Found this place on our at back to Miami. Given the reviews, we came in to check it out. Now, the inside is average looking, tables and chairs but it doesn't matter because the service and food was great. We were attended to immediately, placed our order and quickly got our food. Tried the butter chicken, tandoori chicken and kebabs & naan. Everything was flavourful and plenty of food for the three of us. The mango & regular lassi was also great. I saw in another review that bathrooms weee dirty. That wasn't the case when we attended. Overall, it was a great quick meal.

Goat Biryani is the best. Chicken Korma and tandoori chicken were great too. Amazing food off JYp and Taft Vineland in S Orlando. Highly recommended. New owners/ managers! Beautiful music.

We dined in on a Monday early evening when it was not so busy. The staff was nice in welcoming us and took our order. The food also came in on time but I am sorry to say it has got to be the worst food I had in Orlando. The steak was hard as a rock versus all the reviews that says it's melting soft. The chicken tikka Biryani was bad too the chicken was raw cooked. We also had a cup of chai (tea) which was just terrible. I had no option left other than complaining about the quality of food. The guy was nice and offered us to choose something else from the menu and took away the previous order. Since we were traveling we had to have something to eat so we decided to order a chaat, a chicken Karhai and some naan. This time the chaat was terrible but naan and karhai was good. I am surprise now all these reviews rate this place best in town unless the chef was having a bad day when I came in. Only giving them a two star because of the excellent customer service to remediate the mess and clean atmosphere and quick service Food wise i would rate them 0 If you are in town you are better off dining else where

#Orlandoburgerweek special Chicken Tikka Sandwich

I stopped by for Orlando burger week and fell in love with their chicken sandwich. They were offering a special and I had not been here in a few years. They offer a variety of American and Indian food. The chicken sandwich is marinated and then grilled to order. I could smell them cooking it. It is on a plump bun with lettuce, onion and tomato. My server recommended the addition of cheese and it was spot on. My husband liked the chicken sandwich so much he asked me to swing by and pick up a couple more. The fries are fresh hot and cooked just right. We want to try the ribeye next time. Pros: Great service- Second visit the server remembered I like mayonnaise! He was prompt and friendly. I did not have to ask for anything. Good food at fair prices - I went one day at lunch and they had a fair amount of customers. Socially distanced of course. They have tables outside Observing Covid precautions. This important to me so I felt safe getting food here. There are not really any cons but it is not the fanciest place in town. The decor was simple but very clean. They offer bottled sodas and drinks available in a cooler. We are going to be regulars at Charcoal Zyka

TAHMID was our server!! He is nice and got all of our orders correct! It is clean here. The ambiance is pleasant. The FOOD!!! I had PALAK CURRY AND IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!

My family and I are long-time customers of Charcoal Zyka. For years, we have come to this restaurant for the amazing food that they serve (and if we get into specifics, we love the BEEF SHORT RIBS!) If you were told that they don't have ribs at this restaurant, then you should know that they're BACK and ready to be eaten! The ribs served here are extremely tender, with the meat falling off the bone as soon as we touched it. Today, the new restaurant owner Kabir (the guy in the black shirt and apron) served us our food and he treated us very nicely, repeatedly checking up on us and even giving us 2 free waters on our way out. If you're thinking about coming here to eat their beef short ribs, make sure to call ahead for the ribs that are now in abundance.

Not hard to access from S John young parkway. I wanted an Indian restaurant close to where I was getting my car serviced at Coggin Honda 1.3 miles away. The samosa chaat isn't meant to fill you up and staved off my "hangryness" until my tandoori chicken came out. My lunch partner ordered shrimp biryani with medium spice. If you don't do spice then I advise to get mild or not spicy. Medium was an exciting experience for me. The tandoori chicken hit the spot and the pieces are decent sized. Free WiFi kept the kids entertained without using my cellular data.

