Brooke gives the BEST workout classes ever. I am sad that I moved away and can no longer attend. She kicks your butt with humor and hard work. So much fun and the community is great. I can't recommend her highly enough! You will not regret signing up for her classes. So do it! read more

This is my second update for Fit Happens. I just had my second baby in January 2013. I worked out, with modifications, throughout my entire pregnancy and up to a day before I gave birth. Brooke is amazing at making sure you're not hurting yourself or your pregnancy. And as soon as my doctor cleared me for workout, I was back 10 weeks postpartum at bootcamp. I had a particularly tough birth and recovery so it was longer than I would have liked to get back to working out. I only gained about 35 pounds with this pregnancy but because it took me 10 weeks to get back to exercising after the baby, I gained a little more postpartum. Brooke kept telling me not to worry, that I would lose it all quickly because of muscle memory. And she was right. My son is now 7.5 months old and I am 2 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight. I can do 100-150 push ups, squats, sit-ups, and am training for a 10k. My arms are toned again, the fat melted away and I am back in my size 0 pants. I ran 4.5 miles yesterday which is the farthest I have ever run and I'm feeling back to my old self. I can't believe it all happened under 8 months. Brooke and Doug are amazing trainers and they are honest and supportive. They understand the process and are great at relaying that information to you in a way that you can understand. Brooke taught me that counting calories and exercising yield results. I still eat, but not only do I exercise and count calories, I enjoy doing so. Every day class is different. We'll sometimes run down to the high school and run the track and the bleachers, sometimes will run a 5k, or sometimes just a short warm up run. We work with weights, bands, balls, you name it, we do it. Sledge hammers, ropes, all kinds of fun stuff. We also get together and have done 5ks, 10ks, triathlons and Spartan races together. The friendships I have made in this group are amazing and supportive. We all look after each other and they have become my "fitness" family. So, not only do we work hard, we have fun along the way. My son goes with me to bootcamp now and the sitter and all the other bigger kids just adore him. So mommy gets to work out and baby gets a playdate. read more

Brooke is extremely great at motivating people to get fit and very knowledgeable to boot. I can 100% say that I feel the best I've felt in many years from participating in her programs! read more

Brooke is a loving, supportive trainer who will helps you meet your fitness goals. I have used her for years.

I've worked out with a lot of trainers in my lifetime and Fit Happens LA is the best. I do private training and Brooke comes to my home and kicks my butt! She incorporates creative strength training which keeps me interested--and challenged! They also offer Bootcamp classes in person and online, as wel as The Gauntlet which is a 30 day lifestyle challenge integrating nutrition and exercise and more with a FB group that is super supportive and hilarious at the same time: ) Definitely give it a try -- I highly recommend!!! read more

When I signed up, I had just moved to LA . I was overweight and knew maybe 4 people. Brooke is funny, motivating, and inspiring, both for a workout coach and in life. Best decision ever. I lost 35 lbs my first year and kept most of it off for the last two years. More importantly, I am stronger and I have a great group of supportive friends now. Join us! read more

I have been blown away by Brooke Purdy and her incredible Gauntlet challenge. She is so encouraging, funny, and intense wrapped up in this little ball of inspirational fire! I lost forty pounds in four months and have kept it off for another three. In nearly three decades of yo-yo dieting and exercise, this is BY FAR the best and most effective journey to health I've ever had. Brooke has created an amazing community and has actually made it FUN to workout. I cannot recommend Fit Happens LA enough. It has made me incredibly strong and I am a completely different person both physically and emotionally after starting this journey. Update 5/19/17--- it has been two years and the weight is still off... and I am stronger and faster and healthier than ever. read more

A couple of months ago, I had hit rock bottom with my weight, exercise and diet. I emailed Brooke and told her my situation and she said "get to bootcamp. Supportive women, fun workouts, etc." Understatement of the year. What I got on my first day (and every day since!) has been priceless. The workouts are top notch, your fellow bootcampers (and trainers!) are kind, supportive and STRONG. There to help you when you feel like you've hit your limit. Brooke and Doug truly have something special here. They are amazing trainers and it shows in the results they yield from their clients. Run, don't walk to Fit Happens. Side note: aside from amazing workouts and people, the childcare is so great! My boys love it. I love that my kids get to see me work hard. Priceless. read more

