Very nice park. Really big! Nice jogging trails, basketball court, restrooms on-site, benches. Dog park is across the street. You can either enter that way or follow the paved path under the bridge to the dog area. Dog park is a really nice size with a "pond" in the center that is currently a muddy mess. ??? Self-filling water bowls on-site. Nice pavilion with bench. Very easy to get to. RIGHT off 620. Overall, I like this park a tad better than Lakeway, but I don't really see other dogs here. :( Maybe more in the spring? So, pros and cons.

This dog park is pretty good. Lots of space for even 20 dogs and their people. There's a creek that is usually dry, but if it's rained recently plan ahead for a muddy pup. There's a footpath around the entirety of the park. Poo pickup is pretty consistent around the path and in areas without ground foliage. There is a shaded awning with benches, a watering and hose station, and a shady area with trees along the footpath, so lots of protection from the sun. There's a small dog park too, which is pretty much all in the shade. Most dogs and owners I've encountered have been friendly, and in the few instances of fights the owners have been very responsive. There was one instance of a serial humper (tan poodle or labradoodle) with an owner who was pretty indifferent, but I've only seen them there the one time.

The new park location is awesome. Both big dog and little dog parks allow for fun safe play. Lots of donated tennis balls and other toys here, shade, benches and hills. Come play and have a good time with your four legged friend!!

We love the new dog park!! There is a lot of space for the dogs to run around, tennis balls to play with, and great friends! There's a smaller fenced off area for smaller dogs right next the larger park. Bring a towel if it recently rained though, there's a stream that runs through it, and dogs love to get muddy!

Is there a separate small dog section? My little dude has been attacked multiple times by big dogs so now he's very scared of being around the big dudes.?

It always has at least 2-3 dogs for my dog to play with, there is a covered area for shade and they have water available for the dogs.

My dad and mum take me here when we are in town and this is my favorite place to run around. Even though I'm just a pup, the grownup doggies teach me new things like how to play chase, sniff and aimlessly run around. I haven't totally braved the water park just yet, but watching the retrievers jump in and fetch has started to build my interest. I did get in the pool up to my chest and got dirty enough to need a bath, but not fully committed to jump in yet. I think if I play it wisely, I'll milk it for all it's worth and probably will get a few more trips in before I take the plunge. Luckily, the park has multiple wash stations on the way in/out, so my humans can clean me up nicely before our ride home. Not my favorite thing to do, but since it's a doggie dog world, I have to live by their rules. Now that I'm 7 months old and weigh 30 pounds, I can play in the large dog area which is much more fun for me. When I was under 30 pounds, I used the small dog area which is overall a bit smaller in size, and the grass is a bit "ruff", so not as much fun. Also too many yapping pups there for my taste. So if you have the zoomies and are in the area, come by and say hi, or come play with me as I'm looking for new friends all the time. I'll be the black /white pup with the one blue eye, the Australian accent and hanging out next to the pool.

I will say that, but it's totally worth it. If you have to wait a bit to get a spot it's a small loop and when you get to the end of the trail on the other side, there's gorgeous trees in the most beautiful view that I think some of Austin's trails have to offer. They also have a couple stands with poop bags and it is an off-leash dog park so keep that in mind but since it also is kind of like a trail they walk around and they follow their owners mostly and then in between some areas, the dogs play and some of them even jump into the water and stuff, but I wouldn't really recommend that because the water isn't super super clean but overall just such a good spot to take your furry friend or just to go take a walk in the morning or afternoon!

Entry was a very fairly priced $5 per person. We were given a map, which if I'm being honest, helped guide us to the parking but didn't offer quite as much help later with the trails, LOL. Really they need some better signage up for the trails. More than half the time we weren't sure which trail we were on or if we were even on a trail that was marked on the map... Good thing the park ranger told us we were "free to explore!" Some of their plaques with information on them could use replacing too, as sun or weather damage has made them fairly illegible. (I'm one of those weirdos that actually likes to stop and read those things, haha. I especially enjoyed the one that had the history of the Reimers family on it.) Seemed to be plenty of parking, all paved too. There was a really nice station at the first parking lot with indoor plumbed bathrooms, a shady overhang, picnic tables, and water fountain (it even tasted pretty good!). The trail that runs along and overlooks the river is probably the "main event" for most visitors to this park, however it is also somewhere you can get adventurous with rock climbing, mountain biking, and riding on horseback. Pretty neat! There were also trails that led all the way down to the river, where you were permitted to swim and/or fish. Hooray for somewhere you can do unattended swimming! Sometimes that's a rarity, so I appreciate you can get in, splash around, and cool off here. =) My partner and I really only explored about half of the trails available at this park, so we may have to come back again sometime to do the rest. The big loop looked to have some good elevation changes and scenery that most parks near Austin are mostly flat or boring hills.

I was immediately taken by the blue-green water, so clear that you could see dozens of catfish living their best life right underneath the surface. Outlined by a limstone canyon, I felt like I was an extra in a movie. I'm not someone who usually swims when the weather is any less than 90 degrees, but the lagoon was so beautiful I could not resist jumping in. The water was cool and refreshing -- and I'm sure there are some types of health benefits from all of the natural sediment in the water (at least that is what I told myself). Things to note: - Bring cash to park - Bathrooms are clean, use before getting on the trail - There is a short hike from the parking lot to the grotto. It was a little challenging but my three-year old did it in a pair of crocs with no problem. - Bring towels, a small blanket to sit on, and snacks - No lifeguard, but there is a really friendly ranger who is happy to tell you about the history of the area and answer any questions - In the past several years they have had to close down certain parts of the grotto due to falling limestone. There is also no waterfall due to lack of rain. Be nice to the planet, climate change is real. Hope this area will be around for my children to enjoy in the future.
