I looked at the sign placed on the sidewalk and it offers cooking classes. Cool! What drew me in was a pasta dryer. It was red and translucent. It looked cool. I walked in. There is a little ramp for those who may need a wheelchair to enter and exit the store. Perhaps I had luck on my side. I didn't have anyone asking whether I needed assistance. I like self-discovery when I have nothing in mind to shop for. A female staffer was assisting two other female customers. Judging from their conversation, they would be going at it for a while. One of them was awfully specific about the types of mini bowls that she had in mind. I was correct. They were still talking by the time I had completed by browsing excursion in this store. This store is more on the higher end of kitchen appliances and accessories. If you're looking for higher quality items, you want to shop here. I have a few examples. I found a stainless steel poacher for eggs. I frankly don't think that you need to get one for $15, but you can if you're dying to own one. I found a rather fancy-looking carbonation machine. It made my SodaStream machine that I love look like a toy. I love Le Creuset. It is truly an investment when you are buying pieces, so I don't own a lot of items. I normally hit an outlet or wait for a sale. This place had a silicone brush for basting turkeys or applying egg wash to your pastries before shoving them into the oven. It felt good in my hand until I saw that it was $25. Really? The cooking classes seem to happen at the back. There is a kitchen, but it had so many products around the cooking area that was obviously dormant. It was odd to me. You'd have to take all your products off before you have your cooking class. It seemed like a lot of work. Perhaps there's another kitchen area in the back that I wasn't aware of. Who knows? It was nice browsing around this store. I liked looking at the covered shopping carts. I grew up with a foldable metal one with two wheels. It was bigger that the ones offered here, but I like how your items are protected from the elements. The designed looked nice compared to my boxy ones that I've owned over the years when I didn't have a car and needed to walk to the supermarket down the street. I advised the cashier there's poop on the floor. 10 minutes passed, it was still on the floor. I advised another staff member who rudely responded to me and said "I know I know, we've already been told" then turned her back to me. I told her I'm trying to be nice and helping them avoid avoid a situation where people would step on it. She responded and was rude about it again. I asked to speak with a manager I was told the manager is on break. I walked away. Another 5 minutes passed same girl and the assistant manager proceeded to clean the poop. As they walked by I said "it's about time somebody attended to it." The assistant manager rudely responded, we didn't know and was very confrontational. I said I reported twice, how do you not know. I asked to speak to a manager above her, I was then told that there is no manager on duty. I left and called the store (905) 850-8131, the assistant manager answered. I asked to speak to a manager, she told me that no manager tonight and for the rest of the weekend. After a few words back and forth she hung up on me, accused me of being rude to her and her staff. I called back again, she was rude and she hung up again. Not very good customer service at all after trying to help them prevent customers from stepping on dog poop. I live by myself and I'm gentle with my furniture. Yet already there is a drastic rip along one of the most in-use seams on the sofa: the bending seam where the recliner opens. I contacted Back In Comfort to let them know the state of their product after just a few months, and the actual word-for-word response I received was "go to an upholsterer, best of luck." Despite some interesting furniture options in-store, and a pleasant experience during the initial purchase and delivery of this sofa, I cannot overlook that Back In Comfort has ultimately left me holding the bag on a bad product. I planned on buying a floating table from here in a few weeks as a birthday present to myself. Instead I warn future customers to set aside extra money after dealing with Back In Comfort, you may need it when they tell you to take your months-old, deteriorating product to an upholsterer.