Fit Happens L.A. - Boot Camps Near Me - Burbank, California

I am SO HAPPY I discovered Fit Happens! My daughter is about to turn 3 and I still wasn't fitting into my pre-pregnancy jeans, and could not get a routine down for the life of me when it came to working out! Pre-child I loved working out, I don't know why it was so hard afterwards! With Fit Happens that changed, and I'm in the best shape I've been since my daughter was born and lost 5 lbs. right away. (Although I'm still a work in progress). I have had a great time laughing and meeting other moms - it is super casual and fun, not intimidating AT ALL to those who haven't been to the gym in awhile - yet at the same time - A SERIOUS WORKOUT! If I could give it more stars I would! p.s. Oh yes, and for $5 a session, she provides a babysitter. So, no excuses of why you can't go! p.p.s and you can set it up where she comes to you if you get a small group together - $200 for 16 classes - you can't beat that. read more

Working with Brooke and Fit Happens LA has quite honestly changed my life. I am in the best shape I've ever been in and I've had a blast getting there. If you had told me even 6 months ago that I would be exercising every day and loving it - I would have laughed at you. Brooke is a kind hearted, funny and extremely motivating leader. She will push you hard - but with a perfect balance of love and humor that makes you bring everything you've got to every workout. The energy in the classes is supportive and friendly AND every single workout is different so you will NEVER get bored. If you've been looking for a way to commit to your health and fitness - I cannot encourage you enough to come join the fun at Fit Happens LA! read more

Hoorahhhhh!!! Incredible place! I love this place. The first week is the hardest , after that when you see the results you just enjoy all the soreness. Another thing about this place that's great is the mixture of genders, there's a nice even mix of male and female. The time passes by fast with all the moving and sweating. The trainers are very caring to all your needs ., for example you want to emphasize on a specific part , they will definitely help you achieve your goals.I have about 4 gyms and haven't ever achieved what I wanted. Doug has been great in helping me work on the areas I need.. Great place, awesome trainers, fun environment ! Hoorahhh!!! read more

I have never done personal training or a boot camp before--I was always afraid I would die, haha. But Brooke was fantastic. I am a middle-aged mom of 3, in good health, but I have always hated exercise. It's just not fun for me. But I want to be strong and be a good example to my kids. My teen daughters and I (various levels of fitness-no sports experience to former dedicated athlete) did personal training with Brooke as well as The Gauntlet and her zoom classes. I actually *liked* doing her workouts because you feel so freaking CAPABLE. She focuses on health and strength and it was such a positive experience for me and my daughter's. She is tough, but supportive. Takes no crap, but gives the tough love. I am so grateful I and my girls get to have Brooke in their lives, especially at such an impressionable age as they grow into themselves. Also, we all love showing off our newly-toned muscles to each other! :) Brooke has positively impacted our entire family's health for the long-term!! read more

Cancel your gym membership. This is the way to work out for results. I love this boot camp. I can't recommend it highly enough. Excellent workouts. Something different everyday. Non-competitve, supportive group - kept small so you get a lot of personalized attention/program tailoring. As a new mom, I was desperate for a way to work out in a way that would be inclusive of my son - I am free of guilt every day when I work out with Fit Happens bootcamp because the childcare is excellent. My son loves the kids and the babysitter - and we're right outside the door, should he ever need anything. It's a great feeling knowing I am working on myself while he is enjoying playing with friends - not shoving him into some too-crowded, gym childcare room. The home environment and small sitter/kid ratio means he feels like he goes to a playgroup each time I workout. That is something that has kept me feeling like I can do it for as long as I have. I started with thinking I'd do it one month - I'm now on my 8th session. I've lost over 30 pounds and my silhouette has totally changed. I'm stronger, more fit, and more confident. Wearing a size I can't remember wearing in I don't know how long. I recommend this boot camp for any fitness level, any age, any gender. Modifications are made when necessary. I hope you'll check it out! It's so worth it! And such a GREAT deal. read more

i gained a LOT of weight during my pregnancy and was really worried about getting back to my normal shape. i was about 15-20 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight and had one month to get off those last 10 pounds before i went back to work when i stumbled upon Fit Happens. i signed up for a 4-week session (3x a week) and lost 8 pounds in a month! although i still have some of my baby weight to lose, i look and feel MUCH better than before joining the boot camp. the other mommies in my play group all commented on how great i was looking. i was determined not to buy new work clothes for when i returned to work and because of Fit Happens i didn't have to. i still have about 5-10 more pounds to go, but that will come off once i stop breastfeeding (or so i am told). i managed to fit into my old work clothes and even my pre-pregnancy jeans! surprise surprise. i don't work out because it's so boring, but doug and brooke make workouts fun. plus the other people you meet in class are lots of fun too. the only down side is it's hard on your pockets if you decide to go monthly. for me, a month was a good amount of time to get back into shape. i would definitelly recommend this to all who think running on a treadmill is the most boring workout in the world. this is so different! read more

