This was such a beautiful location! We parked at the corner of Camp Craft Road and Scottish Woods Trail, and it was about a 25-30 minute hike to Sculpture Falls. It was so rewarding. There were ppl jumping off the cliffs and there were turtles and fish! Lovely spot! Warning: there was a sign that mentioned that there was a toxic algae in the water. I wouldnt recommend swimming in the creek the leads up to the Falls, but once you get to the falls, it's clear water!!

    No water in October

The trails aren't very well defined and I'm embarrassed to admit I've gotten lost or disoriented several times. There are some picturesque spots in the hike from the trailhead (where 360 meets MoPac) to the Sculpture "Falls". Keep in mind that there is no water and no waterfall if you don't go at the right time of year. When is the right time of year? Not entirely sure. Not August through October at least.

Very fun place. Put this address in to find the entrance: 1706 Camp Craft Rd Austin, TX 78746 United States Read the reviews for where to park that's easiest access to sculpture Falls. It will be back in a residential neighborhood but if it's a nice day you'll start to see lots of cars and you'll see a sign for the entrance to the park. Hint: once you're on the trail and you see a very large path (10ft wide) to the right with a gorgeous view of trees-THAT IS THE TRAIL. Do not continue straight on a narrow path, it is not the path LOL. Unless you like climbing through very steep woods. You will eventually make it to the main path again, but you'll want good hiking shoes to go the narrow path. We learned this is hard-way. If it any point you have to wonder "is this the trail?" Then it's not the trail. The trail to sculpture falls is clearly a trail. Bring your bathing suit if it's a nice day- you'll want to

Nice place to hike but if you're a newbie at hiking it can get a bit rough heading back because of the steep incline at the entrance to the trail. There are so many adorable dogs though!! Highly recommend bringing water shoes, swimming wear, towels, drinks/lots of water. Watch out for snakes near the swimming area too, we saw a few. Other than that, a really enjoyable place!

There is water, you have to hike about 2-3 miles to get to it. I recommend wear tennis shoes and switching into chanclas.

We got there early before they turned the water on so it was completely dry. *** Note all the broken glass in the parking lot there a lot of breaking there ****

We really enjoyed walking through the snow during our hike. There were a few spots that smelled like pine...amazing experience!!

This is my favorite place to hike. Making it to sculpture falls always feels like an accomplishment and the cool water is perfectly refreshing after the hike. I also love that people here seem to be very friendly and there's usually dogs which, let's be real, always makes everything better. If I could give this place 4.5 stars I would. My only complaints are that there are no trash cans along the trails, so if you bring your pup you may have to carry poop bags for the remainder of the hike. With that being said, so many people don't clean up after their dogs or leave the poop bags along the trail. It's gross and takes away from the experience. Also, some people take their dogs off-leash, which makes me a little nervous, but I haven't had a bad experience with a dog yet.

Based on the number of reviews so far, a.k.a one, this doesn't sound like a well-known area. I didn't know about this place either, but being relatively far away from civilization, this green belt has a lot going for it. Note that this is the Twin Falls side of Mopac. I came with a group of coworkers for volunteering with Keep Austin Beautiful. Our job is mainly to walk up and down the trails and pick up trash, separating the waste from the recyclables. It had just poured rain the night before, so the weather was excellent with plenty of shade from the trees, but the trails were a bit muddy. Parking is pretty plentiful as well. If you're not sure where the entrance is, go to google maps and search for 'Sculpture Falls Parking'. This trail is one of the most nature-y greenbelts I've been to in Austin. There are obvious paths, but none of it is paved. Although the trail is relatively narrow, it's pretty good for walking, biking, walking your dogs, and swimming. What, swimming?? Yes! Bring your swim trunks and/or tubes cause the river is flowing and feels great! I didn't exactly jump in since I'm on the job, but I did dip my feet in. A lot of people and their dogs were hanging in the water and it looks super fun. The envy is real. One downside of being so immersed in nature is that the muddy trails make navigation pretty difficult in several areas. But if you're adventurous enough, you'll get a big dose of rushing waters, large fields of wildflowers, and the wildlife. Bring insect repellent and watch for snakes! Oh by the way, no portable toilets here, so use the restroom before coming or prepare to hold it! If you have an afternoon to kill, come down to this greenbelt. No matter how much time you have on your hands, you won't be able to get through it all. The main trail has a lot of mini paths branching off of it as well. I'll definitely stop by for a second visit, this time sans large trash bags.

It was quite lovely, we hiked the trail but once we got to the creek area it was dry. My kids loved it, there is an easy path and also another path with a bunch of rocks. Lol don't let that discourage you, yes they are pretty slippery when wet but it was fun climbing the rocks. We took the rocky path to the creek and the easy flat path back up. I would love to visit again once the water returns.

    The falls with water.

Sculpture Falls Hike at Barton Creek is a 3 mile, out and back, hike on a green belt in Austin. The entrance is off the Mopac frontage road just south of the Cap of TX 360 intersection. You want to be on the frontage road going south just after 360. You will see parking to your right. The entrance to the greenbelt is visible. The trail is easy (not strenuous) for hiking and bikers often use the trail as well. The trail is mostly shaded. The trees are cool. The waterfall is right by the trail. You won't miss it and it's very distinct! In the spring there is water in the creek so bring your swimsuit when you arrive at the falls. The rest of the seasons there's really no water to swim in. Dogs are welcome, but are supposed to be leashed. Bring water. No bathroom facilities so know that before you start out.

What a natural sanctuary. Even though during our visit we didn't have much water due to lack of rain it was beautiful. Definitely worth the 30 min hike to and from the falls.

The trail winds through dense vegetation with a mix of wooden steps, rocky pathways, and shaded stretches. One of the biggest attractions is the seemingly endless staircase sections. Looking up from the bottom, those steps appear to climb straight into the heavens. I was mentally preparing myself for the challenge when I spotted a sign that changed everything: "Beware of Snakes.
