I have to say, Beef & Liberty, color me impressed. I came here on a Saturday night at around 8:30pm, and it was about 50% full - quite nice and pleasant atmosphere, I can only imagine how much more busy and noisier it is on Friday nights.
For four girls, we ordered the following:
- 2 x Mac and Cheese Bites (HK$52): Served with rocket pesto dip on the side that was very refreshing. A guilty pleasure in the mouth.
- Liberty Fries (HK$30) and Chili Cheese Fries (HK$53): the fries were thick and crispy, delicious with the beef chili and cheesy topping.
- Bacon Cheese Burger (HK$132): OK, not enough bacon present, but the beef patty was excellent.
- Black Pepper Burger (HK$128): My favorite of the evening, I'm a huge fan of rocket in burgers and this one rocked my socks! We asked them to cut the burger in half, to reveal that GORGEOUS pink middle. The black pepper enhanced the taste of the beef, and along with the caramelized onions, mhmm mhmm mhmm! Superb!
- The Notorious P.I.G. (HK$98): Least favorite of the evening, perhaps because this arrived while we were still eating the other two beef burgers, so by the time we tried it, it had gotten cold. The slow-braised BBQ pork marinade wasn't very memorable and lacked the WOW factor I was hoping for.
- Banoffee pie (HK$68) for dessert. The bottom crust was so hard to cut through! We asked for a knife and they gave us a steak knife, haha! Still delicious nevertheless, this is the one dessert I always look out for on dessert menus - it's a rare gem - and snatch it up when I see it.
Service: IMPECCABLE. Maybe because we came on a less busy night, they were able to give us more attention? When we first got the bill, I noticed that one of the drinks ordered was noticeably more expensive than the listed menu price. I informed our waiter who then took the bill back, checked with their POS system. He returned with the new bill, apologizing for the mistake and offered to take the mis-priced drink off our bill! How nice! Ding ding ding ~ 5 stars for service! Also, they don't include a service charge on the bill, so be sure tip your waiter accordingly. ((OR it could also be already factored in the price of the food items?))
I don't normally frequent restaurants in LKF, but Beef & Liberty is one that I will return to for sure. I definitely approve of their high-end tomato Wilkin & Sons ketchup - such a nice touch and boost from your typical hamburger joint. read more
