We had our wedding and rehearsal dinner at the Beechwood Hotel and everything was PERFECT! The staff was amazing, and paid attention to every detail. I asked a lot more than a typical bride and wanted a lot changed from their typical services, and the entire staff worked with us. The entire stay was comfortable, the rooms were impeccable and our guests were equally pleased with their rooms! The atmosphere is relaxing and intimate. We were married in the chapel which is beautiful and exactly what my husband and I were looking for. The food was incredible and we were allowed to choose from a variety of options! Let me start by saying that I looovvveee to eat, and I'm constantly searching for new restaurants in the Worcester/Shrewsbury area and always fall short on some part of the experience when I dine out. I have heard great stuff about this particular place (food is amazing etc) and decided to head to The Beechwood hotel. Let me tell you I was blown away! They started me off with bread and a side of green and red olives chopped finely and a side of garlic purée which was truly delicious! What an entry to what proceeded next! For my first course I chose the shrimp cocktail. Let me tell you this was nottt your typical shrimp cocktail. The portions were huge. These fabulous humongous sized shrimp that were juicy plump and just beyond fresh! I had the short ribs over a potato purée and a side of asparagus for my main course. The short ribs were soo soft and soo tender it broke apart like butter (seriously), I joked I could swirl it around my fork like spaghetti. My absolute favorite part was definitely desert! I just love chocolate and the chocolate cake with the side of ice cream with a raspberry and chocolate drizzle was literally to die for. I want to by the whole cake and just go in. It really was sooo good. Truly an amazing meal, a wonderful experience, the music was perfect and the service was on point. Great sized servings - I was full till the very next day lol. Hotel is clean, safe, and has the basics for amenities, staff is courteous when they can actually be found at the front desk. Most of the rooms leave something to be desired as they have one small window in them and a heater/ac unit so loud that it keeps virtually everyone awake. Also, we happened to be at the hotel for a wedding during our stay and the banquet food was awful from start to finish - highlighted by the toughest steak ever eaten. It was so inedible that most of the guests at the wedding sent there's back, and the jokes went on about it through the next morning. All in all, I might look for another hotel option next time. read more

I JUST checked into the Beechwood and I've never in my life written a review so fast. I want to compliment the lovely desk clerk who was helpful and polite upon our arrival. And our room? Our room! Adorable with awesome simple amenities that make a stay even better. From the iPad in the room to the late night snacks, beautifully well-lit bathroom mirror (ladies can attest to how awful they usually are in hotels), wooden shutters to block out the sun, the plush soft towels and the amazing down comforter, this place has it all. I've never actually stayed at the hotel, but I always take my adult kids here for Sunday brunch, and once we had a business symposium. I love this place for Sunday Brunch. Reasonable for what you get. It's always waaaaay too much to eat, but so much fun to try!! The absolute only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 stars is that there really aren't many windows unless you're lucky enough to be seated in a conference room, and even then there's no real view. Of course, the meal would be three times more expensive if it was in a fabulous location besides. read more

The Beechwood is a beautiful boutique hotel that is far above the many chain hotels in Worcester. We stay there several times a year, as my husband has business in the Worcester area. It is one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in, with impeccable bedding and spotless bathrooms. All of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially Yajaira, who is always ready to help with any request. They offer free WIFI and an in-room computer system that offers you access to all hotel amenities, including room service. If you can, reserve a fireplace suite in the winter. It is so cozy and the comfortable sitting area, with sofa & chair with ottoman, makes you feel right at home. The windows have shutters, which block out any light for those who want to sleep in. We always ask for a king sized bed, plus there is also a table with 2 upholstered chairs, flat screen TV, desk and dresser. The rooms are spacious and uniquely shaped because the building is round. Their new Ceres restaurant serves delicious food with emphasis on the organic, plus check out the beautiful and unique bar area. When you stay at the Beechwood you are given vouchers for a free continental breakfast at Ceres. And if you happen to be there on a Sunday, check out the Sunday Brunch - it is outstanding, best brunch in Worcester! It is easy to access Routes 9, 290, and 495, so getting around is no problem. Because it is very near the Shrewsbury line, getting to Boston only takes about 45 minutes (depending on traffic). All in all, you can't go wrong with the Beechwood. Clean, comfortable, a friendly staff and well kept rooms make this a favored destination. read more

I stayed three nights while I was on a business trip. As others have said, the place is exceptionally clean with nice amenities. The big wow for me is the customer service. I asked the the front desk for directions to FedEx Kinkos to copy materials & they offered immediately to do it for me. Service in the bar & restaurant was very good. Had an exceptional bouillabaisse one night in the restaurant. Another night, the orchietti pasta w/broccoli rabe was highly recommended but I found it exceptionally garlicky with too much oil. That was the only flaw in my stay. I strongly recommend the Beechwood! read more

this by far was the most disappointing hotel. It is not full service there is no bellman, no concierge, no shuttle and hotel is old and needs updates. there are many limited service hotels that are far better. Not worth the price for rooms and or food restaurant was near empty food was just ok and price was high. read more

The food was good, although the food at the tasting tasted much better than the food actually served that day. The hotel itself has great guestrooms and the entire hotel is clean. The newly renovated restaurant serves great food. However, I would not recommend this location because of their lack of customer service. Their event staff was difficult from the moment we signed the contract. We went through 3 different representatives of the event staff because they had to hire someone who either left or was fired. We were not even informed that our original staff person was no longer working at the Beechwood and we had to ask about this. Many of the requests we were promised and asked about before we signed the contract we had to fight for days weeks/months later. Simple requests such as the number of people at the head table we had to fight over. Ever request I made was a fight. The Beechwood caused me more stress than any vendor I had. That said the service the day of the wedding was great. We had a fabulous time and everything went smoothly for our guests. I would give it negative stars if I could. My room was not clean. There were stains in the carpet and the bedding. Upon asking at the front desk for them to move me to a cleaner room, I had to wait for them to inspect the old room before they would give me another. I finally did get a different room, only to find bedbug bites on my arm the next morning. 0/5 would burn to the ground. read more