I've been taking Brooke's Gauntlet program - a 30-day fitness+food+lifestyle challenge and just signed up for round #2. I've found it very effective because it incorporates both food AND exercise, and Brooke provides DAILY accountability, tough love, encouragement, and course corrections. It's just the right amount of structure and flexibility. In addition, you'll be part of a really supportive communities of other Gauntleteers, who are part of the journey with you. The Gauntlet is a virtual program so you can join from anywhere. I just wish I lived close to Brooke so I could train with her in person! read more

This is my first update since posting in June. With doctor's orders in hand, I started with Doug for the 6AM classes 4 days a week. When I started, I could barely run half a block without being hunched over and gasping for air. I'm quite proud to report that 2 Fridays ago, I ran 3 miles. At Doug's urging, my wife has entered us in a 5k run at Hansen Dam in mid August! On top of that, I met with my doctor this week and he was SHOCKED that I had dropped 15 pounds in 6 weeks. He also took me off blood pressure meds I've been on for over a year!! I won't lie, the workouts are still hard, but Doug is a great instructor and I couldn't have accomplished all this without his help. With the right kind of diet and keeping my nose to the grindstone, it does work! I'm the poster-boy. Well, maybe not yet, but gimme 20 more pounds! Thanks Fit Happens LA read more

Fit Happens L.A.'s online gauntlet challenge is a great way to jumpstart weight loss and fitness. Brooke gives you all the tools you need to succeed, new challenges every week and a community of support! Highly recommend! read more

I have tried several diets and workout routines, from personal trainers to gyms to keto to intermittent fasting to nothing. My body and mind knew those fad diets weren't helping me long term. I gave up on exercise routines mostly when it began to be a "lone game," the once a week trainer didn't live in my head, and family didn't share the same interests. Brooke, Fit Happens, and her Gauntlet group method came along, and it's what I need. Since joining the Gauntlet, I'm focused on health, not weight loss (which comes as a by-product). I'm developing great long term, nutritional eating habits, while getting daily exercise. I'm accountable each day for my nutrition and exercise program by posting my results to a Facebook group page. I get constant feedback and feel like my trainer and a group of other amazing, intelligent and funny people (men and women) I've mostly never met live in my head. We are all seeking the same thing and Brooke knows how to deliver and motivate. She also offers a daily bootcamp (streamed and taped) to all Gauntlet members which is fun, inspiring and works. It you want it, this is the place. read more

I moved from the area and was SO sad to have to leave Brooke. Silver lining of COVID - I get to work out with Brooke again virtually! I LOVE our workouts and laughing together, Brooke makes working out challenging AND FUN. Don't wait, book some time ASAP! read more

THE BEST BOOTCAMP and fitness training!! Love Brooke so much and have never enjoyed exercising more than when I have done it with her. She's super fun and encouraging and makes sure you get your sweat on and feel like a badass. Can't recommend enough! read more

I'm 32, and before meeting Brooke I'd never committed to exercise in my entire life. No team sports as a kid, never a gym rat, not even regular yoga, nothing. When I signed up with a personal trainer before my wedding four years ago, I spent every session trying to keep her chatting so there would be less torture time. I'm probably the laziest, most un-athletic person on earth. I'm not even motivated by having paid good money on something--I can't count the $ I've wasted on gym memberships, trainers, and unlimited yoga packages. It's too depressing. I'm now in my 10th week of boot camp and I can truly say I'm converted. I just signed up for my first ever 5k! I look forward to the sessions, I miss them when I can't go. The group dynamic is great, everyone is really supportive, not a hint of LA attitude. Brooke is amazing (I'm sure Doug is too, but I'm convinced Brooke has some magic spell that keeps me coming so I haven't risked switching it up). I've never done the same workout twice, which I think is the reason I just keep showing up. With previous attempts at working out, I would anticipate what was going to happen, psych myself out, and just decide not to go. With Brooke, I have no idea what we're going to be doing, so I just show up and let her take it from there. It's always really HARD, but in a good way. I never thought I'd say that. I can't say enough good things about it! read more

