Today is Christmas and I am reminded of the poem: "Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse." In our case, that little blessing of no mouse stirring is due to Dan's (the owner) speedy, expert and very reasonably priced work! We had a mouse problem in our kitchen. I checked on Yelp (Bee Smart wasn't listed yet) and I called a competitor. As it turns out that guy was booked and couldn't help me for several days, if not longer. He referred me to Dan. Well, that raised red flags for me. Why would someone refer you off to a good competitor, who happened to be a friend and had no listing? That didn't seem like a good business strategy and other scary things, but I asked a lot of questions and was told that Dan had just started his business though had been in the pest control business for 10 + years working with some of the largest businesses in the metro area - yes, you have heard of them all. I was told that Dan was an expert, and yes, he would hire Dan to come into his home. Well, I was desperate. Dan turned out to be everything I was told, and more. Dan showed up at my house within hours. He did a thorough inspection of the house, identified the mouse access point, set lots and lots of professional grade traps being very sensitive to the traps he used and how he set them so that our cats wouldn't get hurt, suggested a fix to a spider problem we also had (in a very non-pushy way), came back a day later to check on the traps, came back several days later to check on the traps, filled the access hole after the mice were clearly handled, swept away cob webs and sprayed for spiders (yes, we happily added that service on) all for an insanely reasonable price tag. I will use Dan and Bee Smart Pest Control again whenever I have any type of pest issues and strongly recommend anyone do the same. Dan is extremely competent, friendly, courteous, fast, competitively priced, and a real gem. I feel very well taken care of and I have no mouse stirring at my house. Thanks Dan! read more

I really cannot say enough about my experience with Bee Smart. This is the first ever review I have written on yelp and I just knew I had to do it after the service I received from Dan. I called him a few weeks ago about a mouse problem we were having and he took the time over the phone to fully explain the services he offered and how much each level of service would cost. He was out to my house 2 days later where he spent 3 FULL hours inspecting ever crack and crevice of my home. He found numerous entry points where the mice were coming in and was quick to seal up the exterior points that day. We agreed that day that he would set up mouse traps in my house, all out of reach of my precious puppy, and that he would come back 2 days later to reinspect the traps. He not only came back out one time, but another two times after that. Once we concluded we had rid the house of mice Dan worked to seal all the indoor holes. Some of the holes were bigger than others and in certain areas where we wanted the coverings to look more aesthetically pleasing Dan went out to his truck and cut us pieces of wood that would fit the space perfectly. Dan even went so far as to notice we had outside vents that went into our attic that were not covered and he considered this to be a possible problem in the future for pests, so he went out and bought mesh screens and and installed them over both vents. I really cannot express how amazing it was working with Dan. He is the REAL DEAL. He explained everything he was doing and made sure I was ok with all of his decisions every step of the way. Called Dan after finding some droppings in my basement and under the refrigerator. He explained the process he would implement in detail as well as the cost. As someone who is a bit crazy about cleanliness, I was rather freaked out to think there were mice in my home. Dan understood my fear and we set up a quick appointment. He came over, inspected the house and found several entry points in my garage. After sealing those, he went to work inside. As I said I'm fussy, and Dan was very respectful of my house. We discovered that one or more mice had been busy under the kitchen sink, enticed by some dog dental bones that were kept there in a bag. He told me to phone him if I heard any activity whatsoever. There was one industrious, but elusive mouse that was moving the dog bones from under the sink to under the dishwasher. Of course, the mouse was only active on weekends. Even so, Dan came over on several Saturday mornings. Dan regularly checked back with me to learn if I had heard the mouse. When the little guy went quiet, Dan insisted on coming over and collected the remains of the mouse that had been terrorizing me. Dan is very personable, immaculate and uses an extremely logical process that works. So grateful that I chose Bee Smart Pest Control versus other companies who would have dragged out the process by approaching the problem in what I now understand to be rather illogical. We have lived in Colorado for the past 3 years. Over the past 3 years we have had an increasingly problematic run with yellow jackets taking over our house/ yard. We've tried a handful of different pest control companies and had NO success in making a dent in the problem until I called Bee Smart a few weeks ago. Dan (the owner) is amazing. Seriously. He came out for an initial estimate to survey our problem, did the spraying for bees and bugs and even threw a few mouse traps in for free to check and see if we had any active mouse activity. He has since followed up twice with fogging to help kill these crazy wasp nests. I signed up for Yelp just so I could share how good Dan is. More than just spraying, Dan is essentially a house inspector. He figures out where the problem is and ways to treat. For the level of service he provides, his rates are probably the lowest out there. My story below. ---------- For over 6 months, we had small flying insects in only one room on the upper level of our house. They were small enough where they were getting thru the screen and preventing us from opening the window. After 2 different exterminator visits, sending photos to others so I wouldn't have to pay there service charge, and speaking with many other companies who said they could spray but that wouldn't solve the problem, I