Whereas the broccoli florets and grain rice were perfectly cooked and filling. I may try out the Balanced or Keto version at some point. 3. Low Carb - Chicken Tenders (2pcs) Plate served w/a chipotle sauce, roasted Brussel sprouts and cauliflower rice. The chicken tenders were hearty w/a little bit of heat to them. The chipotle sauce was too spicy for me. The roasted Brussel sprouts were a bit al-dente, but I still dig it. The cauliflower rice was also tasty, a little bit of heated kick (still edible). 4. Low Carb - Chicken and Cauliflower Rice. My last and simplest meal for the week, which was tender, moist and flavorful. Overall, I highly recommend Muscle Up Meals. I had tried 3 or 4 other food services several years ago and each had their issues/drawbacks (one in particular was very problematic). Once I tried Z.E.N., I've never looked back. The food is fresh, healthy, and for the most part truly delicious! (which was not the case with some of the other services I used). The other great thing is that the menu is entirely customizable: they have their specials of the day for each meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner -- plus snacks and dessert if you go with that particular plan). But if a daily special doesn't appeal to you when you check the weekly menu in your online portal, there is an array of other choices you can make to substitute -- usually several to a dozen or so. I'm kind of a picky eater so I typically wind up substituting 1/3rd to half of the selections, depending. You are also allowed 3 "dislikes" that they will automatically substitute if in their daily specials. Anyway, the customer service is great and the drivers discreet. It may depend on location, but I typically receive my daily delivery between 5pm-7pm every day (meals for the next day). The food is in a zip-tie sealed container for safety, and on several ice packs to stay fresh if you aren't home or otherwise unable to retrieve it immediately; they leave it in the safe spot on my porch where I've indicated. The other thing that's customizable is the delivery schedule: I'm in and out of town a bit, so I month's worth of food deliveries might last 2 or 3 months depending on how I need to space it out (e.g., I typically don't have food delivered on weekends, or if I'm away for a week or two I just put the service on pause for those days -- again, all super easy to adjust in the online portal). And yes, every time I use the service I do lose a few pounds. Highest marks from me, I can't recommend it more highly for anyone who either wants to lose weight, take a break from cooking, or simply want to reset and eat more healthy. The pricing seems fair to me, especially since I'm not spending nearly as much at the grocery store while I'm on the plan.

After taking some time I decided to order the special wagyu beef entree, and a spicy tuna hand roll. I sat down in one of the chairs available and waited. I could smell great aromas from the food being prepared in the kitchen. I was happy when my food arrived about 15 minutes later. I could sense his pride in what he had prepared for me. I enjoyed the complete dinner that was the wagyu beef entree. There was rice, pickled cucumber, California roll sushi, a special piece of fried chicken, and chicken gyoza. It came in a perfectly packed & arranged container, ready to eat. I'm happy to say the taste translated to a great experience in dining. The marinated beef was tender and flavorful. The chicken was moist tender with a crisp exterior. The cucumber salad was bright and refreshing. The fresh sushi was a nice touch. I went back another time to try the cold chicken ramen, a three piece chicken appetizer, and the tiramisu. I was happy with the fresh flavor of the vegetables in the ramen. It was a nice change. I've got caviar taste, and a tuna fish budget. This is my fifth meal delivery service that I've have used in the last 15 years. When I find something I like, I don't change. They usually change, go out of business, or whatever. The last one I had was based out of the East Coast, but had a Los Angeles kitchen. But they and everyone else lost their delivery drivers because California and their tax happy politicians made all the drivers and gig workers go W-2 as opposed to 1099, which means they can't write off vehicles obviously. Well, I lost that service 2 years ago. I went on my own for the last couple years. I put on some pounds slowly, because when I am my own chef, I love my product a little too much if you know what I mean. A friend of mine recommended Mat and Proulx Prep & Performance. www.prepxperformance.com I'm 3 months in, 18 lb down, and going strong with absolutely the best, highest quality, flavorful meals I've ever had from any other service. The smallest size they offer is around 5-7lbs ($65) and it WAS SUPER GOOD, SOFT AND CRISPY! Pairs perfectly well with all the accompaniments. And will definitely order again, perfectly balanced (not super salty, like others are) and just melts in your mouth even when reheated a few times. They also have a fairly decent catering menu offering so will try a few of the items next time.

The price is reasonable though menu items get a bit repetitive. Food is very tasty and flavorful, you can submit your selections and modifications during the week for your Sunday evening pick up. Pickup is quick and easy. I loved the protein pancake breakfasts, ceviche, and the white fish. I didn't enjoy the caldo de res as it was the smokey style and not the version I'm used to.
