classes I feel like it's bringing a level of energy that otherwise can be missing. It's one thing to offer verbal encouragement but another to show it. I know for myself, it lifts my energy level up when coaches are active participants in class. I know I'm giving 110% that day if they're in it with me. Also in regards to dancing and filming during class. Again, it's about perspective. Dancing, is also part of creating energy in the class atmosphere. It's putting smiles on faces when you're struggling thru your workout or your life. Part of having the two coach format, is not so that they can stand on opposite sides of the room and clap their hands. If they are interactive and play off each other, I would consider it a positive thing. Filming often makes it onto social media which helps to promote the business, I'm sure the coaches goal is not to portray themselves on social media as lazy people who are goofing off during work. I think it may be misconstrued that because the coaches are actively participating in classes or finding different ways to motivate or entertain people. That they are somehow "not doing their job" But I find that that's not the case. They're still aware of the clients, giving direction, offering encouragement, and giving corrections on form. I would like to point out that diversity in types of coaches and coaching styles is actually key in the group fitness format. The best way to attract from a larger more diverse client pool is to foster an environment where not every coach feels like the same carbon copy of every other coach that just clocks in and "does the thing" Also to finish. Community, is one of the HARDEST things to build in any gym. And when you're building community then your personal lives outside the gym starts to blend in with members personal lives. So you can call it "drama or high school" but that's what happens when you blend friendships that extend outside the gym. Those friendships are genuine and the time fostering community is always uncompensated, but again add up to memberships that benefit the business. Just because there are conversations had that aren't... wow that Marathon, that was a tough one. Station 3 what a killer. Doesn't mean that that needs to be taken away. Please don't turn this into some corporate robot gym

I booked "High Rollers" with Shannon and Michael through Classpass and felt the burn in my core the following day. Michael was motivating and encouraging. Doors opened at 5:15 PM and class began at 5:30 PM. Shannon's pup greeted us at the door. Shannon gave us a rundown of the workouts before we started our warmup. Workouts had the same format as the Alhambra location. Only difference is, wherever you stand for the warmup is the station you'll begin the workout. This location didn't provide towels or a cooldown stretch after the class. They have two individual gender neutral, clean restrooms with thoughtful amenities, such as hair ties. Cubbies are located in the front of the class to store your belongings. Water refill station is located in the back, next to the restrooms. Parking was hard to find behind F45, but I found parking across the street on the rooftop. Parking is free, which is a plus!

Like when I wanted to run the Spartan Sprint race on a whim back in 2018. Not only did Erick help me reach my short term goal of preparing for the race, he ran it with me. It's nice to have a workout instructor whose that committed to fitness. Don't get me wrong, the sprint still kicked my butt, but I finished with some time to spare. The thing about this is I was not someone who would even WANT to run the race in the first place. The consistency of the personalized routines changed my mindset as well as my physique. He even offers homework if you want to start taking steps a bit further for quicker results. I'm trying to sell you on Erick, and that's because Erick is the gym.
