We attended the Norfolk Glass Circuit Event Sunday, March 29, and it was fantastic!! We had the opportunity to create charms with various beads. We even had fairy hair done by Chelsea! She did a wonderful job of putting a little sparkle in our hair! We also had our caricatures done by another talented artist, who hails from VB and graduated from VCU Arts!! We enjoyed the crafts and watching the artists perform! We are so lucky to have the d'Art Center in our community!! She shared the back story of how the lounge came about and got us excited to create candles. I chose the Yuzu & Volcano scents which had a light, sweet scent. They walked us through each step and made the process simple and easy. For my drinks, I ordered the Cabernet and the Bacardi Rum Punch. I thoroughly enjoyed the Rum Punch. All of our candles turned out great and smelled amazing! We even went around the room sharing the name of our candles. I called mine "Elevate". But this facility is a stand-alone building with studios and classrooms and a beautiful, clean, light filled little gallery space. It's free to get in -- anyone walking by can check out the art inside. I'm just not sure how many people actually do. Maybe because they think it's just a building for students. Make a point to pop in next time you're Olde Towne. They have changing exhibits with work by professionals, faculty and students.
