I am so thankful for Catherine D's review of this place. I would never have found this place since it is not listed under any of the city parks and it does not even have a sign or parking lot. But sure enough there are open fields with some unimproved trails at the address listed.
If you turn left on Idalia it dead ends at the park. Since there is no parking lot I felt like I was trespassing, but since there were no posted signs other than NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES I figured it was OK.
I am quite sure this greenbelt is not officially off leash. But, since Catherine N. let her dogs off leash so did I. The pup and I had already gone for a run at Lady Bird Lake and it was getting hot so we did not fully explore. Since, this is close to where I live I will definitely be back soon to explore more and possibly up the stars.
So, why not more stars for a place close to home that my pup can run free. Well I will tell you it is just not that beautiful, no canopy of trees to keep the sun off me, no water for the Pup to swim in and dog crap every where. Sheesh people I can understand not wanting to climb into the bushes to pick up your dogs poop but when it is right in the middle of the trail pick it up damn it. read more