BBQ brisket was amazing. Meat was so tender. Chapli kabab burger was a gourmet burger that was definitely fresh and seasoned very well, came with steak fries. Butter chicken was delicious (not too spicy) naan bread was soft and made fresh, the biryani was delicious. Ignore the ambience and small space, for the price this place is a gem! Kulfi and chai were perfect. Excellent customer service. read more

5 stars for the food. We enjoyed the goat madras, goat karahi, naan bread and chai tea. Lovely taste, well executed, hearty portions and very nice service. We had a cool time stopping off randomly to grab lunch and were pleasantly surprised! Go here yes I would come again read more

Amazing. Came to Orlando from Houston for 4 days - ate here three times! That tells you everything. Great food, good service, nice location, nice interior. Was awesome to get out of the theme park for some great halal food. Ribs - really good fall off the bone, smoky flavor Their coleslaw is AWESOME! light, slightly sweet, really enjoyed it! Burger - took it to go and ate it on the plane - delicious even though we ate it a bit later :) Portugese chicken - also delicious! on the spicy side Too bad I had to come from Texas to Orlando for some good BBQ! At first glance, it may appear empty or "sketchy", but look past that. The Indian food is amazing. We didn't get any American food but what we did order was great! They have friendly staff and it's reasonably priced. It was $55 for 3 of us with plenty of left overs. I would recommend checking this place out if you're looking for some Indian food. read more

SO glad they started offering an Indian menu, it makes it the perfect place for my Venezuelan, steak-devouring husband and I to go. The Indian menu is very unique, not like the Indian food I'm used to. The owner won't tell me what makes it different, but mentioned that his recipes are more closely traditional to some neighboring country, not exactly India (I forget which country, perhaps Bangladesh). In any case, love the food, love the staff, the atmosphere is nothing special but not bad either. PS - It's halal! :P read more

My favorite Indian food in Winter Park was too far a drive for me coming from Kissimmee so I decided to try Charcoal Zyka. Not bad....pros and cons. The cons? The plaza looks brand new (kind of out of the way in a dead area) but the interior and walls are banged up badly. The ladies bathroom had a weird tube and kettle looking thing on the floor near the toilet. I do NOT want to know what they use that for. The waiter was a young guy. Kind of "ditzy" and was outside in FRONT of the door on his smoke break. Not what I want to see or smell as I walk in to the restaurant. Have been here 3x and the food was pretty consistent except for the garlic naan. It was different all 3x. The chicken tikka masala (like someone has said) is definitely not as creamy as other places. The blend of yogurt and tomato sauce is slightly different than other places. But it's still good. The chicken they use in this dish is typical. Chunks of breast. Here it is always a little tougher/sharper (like they cut the meat right off the chicken and bone shards came w/ it) It was good. Just not my favorite. It's a toss up-do I drive another 25 min. to Moghul or settle for someplace close to home? I'd love to try the Portuguese chicken. I have refrained because I'm afraid after living in Portugal I will be disappointed if it's not similar. read more

If you are a Indian spicy meat lover. This is the place for you. The tandoori chicken is tender and juicy with perfect spices. The Kadai chicken was authentic and spicy. Ambience is average but who cares when the food is so yummy!!! read more

We ate here twice on our 4 day Orlando vacation. Food was excellent. The short ribs and inferno burger were recommended by the help reviewers and the owner of the restaurant...and it did not disappoint. I always read restaurant yelp reviews but rarely post, I had to this time bc the food and service was great. Price is reasonable. The owner runs the business himself and is kind and professional. You have to check this place out! Especially halal eaters! read more

One of my favorite spots for Indian/Pakistani food. Their Portuguese chicken is my absolute favorite. The service is very respectful and welcoming, especially the young man who offers his opinions on his restaurant favorites. The entire ambiance is very nice, and clean. My first time having Indian cuisine. I had a very pleasant experience here. We ordered, Beef short ribs, curry chicken and rice, and Portuguese chicken amazing be careful with the careful it's very spicy. Everything is seasoned so well too. Even medium is alomost intolerable at least for me. Im weak when it chines to spicy though. For the sides there aren't many to choose from but the mashed potatoes and steamed veggies were good. read more

Every time I come here I wonder why I didn't come sooner. I forget how good it is. Highly recommend the crispy buffalo chicken wrap and Portuguese chicken (with bbq sauce on the side). Seasoning on the fries is unique and perfect. Top off meal with a hot cup of chai. Great service too. read more

Came all the way from Michigan for an interview, asked a friend for places he'd recommend. This was one of them. My favorite dish here was the Inferno Burger, just loved the way they incorporated spices into it. The Portuguese Chicken was pretty good as well, along with the Beef Short Ribs. All in all, a good experience, especially that Burger! read more

