Great experience with Chris and Vicki! I had just come home from a work trip where I had gotten bedbug bites at my hotel. I went through all the proper steps of getting rid of them when returning home - freezing my shoes, luggage, etc. for days, washing all clothes immediately... however a few days later, panicked, I found 2 bugs under my mattress skirt. I called at least 10 different places to try to get someone out that day - lots of the bigger pest companies were a day or more out and most charged for a house visit. I'm so glad I called Bedbug BBQ and talked to Vicki. She could tell I was panicking and was able to coordinate with Chris to have him come out that day. I scheduled an exterminator but called Bed Bug BBQ anyway to see what they had to say. I was on a budget. Vicki was very helpful by telling me about a product they use, Aprehend which was suggested since I wasn't interested in heat treatment due to the price. She asked me to send her some photos and said Chris would call me and check them out. He did and agreed to do an inspection the same day. I was very surprised but he did not find evidence of bed bugs (I didn't have many pictures but what I found most looked like a larvae-a cream color. He turned my mattress over to check as well as checking the closet and other places and did not find evidence of bed bugs. He recommended that I don't get bed bug treatment. Dear Chris and Team BBBBQ First, sometimes when you need to get something done the right way you must grab the bull by the horns and do it yourself! At least, that is what I thought when I initially hired TERMINIX for my Bed Bug problem. Yes, I am victim of the bed bug epidemic! Thought out my experience the last 2 months I now know more than the average person about Bed Bugs! PLEASE DO NOT HIRE TERMINIX FOR YOUR BED BUG INFESTATION. My experience with Terminix was awful. They did a full treatment with chemical sprays. And then when Terminix showed up for a 2nd inspection they inspector inspected my 2-bedroom apartment in 5 minutes! Not even enough time to check everything! In fact, he said, "You don't have bed bugs anymore". I was so relieved UNTIL... 2 minutes after he left, I found 4 live bed bugs crawling on my comforter! My first thought was, "OMG! did he not even see that, or did he bring them into my home?" I do not think he even changed his clothes from his last job that same day in which he stated that the home had thousands of bed bugs! What the hell! I even saw a dead beg bug in one of the Terminix pest tests they had on the carpet, but he did not see that or say a word either! As I stood there shocked and panicked, I went onto Google and research Terminix reviews. they have hundreds if not thousands of negative reviews! Apparently, Terminix does know how to eradicate bed bugs. Maybe they are good with other insects but NOT BED BUGS. See, from further reading, Bed Bugs are immune to chemicals and spraying them may kill some but not all. Even their eggs and withstand chemicals. The Bed Bugs just keep coming and coming... there is only 1 option to 100% eradicate them and that is through HEAT TREATMENT! Terminix has less than inferior heat treatment procedures which I will get to in a minute. I will not scare you with my emotional distress (PTSD) BUT I HAD IT! Anyway, I immediately cancel Terminix and found Bed Bug BBQ. It got so bad that my 4-year daughter was getting bit and woke up with many swollen red marks on her arms and legs! I could not take it anymore, so I called Bed Bug BBQ and Chris (the owner) educated me on their methodology. Basically, Terminix was going to use minimal fans and these so-called hot boxes. Bed Bugs die at 122 degrees and I do not even think Terminix was going to get my apartment that hot long enough to KILL THEM ALL. Chris said his heater and many many fans (like 10-12 of them for my 1300 sq ft apartment) will get my apartment up to a peak of 150 degrees with intervals down to 140 degrees. He even showed me a temp chart on one of his other jobs. I instantly gained trust with Chris. He was not only truly knowledgeable but expressed great concern for my situation. He gave me advice on what to do and what not to do. He will do the same for you! For example, how to pack up to stay in hotel without bringing bed bugs with you. And how to prep for your home for your heat treatment, etc. So, I set up the heat treatment with Bed Bug BBQ and they completed the job to perfection! The heat even permeated into my walls and under the carpet killing all BBs! He even did the heat treatment inside my car! Terminix told me they would use the steam mixed with chemicals for the car instead of doing the effective heat treatment! That is just awful! BBBQ is pure non-toxic heat treatments