They recommended we hire a pin point leak detection company, who drained our pool and found no leaks ($650 down the drain). Separately, they recommended acid washing our pool and we trusted them when they said it would bring out the white in the pebble tec. Instead, we got unsightly streaks throughout our entire pool. We hired a new pool company who promptly found the source of the leaks (a twisted O-ring that happened when the previous company changed out the filter). Replaced it for $25 and no dirt since. But the ugly discoloration remains, and I've tried working with them to help me repair this, to no avail. I'm highly frustrated every time I look at the pool.

However, I ran into several issues with the service and communication. The original quote mentioned "startup chemicals," but it did not specify quantities. After the pool was filled, the manager came out and only added one gallon of liquid chlorine(not enough) see pic. When I asked about stabilizer and acid to balance the pH, he told me acid wasn't needed because the city water is already balanced, and that stabilizer was not included in the estimate. We disagreed on this, and he refused to add stabilizer. The situation became frustrating, especially when he said I was "difficult to deal with." Earlier, his crew had trouble locating the cleanout for about 10 minutes. When I got home, I was able to find it myself shortly after. Later, I called and asked him not to send his crew back since I had already started the sump pump and we discussed a couple of very small pinhole leaks that I didn't consider a big issue. Despite that, he insisted on sending his team again, and then mentioned that it was an extra trip that would cost more. I want to note that I treated his crew well--I tipped them and even offered refreshments during the work. Bottom line: the quality of work was good, but communication and clarity on the estimate were lacking. Make sure to carefully review all details in the quote before choosing this company.

Now, you might think its a required minimum fee, but do that math, you realize they are smiling while screwing you. Its just wrong. Also, beware, in the middle of a seemingly great relationship, they may decide at one weeks notice to " change the service area" and stick you with a new pool company in your " area". Its a company they decided was good- without any notice or permission to give all your personal info, including phone number to. It was odd and awkward as a customer. These two situations, really sour what they present as a customer service focused company. Also, specifically Alyssa Brennan- she does all the scheduling, she is also sweet as pie until you actually are in need, and her communication over time gets less friendly and more demanding.

In looking around at other online groups, I noticed that he was the owner of a pool business. I checked reviews everywhere and everyone loved his friendliness and expertise. We had a broken pump and needed it replaced quickly in the Phoenix heat. Shawn answered my questions and gave me recommendations outside of business hours and scheduled our repair to happen in 36 hours. He came out this morning, was fast, efficient and super friendly to work with. We now have a great new pump and the pool is clean again! He sent me a receipt for my payment the same day and also filed for a rebate for me. Gold star service. He knows Hayward and Pentair and I'm sure he works with others too. He also has a year round pool cleaning service (which I haven't used, but I'd recommend just based on Shawn being in charge of it). Thanks again, Shawn. I went in person to get an…read moreestimate after I had already done a "pool school session" and a tech call previously and had schedule to have my pool clean. I wanted to make sure how much it was going to actually cost me, so I made sure that they knew WHAT I HAD IN SUPPLIES including the fact that I had three bags of salt and I wanted them to be used so that I would NOT HAVE to pay their price for the salt needed for my pool. I knew I would need two additional bags but that was it. Well it DID NOT GET USED even though it was NOTED on my file. Then I also knew I needed to replace the filters and would do so at the same time as when getting my pool drained and refilled. The tech was already here, it's not like he had to do an extra trip or anything. I had called and spoken to Shawn over the phone because I received a text letting me know the filters were on sale with a 15% discount and I wanted to make sure the discount was applied to my invoice. He said that yes it was going to be applied on the final bill. Except Shawn failed to mention the FACT THAT THEY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME $140 additional for putting the filters in. But the worst part was when I went in person to find out why my bill was so high. Of course being the honest person that I am I HAD ALREADY PAID THE INVOICE. Because both the young guy with the beard can't remember his name and a lady with short curly hair ( also don't know her name) were very rude.
