This is a really nice park that's tucked along a creek with lovely shaded trails that wind through the trees and lots of open green space. We walked the trails for a while and my dog really enjoyed it. The paths follow the natural ground so you'll be going up and down little hills and it's definitely not a level paved easy walk but it is enjoyable with the sounds of the water and the lovely surroundings. You can definitely get your heart rate up. We passed lots of other people walking and running the trails and lots of other dogs. There are also art installations and things to see scattered throughout the park. It's fun to come upon something unexpected and beautiful and you could definitely spend hours exploring this park. The only downside for me was that parking isn't the easiest or the most convenient. It fills up fast and people seem to be parking in places that they shouldn't be, or partially blocking the roads. Once you're in the park, it's very nice but it's a bit of a headache to find a place to stop. It's definitely a park worth checking out and I would happily come back again.

Check out this spot.

What a great park! There are bathrooms, places to gather for a party, places to play, and nice paths to walk along. Plus easy parking! I like the big pieces of art, too.

Well maintained park near downtown Austin. Walking trail follow along Shoal creek but it is dry right now. This park has basketball court, a Troll statue, plenty of green grass, splash pad for the kids, and a full public bathroom with a water dispenser.. Main attraction is probably nature and the circular tree house pod that overlook the whole park. Watch out for car break in. There is warning sign about it

This park has so much to offer the public. I definitely need to come more often. There is a cool "treehouse" where you can go up and lay on the net. I just saw it from the outside. The troll is also a cool sight to see. There was a food truck parked by the entrance of Kingsbury Commons. There was also what appeared to be a coffee truck inside the park but it looked closed. I took a dog there and she really enjoyed walking around. It gets super hot so bring lots of water for you and your pup. If you go north in the park, they have volleyball courts and off-leash dog areas. Since it was midday on a Friday went I visited, I found parking easily. However, I've been there on a weekend and it was really rough to find a spot nearby. Check their website for parking tips.

Heck yeah!! This is the best biden secret park!! So much to do here!! Water spray, picnic tables, grass, trails, playground, large bathroom areas. I left the last 2 things the Thomas Dambo art and the TREEhouse!!! Check out my pictures. The parking isn't ideal but doable.

A stunning park with great public art, trails and amenities for all! While visiting Austin I knew I wanted to see the Malin Troll but I was pleasantly surprised by what Pease Park offers in its entirety! First of all, the troll, a large, wooden sculpture, is incredible! And so worth seeing. Pease also has an awesome treehouse observation pod. Climbing to the pod by ramp, folks can sit, walk or lay on a rope bottom, enjoying the sun and sounds of wildlife. The park also has great dirt and concrete trails, amenities like rentable sporting equipment, bathrooms and a coffee food truck! Parking is quite difficult here as the majority of it is street parking, from what I could tell. I had to drive around for a bit before finding a spot on the street I could actually park on.

I love Pease Park. It's an Austin staple. I hadn't visited since the tree house and troll were added, so it was fun to check both of them out. The tree house has an observation rope canopy people can lay on. The troll is huge and fun to see. There's also a trail, a playground, and plenty of picnic tables. Parking nearby can be a little tough, especially when they close down the little lot due to private events. There are some surrounding parking garage they were advertising parking for nearby.

Great park to walk around and relax. There are a few trails, playgrounds, a coffee truck, and more. It's peaceful, green, and perfect for unwinding. I especially loved the treehouse--definitely recommend laying on the net for a unique and calming experience.

We went on a birthday "hike" at pease park recently and there's so much they have to offer. Hike level I would say easy to moderate. There are some sections where you have to make you own path to get back on track or across in some areas but I like coming here when I'm the area. The large hammock like structure , the troll, lots of picnic tables , play scape, open field, splash pad , actual restrooms with working sinks and toilet paper. The path was easy but due to a landslide some of it was blocked off. There different sections of the path to take , I enjoy the side further north away from the park as it is more peaceful and allows you to enjoy nature a little more. Good scenery and plenty of native plants along the way.

One of the most beautiful and well maintained parks I have ever been to. There were so many fun features for kids and adults to enjoy, parking was busy but we were able to find a spot on the street. There are signs starting not to leave your valuables, and even a numbered sign stating days without break-ins so be careful! This would be the perfect park for a quick walk, jog, picnic, or to bring kids to as they had several play areas and food stands along the walking path.

Another one of my favorite places. Our latest visit just a couple of weeks ago was the first time for our recently rescued fur guy called Benji. He absolutely loved Malin the troll! You can't beat that iconic sculpture, the treehouse, or the beautiful hiking trails for a perfect Sunday Funday.

A beautiful park with fun for all ages including a playground for kids, basketball court, plenty of open space and a unique treehouse. One of our favorites close to downtown. Deep into the wood resides Malin, the Austin troll, just chilling in the serenity. Go pay her a visit, if you haven't already :D

Such a beautiful park and even more fun now that they added Malin the troll by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. It truly gives the park more magic. Sprinkled throughout the park are food trucks, a taco food truck at the entrance, in the middle is snow cone food truck, and a coffee cart almost adjacent to it. There are walking trails and splash pad area for the kids. There are also little things along the trail to admire aside from Malin. My only complaint is the very limited parking, it can get full in the weekends.

Cute little park with families and dog walkers. My husband and I felt very relaxed, and the trees offer plenty of shade.

Nice park in the middle of Austin. My son and I went to kill some time and talk. Parking is a little rough, but it always is in Austin.

However, after our time there we can confidently say it's one of the best ways you can spend a few bucks here in Austin. The park itself is in a bit more of a secluded area which is nice because you truly do feel away from things. As a heads up when paying at the entrance they only take card. If you're looking to use tap to pay or cash you have to go inside in order to make that payment. The visitors center is nice though with very helpful park rangers as well as merch, drinks, and maps for you to use. Once you drive to the upper falls parking it's just a short 5 minute walk over to the swimming hole. The walk is cool as you traverse over what looks and feels like moon rock. We chose the upper falls instead of the lower falls because we heard the water here is deeper and there are less kids around. It was definitely the right choice as the water was perfect for a hot day and parts of the swimming hole are definitely 10+ feet in depth. There are a lot of places around to set up blankets and there's multiple rock formations jutting out of the water in case you need a quick break once you're in the water. The coolest part of the swimming hole is the jump you can make off the rock ledge. It's about a 15-20 foot jump and people line up in order to get there. There's also some wildlife around the pool which is cool to see. As a note, they don't allow radios or drinking and everyone was pretty respectful of that. Whether you're a young group of friends looking for a nice swim getaway or a family looking for somewhere to unwind, McKinney State Falls is a great option to beat the heat. Just make sure to layer on some sunscreen.

For those seeking a bit more of a challenge, crossing the river takes more thought to avoid getting your feet wet. I've usually found there are 2-3 paths at the river crossing, being careful not to slip on any rocks. The homestead beyond the crossing can be observed and appreciated, but it's off-limits to help preserve what's left. The backcountry trails total about 6 miles and it's usually just the right length for me to get a solid hike in. There is very little elevation change, though there can be a lot of mosquitos during the warmer months. I didn't find any benches to rest at and there is no water source to refill water bottles. Given that McKinney Falls is within Austin's city limits makes this state park a gem. There is also a large day-use area near the campgrounds with about 100 picnic tables and charcoal grills the last time I counted a few years ago. Parking is plenty and the rangers are friendly. Definitely either get there early or make online reservations to reserve a time slot to enter as the park can fill up fast over weekends or holidays. Their gift shop also has a variety of items for sale, and you can get a park passport stamp there too!
