All spraying was done outside including not having to come into the garage, which was great.

Imperial Pest Control is an amazing company and do wonderful work for my home removing any size and…read moretype of bee hives and they are so efficient. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Medina County Region.

I'm disabled, a first-time homeowner, and new to town. When I saw tiny ants in my foyer and…read morekitchen, my godmother swore that Imperial Pest Control was the way to go; another aunt had a good initial experience with them in her new condo a week earlier, so I took their word as gospel and called without digging any deeper or checking Yelp (which I see has no reviews for them). Big mistake. I did get prompt, next day service for my initial Jan. 5 service. The technician, Andrew, was knowledgeable and we chatted amiably throughout his time here. He told me to call if I saw more ants and they'd come right out, though I'd be charged for such visits *after 60 days.* Just over five weeks later, I started seeing the same ants in the same places, plus different ants in the back of my house. I assumed it was the winter storm at work, and called on Feb 13 (day 39 of 60) for next steps. Not a word. I called again on Feb 18; silence. The next day, Feb 19, I remembered that Ken from Imperial had texted with me ahead of my first appointment, so I found that thread and added texts to my two unanswered calls, including images of the different ants in the back of the house. Ken finally reached out on Feb 22--three days after my texts, and nine days after my first call--to tell me he was happy to come over right that moment and drill holes into my walls to deal with the new type of ants, which he said were carpenter ants. He did not offer an apology or explanation for not responding to my calls for over a week. He told me that would cost $75--five bucks more than the first $70 visit a month earlier (which I was told by the technician was discounted ten bucks since I was a new customer). When I asked about the 60-day guarantee he claimed that his technician made it up and it was not real. When I asked if, moving forward, I should budget for $75/month on his company's services moving forward, Ken got very angry, and went off on me. I was lucky he discounted my first service, he told me, which usually costs 95 dollars or more, but he'd discounted because of my godmother's referral and because I knew what he'd charged my other aunt at her condo. As for the new service he was pitching? I was getting half off on that, he declared for the first time, because I'm an established customer. I needed to stop being greedy, he said, before telling me his rates were better than anyone's. I jumped in at that point to calmly assert that his anger and frustration with me were palpable, despite the fact that he was the one who left me hanging for over a week, and hadn't even apologized. He did apologize at that moment, and I thanked him for finally apologizing. He then claimed he'd apologized already. He then said I'd insulted him by asking if I should expect a monthly spend on his services. The conversation only degraded from there, until I told him that while I'd hoped to establish a long-term relationship with his company, like he had with my godmother, it clearly wasn't in the cards for us. I hung up before he could yell at me any further. Now that it's been an hour and I've had time to reflect on the entirety of my contact with him, I now believe that Ken ignored my calls because he did not want to honor his own 60-day guarantee; he only responded to my subsequent texts once he realized he could sell me a new service. I am committed to patronizing small, owner-operated businesses, particularly during the pandemic and subsequent economic crisis. But not Ken's Imperial Pest Control.
