The new location is nestled next to Running, Etc and across the street from Blair Middle School. It boasts ample street parking with a convenient side parking lot for customers as well. A beautiful store-front window is always displayed to perfection bringing window shopping to life during your stroll down Colley Avenue. A charming sidewalk chalkboard sign greets you before you even enter the store. The handiwork on the sign is done by a local artist which speaks to the nature of Texture. As you enter the shop, you will find it proudly supports local artists of Coastal Virginia from Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, and more. I'm always impressed by the jewelry, hand designed greeting cards, pottery, and accessories that the owner finds for the store. She or any other "Texurette" will happily tell you about the origins of any item. The ladies who work in the shop (Texurettes, as they are fondly called) are always friendly and helpful if you are looking for something particular. They offer complimentary gift wrapping in adorable gift bags tied with ribbon. Every time I give a gift in a Texture bag the recipients eyes light up! You will find a price range for every wallet. I have bought $2 hand soaps, hilarious dishes towels for $10 as well as beautiful jewelry in the higher price range. Texture is one of those local shops who truly supports local as well. I love both that they give back to the community and support local artists. It is definitely the ideal place to find a gift for any occasion. They have a baby boutique with one of a kind baby gifts, vintage inspired puzzles, funny gifts such as socks and dish towels, coastal decor, jewelry, handbags, pottery, candles and more. It has a great selection from children's books right up to current adult books. The staff was friendly and offered to help us find anything when we arrived but also left us alone to look which I always appreciate. There is a cafe attached which offers simple non fancy coffees. My daughter was absolutely fine with that since a simple black coffee is her way to go. We purchased a few books that have been on our TBR and will definitely be back soon!

I walked into the store waited a couple of minutes behind another customer and was greeted by a polite employee,I told him I would like to have my card vaccinated and he told me they would make a copy of the original and return it to me and only laminate the copy. In which I thought was a great idea to carry around the laminated duplicate and leave the original at home with my other important documents,just in case I misplaced it I could always make another copy which in my opinion is great for anyone!. I'm not sure how they're dealing with points, though. This location is never very busy, always well staffed, always well stocked and always clean (so many superlatives)! Their prices aren't always the best, though. I highly recommend comparison shopping and taking advantage of their price-matching scheme. I've used their printing services. I recommend calling to follow up and make sure that they got the order. However, if they have questions or recommendations, they're pretty good about calling the customer to verify orders and suggest improvements. I've been no less than satisfied and often delighted with my results when I've used them. They're located in Harbour View East shopping plaza, right off of exit 8 (I-664). They're right between Bed, Bath, & Beyond and TJMaxx. There's always plenty of parking (even during the holidays.... Shhhhh!).

Bait and Switch: please see pictures…read more I ordered the "Designer's Choice Premium Rose Vase Arrangement- Deluxe" for $99.95. Final bill came out to $160 with chocolate, tax, tip and relay fee. Not sure what the relay fee is because shipping was listed as free at checkout. The advertised picture for what I ordered shows over 2.5 dozen roses (see pictures for the advertisement I ordered). They have a disclaimer saying the arrangement might not look exactly the same, but the overall look and theme will be retained. They also specify that roses may be substituted for flowers of equal or greater value if roses are not available. They ended up sending a 10 or 12 roses with a ton of filler leaves (see pictures). I do not think filler leaves are equal or greater value to roses. I was pretty mad because I really wanted it to be special like the advertisement because it was our 10 year anniversary. I ended emailing the florist complaining about how they messed up the arrangement. They agreed that the arrangement they sent looked small and that they would send out another one. I asked if it will look like the advertisement. There response was "I should have bought an arrangement that specified the number of flowers and that each flower goes by a cost per stem count....". I paid a total of $160. I am pretty sure you can get something better from the grocery store for $40 max. Maybe $50 with vase. I was not to hopeful for their second attempt. The new arrangement had maybe 14 roses and a ton of fillers (see pictures). Nothing they sent came close to the "theme or look" of what they advertised. They should change their stock photo if they are not going to deliver on it. The only positive I can give is that they gave me a refund. I would stay clear from buying from Black Iris online. Maybe they are better in person.
