First, the delivery went great and the meals were pretty good. However, order #2 is not so good. They charged me for the meals on 12/19 as of today 12/27 no meals and no tracking #. The AI chat tool is useless and just an excuse not to pay for live support. You can call but you will not get a live person, just a voicemail. I left a message and 24hrs later I am still waiting for a call back. At least when I used Factor I could call and actually speak to someone. May consider going back read more

Extremely good! Bummer, they didn't have it for this next week's order. The chicken breast was tender and juicy, while the cauliflower was crunchy and grained rice was nicely cooked. 2. Low Carb - Turkey Meatloaf served w/broccoli florets and grain rice. The turkey meatloaf was good but tasted a bit too mushy for me. Whereas the broccoli florets and grain rice were perfectly cooked and filling. I may try out the Balanced or Keto version at some point. 3. Low Carb - Chicken Tenders (2pcs) Plate served w/a chipotle sauce, roasted Brussel sprouts and cauliflower rice. The chicken tenders were hearty w/a little bit of heat to them. The chipotle sauce was too spicy for me. The roasted Brussel sprouts were a bit al-dente, but I still dig it. The cauliflower rice was also tasty, a little bit of heated kick (still edible). 4. Low Carb - Chicken and Cauliflower Rice. My last and simplest meal for the week, which was tender, moist and flavorful. Overall, I highly recommend Muscle Up Meals. A few of the things that I'm digging: 1) you can pick portion size - female, male etc. I tried another service and they didn't have that option so my husband had to eat a second dinner to feel full 2) food is super tasty! The veggies are hardy (green beans, yams) so I froze one as I ordered too many, and it still tasted fine after unfreezing. 3) the price is competitive. I am one of those people that just loves food and doesn't plan his everyday meal because--I live on a foodie whim! I love to eat out at different places and eating at home is a rarity. My job basically demand for this lifestyle (I on the road the entire day). So, when I got to try Adam's Muscle- Up Meals Prep Service, I was a bit skeptical/unenthusiastic. Well, let me tell you something my fellow Yelp Community, the meals I have tried blew me out of the ball park. They have been DE-LI-CIOUS! I tried the Cajun Salmon, The Tri-Tip (my personal favorite), the Tilapia (generally my least favorite type of fish), even the oatmeal--I hate oatmeal! They were ALL fantastic (even the oats), flavorful and, most shockingly, filling. I was filled for hours on after eating each one of these aforementioned plates. The key to these meals is the food combination along with spices. Adam infuses appropriate spices with each food group (protein, major carb, to veggie side) and that with the minimal use of oils makes the taste skyrocket. I dream of my next tri-tip meal. DREAM about it. I have ordered two rounds of his "five meal "service option. Adam is very flexible when it comes to alternating what meal types you get (I ordered one breakfast, two lunches and two dinners both times around). The price, $69, is fairly reasonable considering that unlike other meal preps out there, this one has heart, soul, and thought put into them. It's so sad because this company has a lot going for it, but their basic drawbacks keep them from being great. I've tried many different meal delivery companies and I do prefer MuscleUpMeals out of them all but there are still some significant down sides. First, the good: 1. Their food is always delicious. I haven't had such delicious meals from a delivery plan. 2. They are the only company in Los Angeles that I can find that will offer vegetarian/vegan and keto at the same time. 3. They have no-nonsense straight-forward ordering and no subscription nonsense. Just order the meals you want. 4. Out of about 5 different companies I've tried, this company has the least amount of shipping/packaging waste, which is a REALLY big deal. Now here's the bad news: 1. The meals are INCREDIBLY OVERPRICED at an average of $15 per meal. That's one meal for 1 person. And you get a tiny little meal, not something like you'd get for the same $ in a restaurant. This price wouldn't be so bad if they didn't charge another $15 for shipping. I completely get that they are shopping and cooking for me and the overhead involved in meal prep, but... 2. They skimp on the important stuff. Primarily meat or other proteins. We had "broccoli beef" the other night and literally had 2 strips of fajita meat in it, a TON of cauliflower rice, and a broccoli. This is an ongoing problem, not just an isolated incident. They definitely weigh their ratios to cheap out, which is terrible considering their price. If they are going to charge a solid $5-7 MORE than the competition, they need to make sure it is worth it. 3. They charge and additional $15 for shipping. A whole $15 on top of the exorbitant meal prices. 4. To further cut costs they cross-pollinate their meals. For example their broccoli beef, beef bulgogi and beef fajitas just all use the same meat. There's no difference, and this was most disappointing with the beef bulgogi which is not at all supposed to be like fajitas nor does it resemble the photos on their website. 5. ...which leads me to the next thing: They are really badly guilty of false advertising. They use unrelated stock photos of foods on their website menu, that don't even show anything remotely similar to what you actually get. They need to make sure the food at least is recognizable. (I'm looking at you again Bulgogi Beef!) I really want to continue buying meals from this company, but they have way too many drawbacks that need to be fixed first, primarily value. read more