and they have the right equipment for it. My PTSD was getting so bad I had to stay in a hotel 5 days prior to my heat treatment. I still woke up at 2am with my leg itching so I would turn on the light and check under the sheets and find NOTHING! These little vampire bugs are a total nightmare! I am grateful to BBBQ and now have peace of mind! I really feel bad for anyone who goes through that same thing I went through and making a bad decision by hiring Terminix. I would NOT use this company!!! They say that they guarantee their service, but they in fact DO NOT!!! It cost me over $3,000 to have my small ranch home heat treated. Within days I was finding live bedbugs. I called several times and also texted them more time than I can count, and all they did was brush me off. Had called several companies and they explained the regular treatment with chemicals. Then started to do some research, as I didn't like the idea of chemicals; nor the fact that the darn bugs were NOT impressed with chemicals. I found the ad for Bed Bug BBQ (heat treatment is the only thing that guarantees dead bugs) and reached Vicki. and after taking to her and describing the problem--she immediately arranged for Chris to come out and inspect the home. Yep--infestation of bed bugs. (No idea how they found their way into our home.!!) Chris explained the "heat process", the guarantee and how it was done. Answered all our questions and reassured that these little critters would not survive. The crew arrived at the scheduled 7:45 AM--checked the prep we had done and finished prepping, including our car. (Found out bedbugs are hikers and could be in our car.) Car got zapped with heat and we left for the day. Got a call at 4:30 PM that the bugs were done, zapped by heat and we could return in about 2 hours... Got home--house was sorta messy from the opening up of the bunched clothing but NO BUGS. It has been a week and apparently the cycle has been broken, cause we ain't seen no more of the pests. Just doing my job as a woman to call out creepy men who think they can touch a woman just because they can and because she is vulnerable. I was a tenant of Chris and Vicki's side business called Charm of Cleveland where they have properties you can rent. He came in to drop a letter off and we ended up talking. I was getting upset and emotional at whatever we were talking about and he comes up and rubs my back UNDER MY SHIRT. I was stunned. Gross. Greetings. I had BBQ come to my house on 12/13/19 to do a heat treatment. Prior to that I followed all their directions of what to take out of the house, I made over 10 trips and put all items at risk in my garage They came over the house, we did a walk through and I asked pointedly about the different blinds, I was willing to take them down and put them in the garage. Both individuals stated there was no problem with them and had be take down, but leave in the room, just a few blinds. I came back at the end of the day and was unable to open/close the blinds in the kitchen. I could raise them up and down however I could not tilt them, no matter what i tried. Then I took the following steps. 1. I ordered new blinds, similar and less expensive then the current ones. 2. On 12/17/19 I ordered the new blinds, after unsuccessfully attempting to tilt them, no matter what I tried. 3. On 12/17/19 I emailed Chris Gonda the receipt for the blinds along with an explanation, asking for a credit towards my purchase of his services for the cost of the blinds. 4. On 12/17/19 I emailed Chris Gonda again with a more complete explanation of what had transpired. 5. On 12/17/19 I received a reply from Chris stating that he would call me tomorrow, 12/18/19. 6. I immediately emailed Chris back stating I would prefer to handle this via email so there was no confusion. 7. I did not receive an email back from Chris. 8. On 1/1/20 I again emailed Chris asking for a credit towards my purchase. 9. To date, 1/7/20 I have not heard back from Chris either by phone or email. I had sent Bed Bug BBQ an email on Sunday night when I found what I suspected to be a bed bug. They called me Monday morning and confirmed the photo I had sent was a bed bug. Chris came out to inspect my house. He was very thorough, friendly, and informative. After searching all of the house, Chris didn't find any other signs of an infestation. He explained the possibilities of finding only one and that possibly a friend or family member brought it with them recently(had a full house 2 weeks ago). Even though he came out for free(who does that anymore!), he still took his time to explain things to me, even after he knew I wasn't going to need his services. I was very concerned about a possible bed bug issue and called Bed Bug BBQ at around 