Pease Park is one of Austin's most beautiful parks. Full stop! It has been thoughtfully designed and enjoyable green space to frequent. Stretching along Shoal Creek, the park offers a mix of shaded walking and biking trails, open lawns, and beautifully restored natural areas. It is hard to believe when you are in the park that you are in the heart of central Austin. The park is especially family friendly, with a large playground, splash pad, treehouse style observation area, and plenty of seating. While we were at the park a school was hosting a picnic for its students. The northern portion of the park is even more quiet and scenic, with winding trails, limestone bluffs, and creek views. It's a great area for dog walks, leisurely strolls, picnics, workouts, or just relaxing under the trees. The park is well maintained and welcoming to all ages. This park is very special. read more

Such a gem of a park. Big, beautiful, and genuinely fun for all ages. The giant troll made from natural and recycled materials alone is worth the visit -- it's impressive and so unique. The stream nearby adds a peaceful touch, and the overall design of the park feels really intentional and creative. Kids will go crazy for the massive playground and all the interactive installations. The hanging net sphere is a must, you can lie inside and bounce around, and honestly the adults were just as into it as the little ones. There are also food vendors including ice cream, so you can easily spend a whole afternoon here. One of the most well-done parks I've been to. Highly recommend. read more

Balancing nature and a clean, safe, carefully curated place for kids to play, this park is absolutely exemplary. There's a small parking lot and plenty of space for all your outdoor activities; hiking trails, swing sets, basketball courts, a dog park, gardens, art, and general green spaces to run around and fly a kite or throw a Frisbee. Clean bathrooms are truly a gift for anyone making a full day of it. I believe there are food trucks but you have to time it right, because none were there when I visited. If you only do one thing, you must hang out in the tree house. It's an incredibly cool communal hammock out in the forest. It's so relaxing and there's truly nothing else like it. read more

What a lovely park! Nice walking trail (stroller-friendly, runs along creek, starts at playground). Cute little rustic playground with wood structures and a variety of swings. Fun treehouse with webbing you can walk and sit on. Scared me a little bit, haha, but I'm sure it's secure and can support a lot of weight. Can't forget the troll. Love me a good troll installation. Keep following the creek trail past the playground and you'll find him. Nice bathrooms too. Clean, with multiple stalls. Saw a couple food/drink trucks. They do various events here too, I believe. Parking is a pain. This is an old park so there's just a tiny adjacent lot. You have to hunt for nearby street parking. I did notice large signs with QR codes for nearby parking lots offering spaces (not sure how far they are though). read more

Well maintained park near downtown Austin. Walking trail follow along Shoal creek but it is dry right now. This park has basketball court, a Troll statue, plenty of green grass, splash pad for the kids, and a full public bathroom with a water dispenser.. This is a really nice park that's tucked along a creek with lovely shaded trails that wind through the trees and lots of open green space. We walked the trails for a while and my dog really enjoyed it. The paths follow the natural ground so you'll be going up and down little hills and it's definitely not a level paved easy walk but it is enjoyable with the sounds of the water and the lovely surroundings. You can definitely get your heart rate up. We passed lots of other people walking and running the trails and lots of other dogs. There are also art installations and things to see scattered throughout the park. It's fun to come upon something unexpected and beautiful and you could definitely spend hours exploring this park. The only downside for me was that parking isn't the easiest or the most convenient. It fills up fast and people seem to be parking in places that they shouldn't be, or partially blocking the roads. Once you're in the park, it's very nice but it's a bit of a headache to find a place to stop. It's definitely a park worth checking out and I would happily come back again. read more

This park has so much to offer the public. I definitely need to come more often. There is a cool "treehouse" where you can go up and lay on the net. I just saw it from the outside. The troll is also a cool sight to see. There was a food truck parked by the entrance of Kingsbury Commons. There was also what appeared to be a coffee truck inside the park but it looked closed. I took a dog there and she really enjoyed walking around. It gets super hot so bring lots of water for you and your pup. If you go north in the park, they have volleyball courts and off-leash dog areas. Since it was midday on a Friday went I visited, I found parking easily. However, I've been there on a weekend and it was really rough to find a spot nearby. Check their website for parking tips. read more