I found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to try it out on our way to Orlando international airport. All of the food we tried was awesome and we will definitely be back soon. Steaks were prepared how we ordered, Portuguese chicken was decent so this place gets 2 stars for that. We also ordered biryani, butter chicken, chicken tenders and burgers and these things were terrible! Biryani had Shan masala dumped in it, butter chicken seemed strange with thin pieces of chicken floating in it and tenders breading was too thick and heavy. Also the day we were there, the wait staff and the cook were having a huge fight (screaming/shouting/banging pots) in the kitchen which we could see from the window which opens into dining! It went on the whole time we were there. Yelps positive reviews brought us there but I'm sorry the food was forgettable and we definitely didn't feel welcome there. Will not be recommending to people traveling to Orlando. read more

Awesome food. This place puts Pakistani places in New York to shame. The butter chicken, the goat biryani, the Portuguese chicken, naan.... everything was on point! And to top it off, they even got the chai right, it was like a dream come true. This was a very good addition to our trip to Disney/universal. Let's focus on the positives first: the atmosphere is incredibly fun and the live music Saturday night was a perfect touch at the bar. There were plenty of fun activities for the kids and there was an all-you-can-eat buffet for the kids with fried chicken and shrimp, macaroni and cheese, fries, and red velvet cupcakes. $25 is a deal if your child would chow down on shrimp, but it might not be a great deal if your child is usually full after four bites. Our server was absolutely fantastic, friendly and very attentive. We started off the dinner with some fantastic deviled eggs and a lemon cello cocktail. I ordered the shrimp and grits and was really disappointed with the tiny, overcooked shrimp and crawfish that accompanied the slightly bland grits. The shrimp on the kids buffet was at least four times larger than the sad little shrimp in my dish. I think the sausage was cut into smaller chunks just so it wouldn't be so obvious how small the shrimp was. My husband didn't love his heirloom tomato salad and said the Wagyu appetizer was disgusting. Dessert was mediocre. The macarons that accompanied my crème brûlée were stale and chewy. This is a fun spot for a drink and appetizer, but I would skip eating dinner at Highball & Harvest.

For a simple meal for two people, the service was unreasonably slow throughout the evening. Our server, Svet, was polite and personable, but friendliness alone could not make up for the delays. The hummus appetizer was excellent and was easily the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful and served with pita, cucumbers, carrots, and red peppers. The food presentation overall was attractive and showed promise. The most serious issue occurred when my son ordered a refill of his virgin mojito and was served a drink containing alcohol. He immediately noticed something was wrong after taking a sip and handed it to me. I tasted it as well and confirmed that it contained alcohol. Serving alcohol in a child's drink is a significant mistake and should never happen. We also ordered the steak frites based on a recommendation and were told it was exceptional. Unfortunately, the steak was extremely tough and chewy, making it difficult to eat and far from what was described. Management apologized and removed the steak from the bill, but the combination of excessive wait times, the alcohol mix-up involving a minor, and the disappointing entrée left a poor overall impression.