had Dan come out. He spent maybe two mins in the room and where the flies were. Walked the perimeter of the house and proceeded to share other useful tips for pest control and overall house knowledge. Dan concluded that they could be coming from anywhere and might be using the screen as a resting point since they were attracted to black screens...really then why are they all black! He told me to get them white and it might work. Sure enough, a spray painted screen later and all the flies magically disappeared! I'm not a big fan of spiders. After finding them in the garage and basement I turned to yelp to find an exterminator. I left messages to 3 separate companies and Dan was the first to return my call. He went over his rate and explained the process and chemicals he used. On the day of his appointment, he called to inform me that he was running behind schedule and will be arriving 15 minutes late which I really appreciated because not many companies do that. When he arrived we did a walk through of the exterior of the house and went over potential risks for pest infestation and what he's looking for (overall: no issues except for the spiders) . He was very knowledgeable and thorough with the inspection. He found 2 old wasp nest and one active one, which was removed immediately. Due to the weather forecast, he was not able to do the exterior of the house so he did the interior and stated he'd come back to do the exterior when weather permits. He also went the extra mile and helped repair some things on the exterior of my house, which I wasnt expecting. 2 days later, he texted to let me know that he was at the house and going to spray the exterior. Dan is a well-experienced professional and it shows in his work. We called Dan for a mouse problem we were having. We had just moved into our new home only to find that we had some mice living amongst us. After trying for a few weeks to get rid of the mice on our own, we decided to call in a professional. Dan had great reviews online and he was just as professional and experienced in person. He came out and explained his plan to us and went to work. The second time Dan came out, we were happy to find out through his trapping methods that we no longer had mice activity. That gave us a great piece of mind and on his third visit Dan fixed our garage door, where the mice were entering through, and filled all the mice holes (several) in our garage. Dan is fabulous! I had some critters in one of my walls and a lone mouse in my house, and he was able to trap it, plug two openings through which the mouse had likely traveled, and I have not heard any mice (or any noises at all) in the wall since his first visit. Amazing. Dan is also personable, professional, humorous, and a gentleman. He's honest, full of integrity, conscientious, and hard-working - just the type of small business owner whom we all want to support. My wife and I recently got married and purchased a new home. Prior to leaving on our honeymoon, we bought a set of couches to put in our living room. Upon return, we noticed mouse droppings and, when I lifted one of the couch cushions, I found a nest full of baby mice! Turns out a mouse was delivered with the couch. I called Dan and he went above and beyond to make time to come help us out. He was able to move around other appointments so he could fit us into his busy schedule and take care of our situation. Dan's great. It helps that he reminds me of a friend I already had. He double checked on his service to make sure he had gotten rid of the nests and spiders that had collected around our front porch. We also had netting installed to prevent birds from nesting in our eaves. He is great with kids too! My son's a fan...on the first meeting for the estimate, he had stickers for him to occupy him while we surveyed what needed to get done around the outside. He even came out to take care of some conical nest (wasp?) that had begun to be built while he was supposed to be on VACATION. Justin was fantastic! We were able to schedule an appointment just a few days after requesting service, and Justin arrived early to the appointment. He quickly looked at our yellowjacket problem (which, turned out, was a small yellowjacket problem), and in the process found a few holes into the house. He put some stainless steel and foam to fill the holes and prevent future bugs and critters from getting in our crawl space. As he worked, we talked about some other issues we had - spiders, and ear wigs. He sprayed for spiders and put down granules for the ear wigs. Fantastic service, super knowledgeable, and never pushy. After a terrible experience with Armor Pest Defense I had Bee Smart come take a look at a problem I have with 100s of yellow jackets that are making galls in our young oak tree. He was on time, very professional and told me that the best thing to do is to wait until the early spring. He did not charge me, didn't try to sell me some other treatment or annual service, or try to say he could treat my house for a long list of other bugs I currently don't care about. I can't review his work but his customer service and sales tactics are great. I will be calling Bee Smart next spring for sure. read more

I am extremely satisfied with the work that Dan did at our home. We called him out because we were having some serious problems with wasps throughout our property. When I suspected a rodent problem within my home, I called Dan (based on others' reviews) and left a message. He promptly returned my call and set up an appointment convenient with my schedule. He arrived early and did a thorough inspection. He's professional, courteous and very informative. He baited traps and strategically placed them in key areas. Instead of just coming out and making our house "glow" with poison he assessed our situation and then educated us on the pros and cons of all options as well as helping us understand the possible causes of the increased activity. Squirrel was building a nest in our roof pulling out insulation, a mess. Dan took care of it with a one-way door cage, etc. Great local business with prompt communication, professional service, hometown helpfulness. More than just animal and insect control, he has the tools and skills of a handyman so was able to patch the roof to prevent future problems.