A stunning park with great public art, trails and amenities for all! While visiting Austin I knew I wanted to see the Malin Troll but I was pleasantly surprised by what Pease Park offers in its entirety! First of all, the troll, a large, wooden sculpture, is incredible! And so worth seeing. Pease also has an awesome treehouse observation pod. Climbing to the pod by ramp, folks can sit, walk or lay on a rope bottom, enjoying the sun and sounds of wildlife. The park also has great dirt and concrete trails, amenities like rentable sporting equipment, bathrooms and a coffee food truck! Parking is quite difficult here as the majority of it is street parking, from what I could tell. I had to drive around for a bit before finding a spot on the street I could actually park on. read more

I love Pease Park. It's an Austin staple. I hadn't visited since the tree house and troll were added, so it was fun to check both of them out. The tree house has an observation rope canopy people can lay on. The troll is huge and fun to see. There's also a trail, a playground, and plenty of picnic tables. Parking nearby can be a little tough, especially when they close down the little lot due to private events. We went on a birthday "hike" at pease park recently and there's so much they have to offer. Hike level I would say easy to moderate. There are some sections where you have to make you own path to get back on track or across in some areas but I like coming here when I'm the area. The large hammock like structure , the troll, lots of picnic tables , play scape, open field, splash pad , actual restrooms with working sinks and toilet paper. The path was easy but due to a landslide some of it was blocked off. There different sections of the path to take , I enjoy the side further north away from the park as it is more peaceful and allows you to enjoy nature a little more. Good scenery and plenty of native plants along the way. read more

One of the most beautiful and well maintained parks I have ever been to. There were so many fun features for kids and adults to enjoy, parking was busy but we were able to find a spot on the street. There are signs starting not to leave your valuables, and even a numbered sign stating days without break-ins so be careful! This would be the perfect park for a quick walk, jog, picnic, or to bring kids to as they had several play areas and food stands along the walking path. read more

Such a beautiful park and even more fun now that they added Malin the troll by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. It truly gives the park more magic. Sprinkled throughout the park are food trucks, a taco food truck at the entrance, in the middle is snow cone food truck, and a coffee cart almost adjacent to it. There are walking trails and splash pad area for the kids. There are also little things along the trail to admire aside from Malin. My only complaint is the very limited parking, it can get full in the weekends. read more

This park is a really lovely park. There are several walking paths some paved and some gravel. There was a giant round jumping net for kids, a giant wooden troll and a stream running alongside it. There's a nice playground for kids and has bathrooms nearby. There are a few food trucks for treats too. The only real issue is the parking. Cars have been broken into. We got a spot and behind it was a pile of shattered car glass. There was a sign saying it's been 4 days since the last break in. I have to wonder how many signs they have for this to be updated regularly. read more

Truly what a gem of a park. We came here to find the Thomas Dambo troll and ended up really loving this park. There was so much to do and my kid had fun trying to find the troll and then the entire play area was really nice. Parking was fairly easy and it had been four days since a break in according to the sign when we parked. Yay. read more

This park has been around a very long time( since 1875-a mere 36 years after Austin was established in 1839). It is the setting for the famous Eeyore party. If you don't know what that is, think "crazy" fun- drum circles, scantly clad people, lots of music,etc. Not a kid's party. I love the trails throughout the park. You can follow them right into DT. Lots of cool stuff for kids here. Great information on all the trees found in the park as well. I also enjoyed a taco from the taco truck regularly here- delicious! The only big bummer is car break ins are very common. So leave nothing in your car or you may be rolling the dice. read more

Free parking but weary as there's a countdown board of last days of car break in (current 2 days on the board when we came tonight) lit areas, basketball court is well lit and being used by young adults. The Malin Troll Sculpture, was definitely the main reason for my visit to this park. However the park has so many more great things. The massive treehouse sculpture was also really cool. Lots of good walking or running trails. Also great for families and the park is dog friendly. Would also be a great spot to have a picnic! Restrooms were clean. I used to live at 34th and Lamar, so spent many years jogging the Pease Park trails. This is my favorite park in Austin. There was recently an update to the park so there are new bathrooms, splash pads, fresh trails, and more. I love the Malin troll sculpture. The artist is amazing and I plan to visit a few more trolls in the future if I'm in Atlanta, Colorado, Washington, etc. We e find family friendly 5ks here and Austin Youth Fitness meets here for several of their bike classes. You can create a train of kid bikers and go on an urban ride from the park to Trader Jo's and back. We always park in the skate park lot across the street if we can't find street parking. There's a secret tunnel you can take that goes under Lamar blvd. Like the Central Library, and Barton Springs, Pease Park is one of Austin's treasures. read more

