I was craving Khao Soi again...so stopped in here on my drive back home. This turned out to be more of an eatery...in that you order your foods in line, then they deliver it to your table. The place was a very casual, hole-in-the-wall type place...but the foods seemed really authentic. Although everything was pretty much self-service, the staff was very friendly. So I ordered the Khao Soi w/ Chicken and Shrimp. An expensive noodle dish ($22?), but my bowl was loaded with Shrimp so I didn't mind. While the flavor was good, I found the broth a bit too thick to drink it all in. Thai Iced Tea was good, but a bit skimpy in portion despite its price point. In any case, I got to enjoy this Thai dish again. If I was to return here, I'll probably try something else. read more

We went here based on the reviews were pretty disappointed. We got the drunken noodles with Chicken, and it was meh -- as the kids would say, basic. Really didn't taste like much. We also got the spring rolls and they were pretty good. The best thing I got was the lemonade -- wild color (purple) but very good. I've seen people saying that this is the best Thai food in Asheville. If that's the case, there isn't good Thai food in Asheville. :) Maybe we just got the wrong things. Service was fine. I stopped in with a friend on a Wednesday night and snagged a table easily! We split the chicken drunken noodles, thai basil tofu, and mango sticky rice. We ordered at the counter and everything was brought out to us. The host was super helpful with recommendations and checking allergens! Our entrees came out quickly and were great - loved the crispy fried tofu and huge portions! They also waited to bring out our dessert which was nice. Food and staff was amazing! We ordered shrimp tacos, spring rolls, crab Rangoon, dumplings and Thom Yum Soup. My only critique is that i thought the dipping sauce for the dumplings was a bit too seasame-y. I think it just had a couple too many shakes of sesame oil in it. Me and my husband tried this after seeing it on TikTok as a recommendation for food for our stay in Asheville. We were absolutely blown away by the quality of service and ingredients. I got the drunken noodles without spice (I can't handle spice too well). It has a very nice Smokey flavor to the dish (not overpowering). The spring rolls are absolutely amazing the sweet chili sauce I believe has a base flavor made with honey (very delicious not too sweet or spicy). This place is located just outside of downtown very well lit and friendly staff! I would 10/10 be coming back when in town visiting Asheville!! read more

Yum yum yum. Ashevilles only Thai spot (worth going to) The orders we placed have come to the table wrong both times we dined there so I can't in good conscience say 5 stars. It's also a bit pricy for a counter order. But economy as it is, who's to argue. The inside is just a regular restaurant, Nothing special and nothing bad. It's cozy enough. We truly enjoyed our overall experience at Bee Thai. My boyfriend and I both ordered the drunken noodles with chicken (lunch special) served with wonton soup. Everything came out steaming hot and fresh. You order at the register and the food was brought to our table. We also received complimentary bottles of water. This is a great local spot that has a plethora of vegan options! I can't speak to the ambiance because I've only had takeout (several times) but I can say that the food is always great and the folks that work there are knowledgeable. My only note is that the tofu I've had has never been cooked. I really like tofu in my Thai dishes when it's even a little cooked, but this tofu has been pretty bland and overall raw. Visited Bee Thai with my son this past week. The food was ok, we ordered Pad Thai, Basil Chicken and Pineapple Fried Rice. The bottomline is the food lacked flavor, there was a good balance of veggies and protein but all 3 dishes were just o.k. We also had spring rolls and the mango stick rice both fell in the category of lacking flavor! The service was not bad, it's primarily a self-service type of restaurant which was cool. read more

We chose this place because of its review. What a disappointment. Portions small and the food subpar. The Pad Prik was flavorless with overcooked vegetables in a watery sauce. The Cashew Nut dish was watery and overly swee. The spring rolls were likely from a package that I could buy in any grocery store. They came with a watered down sauce, as did the tiny crab Rangoon. It is an order at the counter type of place. It's really nice that they have deli style to go containers in the restaurant with the water and other utensils. I was skeptical at first having been a regular at this location's previous Thai restaurant which served delicious and authentic Thai food. And I am happy to say that this restaurant's food did not disappoint. They have a pretty diverse menu so there is pretty much something for everyone. I had the Penang Curry and spring rolls which were both outstanding. I liked that they had little bowls of hot pepper sauce which you can add to your dish. The ambiance is pretty much the same as the previous restaurant and the service is excellent! There is still outside seating which was perfect for our dogs.
