I'm giving 2 stars because the guy who came to our house for many years was professional and doesn't deserve what I'm about to say. I called today to discontinue our service. It is expensive and inflation has really destroyed our retirement income. We still had bugs after years of constant treatments but not near as bad as it used to be. We did have to begin to treat ourselves because they just weren't stopping the ants and I was tired of sharing my bed and bathroom with them. OK, we can do better ourselves so I called to cancel the service in a good mood. The girl on the phone was my problem. I asked to cancel and she informed me we couldn't stop the next service, there was a 30 day clause and... I saw red! So my voice raised and said "you got to be kidding me!? I don't want your service, no ORKIN truck in my drive, ok? She kept on arguing with me. What's to argue? Stop my service and though I don't agree with a 30 day policy, let the chips fall where they may. I'll deal with that when the time comes, NO MORE ORKIN at my house, got it!? This went on until I was screaming and she accused me of cursing. I did not curse, not a single word. She even said I believe you but... believe me? I don't care what you think of me, just cancel my service! That just fired me off to say. NO MORE ORKIN EVER, GOT IT? and I hung up. I went from Orkin is ok, not great but ok to don't ever curse my driveway with an Orkin truck ever in super sonic speed. They have an office problem. Steer clear unless you like having false accusations raged at you because frankly you can't afford their service anymore and it wasn't really worth what you paid for it for many years anyway. Hey we just liked the service guy, he had a family and we were happy to help keep him employed even if we could have done better. read more

Whatever you do if you hire these guys - follow them around closely to make sure they actually treat your house that you are paying them to treat vs parking in your driveway for 30 minutes and then driving away. read more

Requested service for flees due a stray cat which we treated and we are in the process of moving soon. Orkin advised a follow up treatment would be performed in 10 days. On the first initial treatment the Orkin Pro arrived and I explained the situation and he stated I would have to leave the home before he began. I left the property for the work to be performed and the Orkin Pro walked outside with me to gather his equipment. Very shortly my camera system alerted me that motion was no longer present. I became concerned and upon reviewing the video I observed the Orkin Pro spraying a room doorway floor alone for 5 seconds and walk out. At 12:13pm the tech walked to his truck for equipment with me. The video also shows the Orkin Pro leaving the home at 12:19pm. This is a three story home and this was done with a small handheld canister in less than 6min. I immediately called and reported this and the stated they can come back in 10 days to preform the second treatment. Honestly it seems like there use to this complaint and this is there constant remedy. read more

Requested service for bedbugs. Orkin came out, did an initial treatment and another would be performed in 10 days to 2 weeks. Each time we were to leave the home for at least 4-6 hours. This is hard to do when you have children that go to school online, trying to find a place where they don't mind if you spend all day there. This was October of last year, and each time it was a different tech that would do the treatment. The plan was to have 4 rooms covered; Angus was great, he explained everything that he was doing and made sure to contact me when he completed the job. but when the tech Charles came out, he stated he needed to contact his supervisor asking for permission; something about EPA rules before he could treat the room. Finally, on the last scheduled treatment which was March of this year someone came out; I unfortunately did not get his name and treated another bedroom, said it was all clear, but we might see some residual ones until the treatment works. I have had to get rid of an entire bed, including mattress and a living room set Now almost a year later, the problem still exists, and we have had to contact another company. read more

He never showed up and never returned my call. I finally did get a hold of him to tell him I would be going with another company. He acted like he didn't even remember ever talking to me. I hired Orkin to remove bugs from my home for the last 2 months. What's stink bugs being one of them I've seen them the past couple days and have had to kill them. When I called and asked why I was seeing them they told me that the spray will not kill all the bugs I will still continue to see them. The bill was paid and gave me a horrible time over the phone; said I was a bad debt and wanted to sign me up for 4 months out and if I was not home at the allotted time, I would be cancelled forever because I was a bad debt. It's a waste of your money, they will have you spend days prepping your house then not spend more than an hour in your home, you will still have the problem even after they come and they will stop returning your calls and refuse to come out. The first gentle man who came was ok and so was the second. The problem is that I don't think Orkin wants them spending too much time truly accessing the property since time costs money. Both gentlemen were very nice but not as thorough as One should be. I don't think I'd recommend. read more

Had an Orkin come out for a Bed Bug inspection. The guy walked in and looked around and said he didn't see anything so then I pointed the bed bugs out to him on one of the walls. He told me that since the house was vacant it probably wouldn't be successful (didn't make sense) and then he gave me a $950 estimate. I had to rent my property that had roaches. I was honest and upfront with my potential tenants with the problem. I explained to them I am with a well established company who guaranteed they would be eliminated or they would keep coming back until they were gone. That was the sales pitch I got. I also was forced to sign a one year contract. One year later after numerous trips the roaches were still a problem. My one year contract was worthless. It amounted to a month to month contract at expiration. They would keep coming out as long as I kept paying them. How is that a guarantee. They guarantee they will keep coming out as much as needed as long as I kept paying. I am not making this up, that is essentially what I was told on the phone. I had a bee problem at my personal residence. I had a long talk with him. He rattled of a lot of certifications etc he maintains. It relates to chemicals he uses and "bug anatomy" do not remember the terms he used. He indicated the Orkins of the world are about volume and do not have the type of training he has. That was obvious from what I went through. I asked about his prices. They were cheaper, no long term contracts and his guarantee was much better. My suggestion would be to stay away and call around to several independent company first and ask for certifications. read more