I lost 50 pounds in just a few months! Two words describe this businesses: life changing! I was a little hesitant at first to start a healthy eating plan because I loved and was used to the food I was eating. After hearing good things from friends I finally decided to give it a try and let me tell you it was the best decision I've made, I couldn't believe how tasty this food is, it doesn't taste like health food at all, I'm still shocked to say a lot of it taste even better than what I used to Eat. My first order was made on Dec 15, 10 assorted meals for $140. I got everything on Monday Dec 17 as ordered. The food was fine, they were good and the portion was fine but felt some of the meals were way too salty (namely the lamb and the meatloaf). Decided to order a 2nd batch on Dec 20 (went with mostly lighter meals this time), to be delivered on Dec 23 (Sunday) between the hours of 8pm -12am. The food was never delivered, no text messages, no e-mails explaining why. Since no one communicated to me about the status of my order, I started following up on the order Dec 26, asking for a refund and why my order wasn't delivered. No response. Fine, I thought it might be due to a holiday, even though nowhere on the website did it indicate that the company was on holiday, in fact, next to the e-mail address, it said that "e-mails are checked frequently" on the website. Followed up again on Dec 27, nothing. During this time, I called my bank refuting this charge. Followed up again on Dec 30, letting them know that I have asked my credit card company to refute this charge and I will be leaving a negative review on Yelp, and what do you know, got a response right away! The response that I got was unsatisfactory. First, Adam (owner) explained that he was away on holiday, and thought someone had taken care of my request for refund and that he was having IT issues (He showed me text exchanges and e-mails explaining the IT issue as the reason why no one got back to me about the refund) but nope, that's not what I was really asking about. I was actually asking why my order was never delivered on Dec 23 when it specifically said a delivery date of Dec 23. Several iterations of the response were given, one of them was "the order system has since been upgraded so that it knows when they will be away on holiday", "he has told several clients that he will be out of town, but maybe didn't tell me". Sometimes, I feel like its just easier to own up to your mistake and none of that was done here. Listen, I am all about supporting small businesses and mindful about people needing time off during the holiday. But not fulfilling an order is not OK for a small business, especially in a competitive space such as meal deliveries when clients have many options. What I do have a gripe about, is that nowhere on the website, did it indicate that it was on holiday and that there was an order/delivery cut off time, had there been, I wouldn't have placed the order! In fact, the week of Dec 17, I kept getting reminder e-mails about re-ordering! So clearly, their IT was on point about the sales portion of the business, but perhaps they need to work on the execution. Full disclosure, Adam (owner) did offer me a full refund and some free meals going forward. I have spent way too much time on this order already (I stayed up waiting for my meals to be delivered on Dec 23 as I go to bed early Sunday nights, plus time corresponding, calling my bank, etc). Mistakes happen, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Reliable, tasty and you feel good being on their program. A lot of thought goes into the meals and you will have great energy without being hungry. The only suggestion I have is to use less tomato in the recipes. It is too heavy on the use of tomato sauce. Maybe try other spices -- pesto?? Basil is easy to grow and more green would be welcome. Happy to pay more for less tomatoes. I would literary stay on this forever if you had more diverse spices. I love that they have such a variety from balanced, Keto, Vega, etc. I always order the almond crusted chicken tenders because they are so tender, with great flavor and the sauce is spicy and perfect. Their customer service is really good, quick, and they respond customized to your needs (unlike other companies that give general blanket replies). I'd give them zero stars if I could. Don't waste your time or money with these guys. We were customers for a full year and experienced time after time that they do not care about anything but your charge card. When they delivered to an incorrect address after our numerous attempts days in advance to change the delivery address, I called and Adam, the owner (the one with the photoshopped pecks on the website lol) and he pretended to accidentally hang up on me and then wouldn't pick up my calls. Never got our order nor did they send a replacement. No calls. No apology. Nothing. Not smart. To make this right he would have had to replace the order which would have cost him $200 but, instead, he lost out on $800 + income/month from this customer. The number on their website appears to be out of service and, apparently, they never look at emails. All around cheesy company. Glad we found another delivery service that's solid. read more
