    Cookies and cream

This is an absolute 5-star establishment. They serve quality burgers at a reasonable price. I had to inquire about the beef since it tasted deliciously different. They use hormone free grass-fed cow from Scotland. We stopped by on the weekend and it was packed with foreigners and locals mingling in a very casual atmosphere. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Warren, who was extremely kind and tentative towards all of the customers. We had the opportunity to try the cookie and cream which was an absolute heaven. The cookie itself was crispy on top yet suprisingly soft on the inside. Once the cream was drizzled on top, it was a delectable gooey dessert. MUST TRY if you are at Stanley Plaza. Also check out the photos.

So far my favourite restaurant in Stanley. Burgers are consistently top notch. It's a bit pricey, but solid quality. Wait staff is friendly.

It is more of a bar than it is a burrito joint. Come here for the drinks or for their attempt at Latin / Mexican bar food and bring some good company to boot. This is one of those places where a good time depends on who's drinking and who's not. The place has plenty of seating on the inside and quite a section for outdoor action. Folks can smoke and drink as they please outside with no problems. On the inside they have TVs galore, usually broadcasting Mexican soccer / futbol games. The staff is not pretentious and they have provided good service each time I'm here. Don't be nervous about trying to say the words on the menu, chances are the nearly app Nepalese staff might have trouble saying it too. Let's one thing straight: the "Mexican" food here is close to an abomination. Anyone coming here to get their fix of sopa tortilla or the next great mole poblano will be sorry they did. The bar is stacked with versions of bar friendly Mex, which includes nachos, quesadillas, and tacos. Most of the aforementioned is incredibly mediocre, but being that HK is not blessed with quality Mexican fare, the food at Tequila Jack's is hardly a surprise. Do however, indulge on their themed nights. On Saturday nights for example, is steak night for $108 each. It is a 10oz steak with some fixins like fries, veggies, and corn on the cob. I'm usually not terribly crazy about cheap steak but theirs is a slight exception. My steak has been cooked perfectly each time and the marbling / fat actually melts in your mouth. I have been here since the prices were $90 and the steak has been one of the only highlights food wise. On the drink front, they have a legit array of Mexican beers along with a stellar selection of tequila. It's probably the most abundant collection of tequila I've seen in the hood. The prices per shot aren't cheap ($140?) but if money doesn't matter as much the drunks are in their own league at TJ's. Lastly, if you're sitting outside at night: Watch out for our furry friends running around. They have caused quite a stir in the past. And *do not* feed them.

Con: There are not many other reasons you'd specifically come to this bar. Pro: They have almost twice the size of the original store. Con: It's a bit further away from the actual Causeway Bay, and further uphill. Pro: They have an amazing list of beers to choose from (well, amazing in terms of CWB's standard, not Soho's). Con: You have to be very patient to get a server, due to its prolonged corridor. It's a flaw by design. Pro: Unlimited peanuts and you can toss them on the floor. Hell YES. Con: It isn't really an "Inside out" anymore as most of the areas are indoors or covered. More cons: "membership" only (although it's like $20 a month, or you can tell the server that the friend of yours who is a member "is coming"). It closes relatively early to other bars, and also it lacks of other entertainment (darts, pools, etc.). But surely you can go to their professional pool room if you are keen. But as a sport bar, I still enjoy every bit of it, if not more than its original location, which was somehow always full.

I also ordered the hot wings, the waiter was very nice, as he warned us the sauce can be quite spicy for some, and asked if I want to have them on side instead. I was like: bring it on. The wings looked slightly skinnier than before, but taste wise, it is still there. Celery on the side looked a bit .. yellow though, but still crunchy!

Wow! Super surprised there is a yelp entry for this restaurant!…read more This place I feel is not in the most ideal area. Personally, I don't like coming to LKF to have dinner or lunch or whatever. Still, I can't fault them too much for the location, and many people have actually done the same since there are a number of good restaurants in LKF area. This place is primarily a steak place, though they have a few other things to choose from as well. I believe lunch times they offer a AYCE sort of option, where you get a main and then the salad bar is buffet. I've been to it before and it's pretty good. I've heard however since COVID they have changed it somewhat. The other night I came and got the seafood guazzetto, which is about $300 HKD, and has a bunch of different things such as fish, octopus, clams, etc. Lots of seafood essentially. Other things I tried included the sides of brussel sprouts, mushrooms, bruschetta, some of my brother's sirloin steak, some of the fish of the day (halibut?). Overall, the food is quite nice. I will say, they tend to use a bit too much butter/oil here. I know this is kind of true whenever you eat out, but here it is definitely noticeable. I would recommend them to tone it down just a little bit, since there are always ways to spice up your dish without going overboard on the fats

They also brought out some veggies and dip before we ordered (which I had never seen done before) along with bread. The highlight of the night was the steaks of course. We shared the florentina (aka the porterhouse. A 32oz wagyu beast) and a filet. The meats came on a cutting board already cut, so the sharing was easy. They were perfectly seasoned, tender, and flavorful. We had roasted veggies and creamed spinach as sides. The latter was addictive! Chef Todd was around to explain their meat selection when I walked around to check them out in the case. We didn't get to send our regards to him, as we stayed late and were the last to leave. Todd, if you're reading this, hail to the chef! We went without a reservation and were seated right away. It was a Thursday night, but we had gotten there around 9 which might explain the vacancy. It's a great option for groups and celebratory dinners :)

It was and still is such a hard thing to find in HK, which seems strange given the popularity of burgers and the huge expat population. Now that several big time fast food chains (#1) have opened up, Burger Joys and their pricey burgers may seem somewhat pedestrian. Burger Joys is still fairly unconventional from most of the other burger spots, which includes serving full on booze (even cocktails!) and remaining open for 24 hours a day. The latter is mainly for location's sake, Wanchai and it's red light district vibe tends to spurn a lot of expat visits; many of whom are less likely to look for a HK Cafe over the idea of a burger and fries. The burgers themselves evoke memories of In N Out by presentation alone, sans taste and price. That said, the burgers are good. I'm not sure if the signature double cheeseburger warrants the $139HKD price tag, but it's still tasty. Throw in a shake and some fries (better with truffle!), the meal gets closer to 200HKD+ with the service charge. Thank goodness they accept credit cards. The service has been a mix of great and subpar. Some days when the gentleman from Vancouver is working, the service is professional, fun, and efficient. Some other days / hours, it's a crapshoot of casual and lackluster staff. The mileage definitely varies. I suppose the adage applies: come for the food and nothing else. The flavors of the pork sandwich didn't work well together and the bread came soaked-through soggy. * The lobster broth pasta was well... noodles in strong lobster broth. * For dessert, we decided on the mascarpone donuts. Sad, deflated little puffs. It's worth noting that they are baked with mascarpone, not mascarpone-filled as we had hoped. Overall, food & service was okay.
