The family is very friendly, husband and wife, who are hands-on owners and will physically mix paint, cut pipe, give you advice, point you to the right aisle, and give you a variety of options for what you are looking for. Sometimes their selection is lacking, especially if there has been a rush of customers, but overall, being downtown working for many years back-when, why would I run to Lavale and have to fight lines when I can walk right down the street and get taken care of quickly. What's also cool that you wouldn't think of- they have a variety of services as well that at big box stores you'll fight tooth and nail to have someone help you and probably then just pawn it off on another associate. Here at this location - they cut glass, cut pipe, mix paint, make keys, and a variety of services you wouldn't expect. Very impressed! Will be back!

Hubby is the boss where he works, but scheduled meetings with all of the out of town big wigs were slated for last week. We got an emergency call which needed our time and attention back home, so we made a deal, he said that he would go with me, if we drove round trip in one day. I agreed, as I really did not want to make this particular trip alone and said I will drive there ( four hours ) if you will drive home. In agreement again, while I drove in, using my car, he slept most of the way. We paid our respects to my brother and his family and were on our way to get a quick bite to eat, when hubby said, how long has that oil life low been reading? I said oh, it's been doing that, but I keep resetting it... He literally turned every color of the rainbow and said we have to find a mechanic now! Okay. Of course when you need a garage you will not find one and he was fuming ( calm down honey, it's okay, I hit the reset button ), when he pulled into the parking lot of this Ace Hardware, yay, maybe they can make him happy! He bought a bunch of motor oil and kept pouring it in, while I am saying, be careful not to get that on your white shirt or tie, lol, if looks could kill.. I thought that it was so nice of that boy who was going into work to walk clear across the parking lot and take that bag of empty oil bottles out of our hands, because It was NOT going in my car!

Friendly employees, well organized, baby chicks in the front of the store to delight your toddler... My only room-for-improvement observation is that some parts of the ceiling are falling down in the back of the store, but I'm sure this general maintenance issue will be addressed at some point.