This is really an incredible deal. I found out about it through the peachheads baby and child posting board and I thought of it as a postnatal boot camp, but actually there are a wide range of people in the classes including several guys - my husband is planning on doing the boot camp now, too. Doug is really encouraging, low-key, and friendly - it's a VERY challenging workout but in a relaxed, friendly environment. The teachers are very receptive to individual needs and goals, injuries, limitations, etc. I just had a baby two months ago and I'm trying to get back to pre-baby shape and I love this class, I look forward to it every day - and you can't beat the price. read more

Fit Happens really is as good as it gets. Four months ago, I was a mom who couldn't do a single push-up, even "girl" style. And after working with the amazing team at Fit Happens just 2 times a week, I've seen so many changes in my overall shape and in my overall attitude towards myself. I have way more confidence when picking my daughter up, I even toss her up in the air over and over again now because I have the strength I never had! I love that they hold their classes in people's back yards or at local parks, I love being outside when I work out, especially in LA! The trainers have the best attitudes, they know the perfect balance between encouraging and motivating. They work with you right where you are and help you achieve a level of fitness I've always dreamed of. I've never felt better and it's all thanks to my own motivation and FIT HAPPENS. YOU MUST CHECK THEM OUT! read more

I left a review a few years ago and figured it was time to update it. I LOVE FIT HAPPENS. I am a different person because of it. First, I have never liked working out and have always avoided it. I've taken Doug's 6 AM class now for over 2 years. Never in my life have I voluntarily committed to getting up that early, let alone getting up to exercise. What I've found is that it's the best time of day to do it. I can roll out of bed, show up, work out and continue my day without interruption. It's cooler in the summer that time of day, and doesn't take time away from my work and family. I'm still not a morning person, but getting up that early is definitely worth it--when I try to work out later, something always comes up that interferes. At the same time, the 9:30 class has child care for a very small fee. If only I knew about it when my kids were little! Doug is a fantastic teacher. Every workout is different, so you don't get bored anticipating the same thing over and over. He also has a great sense of humor so I always laugh every class. He modifies my work out because I have longstanding knee and wrist issues, and doesn't judge me about it like so many trainers seem to do. I never thought I'd run, but after two years, it's my preferred cardio. Both Doug and Brooke also are excellent resources for nutritional advice. The environment is positive and Fit Happens seems to attract really nice people. Men and women of all shapes, ages, sizes and fitness levels take the class and Doug easily accommodates us all. Fit Happens is a motivating, fun and amazing place to get in shape. I wish everybody could experience it! read more

I can't even find the words to express how happy I am that I found Brooke's Gauntlet program. I gained 20lbs several years ago and no matter what I tried, nothing seemed to move the needle. The Gauntlet works!! I love the way I can easily incorporate the changes into my life, the accountability, and the sense of community. I have found a a long term sustainable way of life and a brand new group of soul sisters/brothers. Not to mention that Brooke is the voice in my head that both cheers for me and calls me out. Highly recommend! read more

Brooke is everything you want in a personal trainer. A drill sergeant/friend/comedian/parent. She truly cares about her clients in a super fun way. You don't want to let her down so you work that much harder. It is all not about getting in shape but a whole life change at how you look at food and your body. I really have enjoyed my time training with her and feel the best I have felt in years. read more

Started working out with Brooke about a month ago and joined her Gauntlet challenge. It's been a really really great experience so far. The support, the encouragement, the workouts - and the best part is she meets you where you are at with nothing but love and inspiration. She pushes you to challenge yourself and is always there to cheer you on. Has definitely been a positive experience and would recommend her and Fit Happens LA to anyone!! read more

Fit happens changed my life. Brooke is caring, inspiring and knows how to modify so you can always make an exercise work. I'm down 30 lbs in 4 months from doing the gauntle. The boot camp classes alone are worth it. Fit will happen to you here. read more

I've been doing the Gauntlet challenge with Brooke over the past 2 months and am so glad I learned about her program! It's helped me to form better healthy habits and to lose a few inches. I joined the 30 day Gauntlet. It is amazing. Brooke is attentive, knowledgeable, supportive, and dedicated. Her daily fitness classes are no joke. And the daily accountability for tracking food intake, exercise, and engagement is a difference maker. The other Gauntleteers inspire, encourage, and offer a bit of healthy competition! If you have trouble putting yourself first, prioritizing your health, or just don't want to face getting in shape alone - join up today! You will be glad you did. read more

