There was only one mattress on sale under $200. One note to people interested in buying a mattress at Springmade: all the prices are HST inclusive, and you can pay by major credit cards. My spouse and I gave it a try after coming across recommendations on various forums, then confirming on the manufacturers' websites that they are an authorized dealer for the brands they sell. This is not the kind of mattress store that has locations in every neighbourhood or advertises on every TV show. Besides the store being out of our way, it's sparsely decorated with narrow aisles (which was actually a bit of a challenge with our toddler's stroller). Any mattress that's available to try is wrapped in plastic. If you need help, you may need to wait for a salesperson to be available. And while delivery to your front door is free, room delivery and/or haul-away are extra charges. Some people may not be happy with that style of service, which I understand entirely! But there are lots of options to try, prices are very good without having to wait for a "sale", and the salespeople are knowledgeable and don't work on commission. There's also no need to haggle - though extra coupons are often available through their email list. So why we cancelled? The exact same type of Sealy mattress we ordered went on sale for about a hundred dollars less the next day through a certain membership warehouse. National Mattress said they would honour their price match policy even though it was a different model name, which we appreciated, but could not match some of the other benefits of buying through the warehouse. Getting a refund required a return trip to the store but was otherwise hassle-free. Still, we are very happy to recommend National Mattress to anyone looking for a mattress in a lower-pressure environment where you don't have to negotiate for hours to get a good value.

Extremely disappointing experience with National Mattress…read more I purchased a NEW Sealy Posturepedic mattress from National Mattress and paid more than $400 for delivery. When Day & Ross attempted delivery, the shipment was in poor condition. More importantly, the mattress itself was visibly soiled and damaged, including the pillow-top fabric. I took photographs documenting the condition. I refused delivery because I had ordered a new mattress and was not prepared to accept one in that condition. The mattress was taken back by Day & Ross and was never accepted or used by me. I immediately contacted National Mattress customer support, provided photographs, and requested a full refund, including the $400+ delivery charge. I initially received no meaningful response despite following up. After I posted a Google review, the owner of National Mattress responded publicly, acknowledging that the condition of the mattress did not meet their standards and stating that someone would contact me regarding my refund. A National Mattress store representative subsequently called me. I again explained that I had refused delivery and had photographs documenting the condition. The representative told me that he was unaware of what was happening with customer support and was not aware of my previous correspondence or photographs. I was then told that National Mattress would not process my refund until Day & Ross returned the mattress to National Mattress. I find the handling of this situation appalling. I purchased and paid for a NEW mattress, refused delivery because it arrived visibly soiled and damaged, and never accepted or used it. I understand that National Mattress may want to investigate the shipment with Day & Ross, but that is an issue between National Mattress and its delivery partner. It should not require me to wait for their carrier investigation before receiving my refund. I am seeking a full refund of everything I paid, including the $400+ delivery charge. I have initiated a credit-card dispute and filed a complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario. I will update this review if and when the matter is finally resolved.