10:30 PM. I spoke with Vicki and explained why I was concerned that I had bed bugs and she immediately set up an appointment the next morning for someone to come out and do an inspection. I was thrilled with how prompt they were and that in itself made me happy. The icing on the cake was that she gave me a phone number to send a couple pictures I had taken and said she would pass it on to the owner of the company. Unexpectedly, less than 30 minutes later she calls me back and said that she sent the pictures to the owner immediately (10:30 at night) and he confirmed they were not bed bugs and was able to tell us exactly what problem we had and how to fix it. Within 2 days, our issue was resolved thanks to Bed Bug BBQ. I hope in the future we never have to deal with bed bugs, but if so, Bed Bug BBQ is the company we're going with. read more

Just over two weeks ago, we found a bed bug crawling across a pillow. After stripping the bedding , we found a couple more and after lifting up the mattress we found on the bed frame about 10 baby bedbugs. We keep our bedroom clean and we change the bedding every 2-3 weeks but we have never really done a thorough inspections for bugs until now. We washed all the linens but put on brand new clean linens and put the blanket and bedspread in the dryer for 20 minutes on high. We got a new mattress cover that detailed its effectiveness for bed bugs and also sprayed the room and bedding with the Raid anti-Bed Bug product. We don't have carpeting in our room. We took additional effort to make sure the room was spotless and we were confident that we had solved the problem. About a week later, we found another bed bug. Stripped the bedding and redid the room again just as before. The very next day, we found another bed bug and again the day after that. After researching the internet, we thought heat would be the most effective and efficient and safest strategy. I went to the Bed Bug BBQ website and watched their video and read a lot of their info and since our room was 196 square feet (14'x14'), we proceeded to rent the Killer Cube Rental package for $250 + sales tax for 24 hours (plus another $250 deposit) about 3 days later. Basically, the Killer Cube package gets you 2 fans and the heat cube and plenty of mega extension cords and a digital laser thermometer. I picked these up at 9am on Saturday and got instruction from Chris about how to use them (not hard) and most importantly planning to where I was going to plug everything in. You need to have outlets on separate circuits in your house. In our bedroom we plugged the fans in and one of the heat cubes inputs. The other two heat cube inputs were plugged in down the hall in the bathroom and downstairs in the hallway. Chris was more than willing to accommodate with plenty of extension cords (which I did not even come close to needing all he provided). Having "good" power made the cube more efficient and the heating of the room go as planned. I set the cube temperature for 135 with a goal of achieving 125 throughout the room. We placed the cube and the fans just like in the video on their website (and on YouTube). As the temperature was going up, I would point the laser thermometer around the room and watch the temperature rise. I did notice one area close to the one of the fans was not going up as quickly as other areas and I realized I had the fan pointing in the wrong direction which was easily fixed by turning the fan 180 degrees and all of the room got to 125-135 in over two hours. I went on to watch football games and I would check the temperature throughout the room and I would move the fans to make sure the entire room was getting hot. After a few hours, we opened dresser drawers, stripped the bedding but left it in the room, exposed the mattress and lifted it off the bed frame. We tried to expose every inch to the heat. All in all, we probably ran the everything for 9 hours (probably overkill). We did have a strip of vaneer come unglued on our IKEA dresser that I had to re-glue later due to the heat. It took a couple of hours for the room to get back to a normal temperature and we put on recently washed linens. We found only two dead bed bugs on the bed frame when re-assembling the room and removing the BBQ equipment. I returned the equipment the next morning 24 hours later from the time that I rent it. We have not found anymore bed bugs but it has been only 3 days. We believe the bed bugs hitchhiked from work as the building has well known and public bed bug problem so we are taking some effort to prevent that hitchhiking. Bottom line, if the heat treatment works long term as expected, our experience proved that Bed Bug BBQ was the safest, easiest, and most cost effective tactic. read more