I've never liked going to the gym - I couldn't keep up a routine and I got bored really fast. I also never understood why people used trainers. After one class with Brooke, I completely understood. Instead of my hours of hiking and yoga, I could get even more of a work out packed into a single hour. Trainers are so efficient! And... trainers really kick your ass. I have never worked on myself this hard and the results are more than great - I can't believe what I've already done in four months. I think I'm even happier that I have this new tribe of women in my life - LA is so impersonal - who even knows their neighbors? - and now I've got these amazing, powerful, strong women encouraging me and challenging me. I heart boot camp. I really do. read more

Brooke and Doug run an amazing camp. I go to Burbank and I can say after having gone nearly 2 full months I HAVE NEVER HAD THE SAME WORKOUT TWICE! Half the irritation of group classes is the fact that teachers bore you by repeating the tried and true. Brooke and Doug change it up every class, optimizing muscle confusion in the body and super fun for the boot campers. They take into consideration injuries, offering modifications for those who are on the mend and they'll encourage you to go as hard as you can to make sure your body will rock. With zero arm strength, after my first class I had a hard time lifting a mascara wand. Yesterday I did 76 full pushups in 3 minutes and I have barely any arm soreness today. That's progress! I'm stronger than ever, have a cool new group of peeps I enjoy seeing 3x a week and I love Fit Happens. ************* Update 7/30/13 I have now been with Fit Happens for over a year and a half. My arms are fierce, my stamina hugely improved and my social life a whole lot better. Moms, you owe yourself some YOU time with awesome like-minded people. I've had such a great experience. When I've had spells of back pain (Definitely not due to them, just a history of back issues) there have always been modifications offered so I can still get a great workout while protecting myself. And again, after 19 mos with them, it's never the same workout twice. From slingshot running to crazy hiking to training up for mud runs, they always switch it up. Get to boot camp. You'll love it. read more

I can't express how amazing my experience with Fit Happens was. I have never looked forward to working out, but in the two months I trained with Brooke, I was giddy every morning I got to work out. Brooke is not only an incredibly skilled trainer, but she is a kick ass, hilarious woman with an abundance of positive energy! The Burbank group was warm, welcoming, and inspirational. It was such a joy to be able to share in the heart-pumping and challenging exercises with other moms. That shared experience really helped motivate me to push harder. Fit Happens was the perfect motivation to get me back in gear, and invested in my fitness. I will definitely be back next summer! read more

I was very nervous to go to a "Boot Camp" type class. I usually run and or do yoga so signing up to try this class was beyond my comfort level. Brooke is so funny and supportive that I kept going back. I've now been going for almost a year. The classes are great. She changes the exercises up every day so you never know what you are in for. Sometimes we box, sometimes we do hill work, most times I feel it for days after. I feel so much stronger and have had many times where I find myself doing things I didn't think I could. I've made some amazing friendships through this Boot Camp and can't recommend it enough. read more

I can't say enough good stuff about this bootcamp. Brooke is an amazing trainer and a wonderful person. I started attending when my baby was 10 weeks old and I was struggling with 55 extra pounds post-baby weight. I felt completely miserable in my own skin. I was nervous to start something like this because I was so out of shape. But as soon as I met Brooke and the other ladies in the camp, I felt right at ease. The workouts are TOUGH but Brooke is always encouraging and makes you feel proud of what you CAN do and not feel lame for what you can't. I love going to bootcamp-- it is one hour out of the day when my child is taken care of (by the wonderful onsite babysitter) and I can do something for myself, get an amazing workout, enjoy seeing my fellow campers, and get to listen to Brooke's funny stories (or helpful workout tips)! I am still a work in progress, like Brooke told me, "I'm not through with you!". But after 10 months of bootcamp and (mostly) watching my food intake I have lost almost 30 pounds, down 3 dress sizes, lost SO many inches, improved my running, gained so much strength and so much confidence! I recommend this bootcamp to everyone I know! read more

I have always loved working out. I used to run and take a lot of spinning classes. But after having a baby (who is now SIX) I lost focus and needed something to inspire me again. Enter Brooke and Fit Happens boot camp. I have NEVER worked as hard, had more fun or seen the kind of results I am seeing in my LIFE. The classes are always different which keeps it interesting. And Brooke is a great teacher with the wackiest sense of humor! I've been doing boot camp four times a week for not quite two months. And my body has TRANSFORMED. I look different, my clothes fit differently, and best of all, I feel STRONG. The unlimited monthly package deal is a fraction of the price of most classes or trainers and is worth every penny. I highly recommend! read more
