Los Feliz

I picked up Terry Naturally Curamin at Lassen's in Los Feliz after one of their fabulous empolyees…read morerecommended it, and I was genuinely surprised by how quickly I felt a difference. I took 3, the suggested dose, and by the next day my pain had gone from a 7 or 8 to about a 3 or 4. When pain softens, life softens with it. My mood shifted almost immediately because my body was no longer carrying the same level of strain. It's amazing how much brighter everything feels when the edge of pain lets go. I'm very thankful for the suggestion to give this a try. For me, it brought real relief, and that is no small thing.

The cashiers are friendly to your face, some of them are very genuine, I've been shopping here since 2017. But like the store experience, cold as you walk away. They're jealous of the people who shop here. I don't know how to explain it. The food has premium prices so things are on the expensive side. If you have the money to shop here or even EBT the cashiers can be snide. They talk about you while you're around the corner like I just don't understand. One of the cashier guys (one who was fired for this) who works here has to feel better than you, like it's a popularity contest and it's a grocery store. He calls you loco and then hides in the back so you don't get his name on his nametag. And he has brown and grey in his hair like how old are you??? I don't think it's a race thing (although I have had to complain to corporate about the C#+#k on their dumpsters in the front parkinglot. I think it's a spoiled, entitlement thing. I feel like people should be grateful to have a job. Maybe this location is not the best place to shop if you have social anxiety or are sensitive to mean people.

I had such a positive experience during my most recent visit to this Sprouts location in Burbank…read morethat I felt compelled to write a review. From the moment I walked in, the customer service really stood out. I was approached by staff at least three different times, each one kindly asking if I needed help finding anything. It didn't feel forced or overbearing, just genuinely attentive and thoughtful. When I did have a question, I ended up speaking with the store manager, Justus, and he was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough in helping me. You can tell he really cares about both the customers and the store experience. That level of service is rare these days, and it honestly made my whole visit feel easy and enjoyable. It definitely left a lasting impression and makes me look forward to my next visit. Big thank you to the team for going above and beyond.

My Bread of choice is always whole grain. The sandwich is huge and cut in half. For an extra buck you can add chips and a water. Now, if you are in a rush they have pre made sandwiches of all sorts. Those are good too but not as good as a handmade one. Pro-tip they have cool kid lunches. Perfect for a field trip. Sprouts also has a self serve nuts/candy/dried fruits sold by the pound. Lots of organic and good for the soul stuff. I am a fan.

ABC Christian Supplies is a vegetarian grocery (and gift shop) run by the Seventh Day Adventists…read more(SDAs), a group that has advocated for vegetarianism for nearly 150 years in their churches, schools and universities, hospitals and businesses. SDAs also have an entrepreneurial streak and have been making mockmeats since the 1800s under a variety of brands (including the still-thriving Morningstar Farms). The Kellogg Brothers (of Kellogg's cornflakes fame) were SDAs and invented a bunch of other great vegan foods 130 years before Beyond Meat or Impossible Foods existed. In this store, the biggest appeal for vegan foodies is to find stuff you've never seen before, such as Loma Linda "Nutolene" (a peanut-based "meat"), Loma Linda "Tuno," Heritage Health Food "vege-burger" in a can, and Worthington Foods XBurger (frozen). Most of these products can't be found outside of SDA stores. Some of them are awesome and others not so much (the Worthington XBurger looked and smelled great, but tasted terrible). Canned items cost $4-7 per can, so they're not cheap, but they're also novel enough to warrant a splurge. You'll also find a large selection of Taiwanese mockmeats and a few more mainstream brands like Field Roast. Visit this store for something out of the ordinary and indulge in a bunch of products you won't find anywhere else.

I've been coming to Lazy Acres for over a year, ever since moving into the neighborhood, and I'm…read morereally glad this store replaced the old Rite Aid. It feels like a huge upgrade. Overall, this is easily one of my go-to grocery stores in LA, and I literally stop by almost every day. The store is always organized, clean, and easy to shop. Not everything is organic, but they carry a lot of great products, and the overall selection is strong. I usually get my daily produce here, and I also buy wine here pretty often. The water refill area is always kept clean, which I appreciate, and their fresh juice section is one of my favorite parts of the store. The larger juices come in plastic, but the price on the orange juice is hard to beat, so I keep going back for it. I also like their prepared food section. During one stretch I was buying it pretty often and was always happy with the options, especially since a lot of the food avoids seed oils and uses grass-fed beef. They even have a live kitchen where you can sign up for classes and participate in food prep, which is a really cool touch and makes the store feel more thoughtful and community-oriented. The staff is another big plus. I've interacted with a lot of the cashiers and employees here, and they've all been sweet, personable, and genuinely pleasant to talk to. You can tell the people working here care and that the store is trying to offer a better experience. My only real issue is the meat and fish section. I've tried a lot from it over time--chicken breast, wings, ground wagyu, marinated items, branzino--and too often I've felt like I wasn't getting the freshest product. That's the one department that has consistently let me down. It's disappointing because the rest of the store is so strong. I also don't really understand why the wagyu ground beef costs almost double when it's formed into patties, but that's more confusing than a dealbreaker. At the end of the day, I still think Lazy Acres is one of the best grocery stores in LA, especially for convenience, cleanliness, product mix, and staff. But I've pretty much told myself to stop buying meat here, because for the same price I can get much better quality from a proper butcher. Since it's only a 3-minute walk from me, I'll absolutely keep coming back, just with a little more selectiveness about what I buy.

Let me get this out of the way: this is not your average grocery store. The produce department…read morelooked gorgeous, the meat counter was top-notch, and the fish was clearly fresh. The employees were genuinely helpful and a cut above what you usually find at a grocery store -- and yes, you pay a premium for that. I picked up some vegetables and fruit, and the pineapple was outstanding -- easily the best I've bought in the U.S. The vegetables were noticeably better than what I get at my local market. This is a great place to shop when you want high-end produce, meat, or fish. Would I do my weekly grocery shopping here? Probably not. But as a quality-focused stop, I really liked this store.

The smoothie bar line is populated roughly 80% by people who saw it on someone's feed, cannot afford this on any kind of regular basis, and are here purely for the content. I include my daughter in this demographic, and I say that with love. She wanted the smoothie. She got the smoothie. Twenty one dollars. I watched her face carefully as she took the first sip. She is a good sport, I will give her that. The dedication to maintaining a positive expression in the face of what can only be described as expensive, vaguely flavored pudding of mysterious ingredients was genuinely impressive. You could tell exactly how much she loved it by how enthusiastically she offered to share it with everyone in the family. She did not ask for it back. Not once. I had been expecting $21 to produce something that would recalibrate my entire smoothie reference point. Instead it tasted like someone blended wellness buzzwords into a cup and forgot to add flavor. Crossed off the list. The hype machine is real, the smoothie is not. At least I now have an opinion based on actual evidence rather than someone's Instagram grid. My daughter has already moved on to the next thing. As she should. Was gonna be 0 stars - but its not allowed, so I added the star, as the service in this place is great and they are all very friendly. The lines are horribly long, and the place gets really crowded around the smoothie area - so if you are not in line, roam the store and stare at all the items that you will never want to buy at the prices they are listed at. Great thing was that we were headed to the Grove - which has some awesome places to eat in the farmers market, and we were able to refresh the taste buds there - along with some much needed retail therapy for the girls. NO PICS AS I DO NOT WANT TO SPREAD THE MADNESS !!