It's difficult to describe just HOW MUCH FUN I had at Pease Park with my friends the other night. We were there rather late (around 8pm), which meant the park grounds weren't very occupied. This was great for a bunch of rambunctious adults (with active inner children), as we could play on the incredible play structure to our hearts' content! There's a swing set, a unique upside-down teeter-totter, a climbable net and log structure, a barrel to crawl through, and some basketball hoops! The trail is also enjoyable, well-maintained and visible. Numerous legible signs along the way make it super easy to track where you're at in the park and where you're going. There are exercise equipment/challenges at various checkpoints along the way if you want to work out in nature. If you pick your path right, you'll happen across the wooden troll sculpture, which rises probably some twenty or more feet into the air. Really great photo op, especially for groups! Hands-down the BEST part of this park though is the netted spherical sculpture? I'm not sure how to best describe it; you kind of have to see it for yourself, and trust me, you'll want to! If you walk up the ramp behind the toilets, it'll take you to the entry point in the middle of the sphere, which has a huge net secured all the way across. You can climb out onto the netting to relax and stare up at the stars above, or you can do what we did and play Duck, Duck, Goose. (Of course there were teenagers passing a joint around when we first arrived, but they were respectful and cleared out.) The bathrooms are honestly pretty upscale/modern (gender segregated, unfortunately-- no all-gender or gender-neutral options). There's a frankly massive patio-type area with loads of picnic tables (a food truck likes to hang out nearby, understandably) that can accommodate probably up to 100 people if I had to guess. I bet it's popular for parties. There is parking to either side as well as along the wide residential street leading up to the park-- though signs will warn you to bring your valuables and lock your vehicle to prevent theft attempts. The area felt really safe, so I'm surprised the signage was quite so strong, but maybe that itself helps reduce potential crime problems. I'm going to make it a priority to come back sometime during the day so I can get more cute pictures all dressed up in my fox costume! read more

We come here every so often to walk our dogs or bring people from out of town. It's wonderful for both! Nice loop and connecting trails for the dogs. Interesting things to see for guests, like the big sphere and the troll. Both have gotten a lot of interest from various people we've brought, and we love them too! Also it's location in the city means you can go make a day of it and do other fun stuff while you're at it! Absolutely recommend spending some time here if you're in Austin! read more

A beautiful park! Parking can be rough, I had to park half a mile to get there but I don't regret it! A lot of activities you can easily get into whether it's a game of basket ball, laying in the grass, or throwing some frisbee, it truly is a good time. Although the photos of this spot show art and view worthy art, it's very basic and you shouldn't go out of your way to explore, but if you're in town and would like to take a nice little walk this is definitely the space for it read more

This was a beautiful park! We visited for the trampoline looking structure & the troll A lot of space on the grass to play some volllyball & they have bathrooms and a playground for the kids. Long picnics tables as well so you can bring food & dog friendly. Unfortunately the trampoline structure is down for maintenance as of 03.18.25 so I was super bummed since we were only here for a couple of days. Still a great place to visit! Definitely heck out the site for parking information as it is limited. read more

Pease-ful Park! I absolutely enjoyed this park! It's an urban oasis with hiking trails, a splash pad, basketball courts, a troll, bathrooms- it's got it all! It's one of the older parks in the state, established in 1875. There's a stone monument memorializing this date. The park is well-kept with nice landscaping, cool features. It felt safe, as there were lots of families strolling about. It was easy for hiking with dedicated concrete trails that take you over the creek that runs through the park. The splash pad was full of kids- a free spot with shade and some sun and water spritzing out of water features and children screaming with delight. Parking is easy with a dedicated lot. There's helpful sign that reminds you not to leave your valuables out- "4 days since the last break-in!" My stuff didn't get jacked! Woot! There are clean restrooms and water fountains. This is what a park is supposed to look like! This park is located just to the west of the University of Texas campus, within a little hike to the Drag. read more
