This is an update to my 2022 review. Many large exterminator companies with national franchises knock on our door looking for work, but I'm sticking with Heights Pest Control b/c I know I can count on them for a quick response and thorough work. We had an ant infestation problem so I reached out to the company. Al responded right away (as always). They came out the next day to take care of the issue for us. We asked them to spray around the house as well, since we've been noticing spiders and house centipedes here and there. We paid using our credit card without any problems. I can attest that the gentleman who spoke about his experience with James in one of the past reviews was likely a result of an unfortunate misunderstanding - James came to service our house and he was a very friendly & pleasant Midwestern gentleman, we would work with him again any day of the week! read more

My girlfriend had a yellow jacket nest right at the entrance to the house, and Heights Pest Control was able to come deal with it on short notice so I hired them. James showed up the next day while I was at work and initially refused to start work until getting paid, which is fine, but the only options he offered were cash or bank transfer, no credit card, which was suspicious, but I could deal with that. Then while I was working on sorting out payment, he decided to start the work anyway, and then threatened and harassed my disabled girlfriend and roommate who were the only ones home, neither of whom had any contact with James before and had nothing to do with this service. He literally did not let them close the door to their own home until my girlfriend called me in a panic attack explaining the situation. At no point did James contact me directly about any of this. If it had escalated any further before I called him while I was on break at work, the police would have gotten involved. James is an extremely unprofessional and potentially violent man who clearly feels comfortable threatening and intimidating two young disabled women while the "man of the house" isn't around and has no business working in any job that involves contact with people. I will never recommend this company as long as James continues to work there. read more

About a month ago, Jim came out and helped us get rid of our mice problem. We haven't seen any mice since then. However, a few days ago I started noticing a very bad smell coming through the vents when the heat was on. We thought maybe it was a dead mouse but we couldn't find any bodies and I started worrying that maybe it was a different problem with live animals. Jim was so nice to come out and validate that yes, it is definitely a dead animal somewhere very near our furnace and he even spent 20 or 30 minutes hunting everywhere to find it for us. No luck on finding it but the good news is that it should only continue to smell for another couple of days. Great customer service! read more

I'm in midtown cleveland They advertise a service area of Northeast Ohio. I believe they were deterred by my address. I told them to Google to confirm that I'm on a developed street with 300k homes. The reply was that they're a small 2 man company (but could spare someone for a side job?). I was drawn to them due to their reviews, and wanting to support something other than big box businesses. I'm not much of an online reviewer, but the quality of service we received from Heights Pest Control compelled me to share my experience. First, I've dealt with other exterminators in the past, and I've been generally less than satisfied for issues including misleading pricing, missed appointments, and failure to bring a resolution to the problem at hand. As a result, I dreaded the notion of dealing with another exterminator when faced with a particularly frustrating and embarrassing problem: bed bugs. We are very clean people, so finding bed bugs within weeks of moving into our new home was unbelievably infuriating and literally kept us up at night. We reached out to a couple of local pest control companies and (thank goodness) Al at Heights Pest Control was the first to return our voicemail. Heights Pest Control was able to schedule a visit for the next day. We have a dog, and Al ensured that our treatment plan would be both safe for us and our dog. Al's treatment plan for our situation included an initial treatment and a follow up visit. It seemed like we were off to a good start, so I assumed that this high level of customer service would come at a cost. I was pleasantly surprised that our quote was very reasonable. Heights Pest Control was able to resolve our problem with just one round of treatment. Still, Heights Pest Control returned for a follow-up visit for good measure. We feel very lucky that we ended up hiring Heights Pest Control, and while we hope that they won't be back anytime soon, we wouldn't hesitate to hire them again, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone with a pest or infestation issue. read more

I am so impressed with Al and Joe from Heights Pest Control and I want to explain. We have noticed occasional mouse issues over the years, but they have been isolated and we have relied on the fact that we have two cats that hunt. This all changed when we cleared out our basement a couple of months ago- which we kept closed- and had it finished. We have recently found mouse droppings in several areas in the basement as we were cleaning it out, and once constuction started, those droppings moved upstairs. By the time the project concluded, our cats nabbed two mouse victims (one of which was deposited in our room for our inspection), and we saw three more in the basement that got away. Finally, my denial of a bigger mouse problem came crashing down on me this past Saturday night at 2am. Our cats came into our room, one meowing loudly. By the time I threw my glasses on, the big grey mouse that had caught a ride in my meowing cat's mouth took an opportunity to jump out and shoot under my nightstand. What followed was over two hours of Tom and Jerry type antics, and the mouse clearly won. Eventually, the cats gave up and wandered off, my husband was blissfully asleep after watching late night tv on the couch, and I spent the rest of the night reading up on mouse infestations (do I know how to party or what?!) I came to learn that mice rarely up and move, and professional help is needed. I found this company through an online search, and the reviews were outstanding. I reached out online in the early hours, and by mid morning of a spring forward Sunday, Al responded to me. Ultimately, we set an appointment for the following Tuesday morning. Al and Joe arrived on time, and with the appropriate COVID protocols in place. We gave an overview of our problem, and they set upon placing baits from the attics to the basement, and all relevant areas in between (note- these traps are not accessible to children or pets- we have both, so we asked). Al then accessed the attic over our garage, which appeared to be a major access point, and set more bait. Al and Joe then methodically reviewed the outside parameter of the house, identifying possible entry points created by gaps in the mortar. Joe filled those gaps with a specialized material, and advised us to seal them. We learned a lot here, including the dangers of having a bird feeder, as there is one nearby. We also had a fruit fly issue caused by a bamboo plant in our house. Al sprayed that, too. Today's services were very reasonable, and come with a six month guarantee. I couldn't be more relieved. It was a small price for the peace of mind we now have. Update: Three days after treatment (which can take 7 days to have effect), my 16 year old tabby brought me a small mouse and ate it before I could remove it from the house. I emailed Al, worried that the mouse may have had ingested bait. He responded within an hour, and informed me that if the mouse had ingested bait, it would not be enough to affect my cat unless she ate multiple mice over a certain period of time. He then told me of an antidote in that event. Phew! read more

While I won't say I'm happy that I needed to, I'm REALLY glad I called Heights Pest Control. My home is nearly 100 years old, and in the last few months we discovered (or thought) we had a mouse problem. When I contacted Al (Heights Pest Control's owner) - on a Saturday - he told me he could come over the same day! He listened to our problem, made a thorough inspection of all the places mice like to hide (and enter from the outside), and took care of the problem. He even came back, a few days later, when I finally had access to a "hidden" crawlspace under an extension of the house (built by a previous owner). We have wooden shingles, and as a consequence had some big bull ants in our kitchen. Al took care of that problem, too! Saw many flying ants swarms in my bathroom the other day, I freaked out and started looking for pest control services. I ended up picking this one since it is close to where I live and it has many great reviews at homeadvisor.com. I emailed the owner Al and he responded immediately, and he also showed up at my house at the same day. He was very patient and friendly at answering my questions, the cost for spraying the whole house was VERY reasonable; the stuff he sprayed was safe for human and pets. Al (the owner) answered our call right away regarding mice in our house. He was very straightforward with pricing and we set up a time for him to come over the next day. Him and another worker arrived on time and got right to work! They searched our entire house with flashlights for potential mice entry points - our basements, crawl spaces, attic, etc. and planted poison everywhere (in safe, non-accessible areas, as we have a dog and small child). They were extremely kind, knowledgeable and explained the whole process, including their findings and the areas they placed copper wire to block new mice from entering our house. They even removed an old disgusting rat trap they found in a hidden crawl space that was there from the previous owners.
