I ended up getting the **Viva juice** (cucumber, apple, pineapple, lemon, and ginger) in a 16 oz bottle. It was so crisp and refreshing for a warm day! My kiddo ordered the "Dr. juice" Açai bowl and they do not skimp on the toppings. They were incredibly generous with the strawberries, blueberries, coconut flakes, chia seeds, granola, and walnuts. After a long day of triathlon training, two of my friends and I were craving a refreshing smoothie and Dr. Juice delivered *exactly* what we were looking for! We decided to stop by on a whim after finding it on Google and it turned out to be the perfect post-training treat. I got the Berry Belly smoothie, and it was incredible! It was packed with the freshest ingredients - berries, banana, avocado, spinach, peanut butter, flaxseeds, protein powder, coconut sorbet, and milk. We made it vegan by swapping in almond milk and vegan protein powder and it was so delicious. Even though I'm not vegan, I did love how many options there were for making it vegan! My other friend went for Sophia's Glow Bowl and it looked just as amazing. The base was acai root sorbet with mango, blueberry, strawberry, pineapple, collagen, honey, and milk. Topped with banana, strawberry, bee pollen, goji berries, rose petals, coconut flakes, sesame seeds, chia seeds, and pumpkin seeds - everything was perfectly balanced and vegan-friendly too. The presentation of everything was truly gorgeous and we could all tell that they take pride in what they serve. The prices were reasonable, and the service was top-notch.. Both of the staff were friendly and quick. Despite the fact I live a bit far from Dr. Juice, I know I'll definitely be coming back for another smoothie anytime I'm in the area! During our prolonged stay in Glendale, I happily returned to Dr. Juice several times, mostly to get some healthy (tasty!) fiber and freshness interspersed in my three-month cholesterol-filled kebab crawl. At Dr. Juice they have so many succulent and sweet options all made to order, as well as all very aesthetically pleasing. From smoothies - extremely customizable including the options for extra protein and healthy nut butters - to different sizes of açaí bowls, and even some ready-to-go options and juices. There's almost an overwhelming amount of choices, but staff (a husband and wife team, I think?) are friendly, genuine, and happy to explain the menu in detail. I've had several bowls and smoothies from Dr Juice, and all have been really refreshing - not overly sweet or too rich but perfectly creamy; the bowls are full of fresh fruits, nuts and nut butters, seeds, etc. The base of the smoothies is fruit + milk, and for the milks they have both dairy, lactose-free dairy, and non-dairy options, which is awesome. My kids love them too, which says a lot. Incredibly filling, and easily a full meal and you get your money's worth which I think can be hard to say for some other places I've visited. As they're made fresh to order, you may wait a moment or two, but it's certainly worth the wait. Only comment for potential improvement is perhaps more indoor seating. Parking is tight in a tiny lot, but there is usually a space or two. We're hopefully popping home to Pasadena soon, but I wouldn't hesitate to make the drive back over here to support this small business! read more

I could go on and on listing famous imagined and non-fictitious doctors but we would be here all day. So, let's put an end to that game but add Dr. Juice. No, this isn't a porn star (get your mind out of the gutter!) but rather a smoothie/juice bar in Glendale ready to serve your healthy lifestyle needs. Dr. Juice is a family-owned local business situated on W. Glenoaks Blvd near the Grandview intersection (this is the part of Glendale bordering Burbank) in a small strip plaza (careful, because although parking is available - it is limited and people act like fools stopping in the middle of drive, etc). From the outside, Dr. Juice could be mistaken for a pot clinic but once you enter; you are welcomed to a high ceiling, airy establishment with walls filled with fake plants and succulents, neon wings perfect for your Instagram photos and wooden shelves selling snacks such as cashews, almonds and sugar-free gummy bears. Ironically, I patroned Dr. Juice straight after coming from one of my doctor's appointments (what are the odds!) and was immediately greeted upon entering and certainly made to feel welcome even being asked if this was my first time. Definitely a good start! Whether you're coming from the doctor like me, the gym or just wanting a fresh treat; Dr. Juice has you covered with chia bowls, smoothie bowls, acai bowls, juices,  and health shots. The menu is extensive with various offerings AND you can create your own combination so basically you can be Dr. Frankenstein yourself and mix and match! Prices are a bit steep and higher than other juice bars I've been to but it is also expected with fresh fruits and veggies. I kept it simple and chose a Green Squeeze juice (apple, cucumber, lettuce and kale - $10) and a Ginger Friends shot (orange, lemon, honey, turmeric, black pepper - $5). The associate apologized because he said they are out of the Green Squeeze bottles and would have to make me a fresh batch (they make juices every morning) and was wondering if I had a few minutes to wait while they prepared the juice. This was not a problem at all as I would rather have a fresh juice made just for me and I certainly appreciated his apology although it wasn't even necessary. Customer service at Dr. Juice is high-caliber; treating their customers with genuine care. The Ginger Friends shot was decently sized in portion and was fresh and tasty with a citrus kick balanced with the honey and a spicy kick of the pepper. I honestly thought it tasted spicier than black pepper jumps so this may not be for those who don't like spice. Great for sinuses! I'm very partial to green juices and typically always choose them; but honestly I found the Green Squeeze to be a bit absent of the usual heart skips I get from green juice. Was it refreshing? Was it clean and healthy tasting? Did it blow my mind? Yes, yes again and no. The Green Squeeze needs some sort of fruit or sweet element even if just a drop because it tasted one note and bland to me. It wasn't awful... but just not on-par with others I've had. I should have chosen a smoothie in order to really assess Dr. Juice. Dr. Juice also has the extra perk of a customer appreciation card where punches earn you freebies. I don't know about you; but I am ALLLL about freebies and extra benefits! By all means, Dr. Juice is a solid business: fresh, quality offerings, interior design that is nice on the eyes and great customer service. These factors do add up to a good experience. However, I simply wasn't blown away by the flavors/juices and have had much better elsewhere.  This coupled with higher prices than other juice bars was a bit of a let-down. Again, I'm not saying it is bad! Don't misunderstand. But it simply isn't memorable nor would I return unless in the area which shows that it was 'average'. It's one of those, "Try it for yourself" places. Or perhaps I should have gotten a smoothie. But regardless, Dr. Juice is a great doctor to have! read more