For those who don't know, Pepito's is like a flatbread with cheese and grilled steak, onions and peppers piled on top. They have a variety of sauces to add and they were all incredible. I know there are a few locations but we planned to stop at this location specifically during a last min birthday staycation (but not *on* my brthday) If you look online this routinly is on lists of date night and good group dining spots and there will inevitably be a ton of people in the comments complaining about it being "mid" or "basic" but that wasn't our experience at all. We had a great experience here. We initially booked for the first time of our staycation but called last min to push back a few days as I wasn't feeling very well. It was no issue at all and they changed our reservation without issue or complaints & wished me well. The space is really cool. MCM in design with a touch of California beach bungalow. We were seated in a back room with a view of the lake behind. It was a bit loud but most places are these days. I am deaf in one of my ears so one I told our server & she spoke up over the noise and it was a non-issue. Appreciated because that's not always the case. We ordered a glass of wine and the "Shirley After Dark" cocktail (I know it's a wine bar but I just felt like a cocktail) loved it. Would absolutely order it again. We ordered the house salad which was far from basic and delicious and fresh. Very light and decent size. My husband also aired the Cauliflower app which was massive. The hummus was delicious. I'm not a fan of cauliflower but he raved about it. We also split the Butchers Pizza and had them out the hot honey on the side. I can't do spice after destroying my stomach in college so they brought me a side of normal honey so I could hector full flavor profile within my dietary needs. We got to speaking with our server whose name I unfortunately can't remember (light blonde shoulder length hair if management reads this) & she was very knowledgeable about the wine selection. We're not white wine drinkers but the FL heat is a little too much for a glass of red most days so we're trying to get into it. She had 3 recommendations and brought me all three to taste. Unfortunatly I enjoyed was sold out by the time we ordered it (which at the height of tourist summer isn't beyond the realm of reasonability) We then ordered the affogato and olive oil cake. Both were delicious. It was my husband's first time trying an affogato and it has since become a favorite of his. It was mentioned in passing while chatting that we were in a last min staycation as it was my birthday week and we didn't plan anything in advance and made it clear it was not my birthday but she still comped my cocktail and the olive oil cake and wrote a lighthearted "sorry we were out of the wine" on our receipt. Which was a genuinely nice & unexpected gesture. The entire meal was quite affordable even before anything got comped compared with other options of the same caliber in the area. Portons are quite large as well. While I don't love communal tables typically, almost no one was seated at the same table and if they were it was quite far apart (see photos). I can see that being bothersome on a busy night but we were there on a summer night (busy enough to run out of a wine) so I can't imagine it being typically worse than that So I say again, I don't understand what people don't like about this place. We'll be back.

I ordered the Classic Chicken burger, and it seems they've changed it from what I remember. Instead of the chicken being made with fresh chicken pieces, it was a standard chicken patty. It wasn't bad, but it lacked the flavor and texture that made me order it in the past. I also noticed the sauce's now appear to be pre-packaged rather than available at the self-serve side station like before. One thing I missed was being able to grab all the sauces from the side station. While the pre-packaged options are convenient, they take away some of the flexibility and experience that made this place unique. It looks like they're currently remodeling or updating the restaurant, so perhaps some of these changes are temporary. The staff was friendly, service was good, and the restaurant was clean despite the ongoing work. I'll still come back because I've had many good experiences here over the years, but I'm hoping the Classic Chicken and some of the features that made this place stand out return once the remodel is complete.

Cutlery, napkins, and ketchup were hiding near the soda fountain and we weren't aware of this. Accidentally took some of the togo ketchup packets to use with our fries since we didn't know there was a ketchup dispenser. These items need to be in a better spot or the food runner should direct the customers to that area so they can get the things they need for their meals. The XO fish sauce was very similar to the Szechuan sauce and though the fish was a tad salty, it was still savory. The asparagus that accompanied that dish was chopped (easier to eat) and there were plenty of sweet snap peas and bell peppers. We adore snow pea tips and were in the mood for lots of veggies. So, we got an order to accompany our meals. We did take home most of it, along with lots of broccoli (for me) from the Szechuan scallops. We were treated to a complimentary Chinese-style dessert made with peeled split mung beans and thickened with tapioca starch into a gooey, translucent pudding that was served warm. Our meal of 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 order of veggies, a pot of tea, tax, and tip was $138.

If you would like your food undercooked, wanted to be disrespected and be treated like shit then definitely go to this place. Firstly they don't take orders over the phone UNLESS YOU ARE A FRIEND then you can order all you like and be served within minutes of your arrival whereas other customers sit waiting for food and when we ask for more chicken we are told they don't have any more chicken. But then if IF YOU ARE A FRIEND you can get as many chicken as you like. Secondly customer service is shit. There is no respect for customers what so ever specially for women. After complaining, there was no guilt and the staff did not apologize but instead had a smirk on their face. Gets 5 stars for this genre of restaurant. Low priced excellent tasting high end "picnic" food. We took the owner's recommendation of the Portuguese chicken and beef rib entrees. Both were superb. Sides were interestingly flavored takes on classics. Beans, rice and slaw. Jazz up the fries somehow and you'd have perfect sides. No beer or wine available. Burger menu looked good as well with a nice variety. Great place for kids. Kid menu could use a bit more imagination but their food was nicely done as well. read more
